these are the dialogue, phrases spoken by eren during his trial scene. everyone loves to clown on this scene, everyone loves to prioritize and give spotlight to levi beating the living shit out of eren because it's badass but looking back at it, it's really, really such a great scene simply because of eren.

it really tells you how woke he really was, and even at fifteen years old, so, so fearless, even if he's all tied up, his fate rests on the people that don't really give a fuck about him, telling, asking, and begging them to help him. it doesn't really matter to him that he's all tied up, if he's being hindered, or chained to something--he will speak his mind, even if he shouldn't because his life is really at stake here but why should he when it's the truth, eren has always prioritized the uncomfortable truth over ignorance and self-preservation because he can't live like that, because he can't live lying to himself or die never letting them, grown adults, know that they're cowards when they have the power to completely change things around them.

it also sells the point that eren will happily give his life for the truth, he's happy to give his life for the people if it means it would change things and free them. i also really love how for someone who's depicted as reckless, a blockhead and acts before he thinks, he reads and knows the government so well, he sees past their bullshit, he doesn't really buy that them wanting to execute him for being a titan shifter isn't really because they care about the people, because they are a danger to the welfare of the people but rather the status quo that they maintained for hundreds of years and his very existence challenges that.

it's also important that once again, eren despises that those who have power refuse to change and it just baffles him because you have the entire world at your fingertips--why not change it for the better? this is why he wants them to invest everything they have on him because he understands that the power he has, though unknown, is unfathomable and greater than anything the government has to give, he understands his role as humanity's greatest weapon and wants to exploit that.
