Though Marcus gets along with his siblings, and there is no doubt he is a child of Aphrodite, he sometimes feels the aphrodite cabin is not a place he belongs. He tends to feel like he's let the cabin (and the goddess) down by existing as someone who just doesn't care about romance or sex, and harbours a lot of bitterness on how the Fates have shaped his life, though he tries not to let it show.

He's also a little afraid of his mother— they've never spoken, and he's not sure he'd ever want them to. He doesn't know what she'd have to say, and he's a little afraid it would be similar to things he's told himself.

Ah. Caught red-handed. He can tell his face is going red as he returns the smile, feeling a little like he needs to apologize because she had to hear a song that far out of his range.

His grin turns less sheepish and gets wider as she continues, and he makes a grand sort of sweeping gesture. "The floor is yours."
