Starting off the weekend with this video of my three/year-old niece reading the first (of many) letter ever addressed to her. Her tiny almond-shaped eyes lit up when she saw her own name on the envelope, when my sister explained the concept of letter writing. She was in awe of the fact that her favorite aunt could write her a letter sitting in Bangalore and that the envelope would arrive in Calcutta a few days later for her to keep forever. I canāt wait to receive my first letter from my tiny penpal, and hope you all get to experience the joy of that envelope with your name on it really, really soon! š¤šš»āāļø

Letter with Drawing of Whistler Menacing Du Maurier "Sep 21.94 Dear Harrison (we'll drop the / Mr. if you don't mind - 2 confrereĢs) Thanks for your letter. I shall highly value the etchings Helleu is going to be kind enough to give me. I feel sure I shall admire them as you do - even more than we both admire the August personage you mention + whom we left in Whitby yesterday morning - We reached this very pleasant abode last night. With kindest regards Yours very sincerely George du Maurier"

"Little cramped words scrawling all over the paper Like draggled fly's legs, What can you tell of the flaring moon Through the oak leaves? Or of my uncertain window and the bare floor Spattered with moonlight? Your silly quirks and twists have nothing in them Of blossoming hawthorns, And this paper is dull, crisp, smooth, virgin of loveliness Beneath my hand. I am tired, Beloved, of chafing my heart against The want of you; Of squeezing it into little inkdrops, And posting it. And I scald alone, here, under the fire Of the great moon." -The Letter by Amy Lowell
