While I’m sure Chocobo GP is perfectly fine racing game, it is surrounded by a battle pass system and premium currencies (that expire???) that I just don’t want to support. I was not made aware of how bad it was until playing the lite version the other night. Paying $40 for the “full game” doesn’t get rid of microtransactions either. You have to grind tediously to unlock stuff or just pay money to get it. If you miss out, you’re locked out of rewards. Sorry, I’m skipping out on this release.
As of now, all micro-transactions have been removed from the game. Previously, the full game could be purchased but still featured micro-transactions. If you had the Lite version, you can now purchase the upgrade to the full version. You can now unlock everything using the in-game currency Gil, earned playing the game’s Series Races, Custom Races, or Chocobo GP mode. Mythril, the paid currency, no longer exists and the in-game shop no longer uses it.
