It makes me sad that so many Tokyo Ghoul fans really miss the core message that Ishida Sui is trying to express.

The series is about gray morality; about now matter how “evil” a person is, he may still go home to a wife and family who loves and adores him. How no matter how much good someone has in their heart, they are till capable of committing horrible, violent, evil acts even when they mean well and want nothing more than to save people.

The tumblr fandom spends all of their time embroiled in flame wars about how “bad” or “evil” certain characters are and how You Are Bad Too If You Like Them, while missing the entire point that the author is trying to make: That even though people do bad things, they’re not always bad people, and that people who are on the supposed side of justice might be rotten to the core inside. 

Life is not black and white, and simple right and wrong, and people are missing that point in a way that utterly terrifies me.

BREAKING NEWS FOR THE NEKO ATSUME FANDOM

On January 31, 2016, it was announced that a twelve-episode-long animated web series of the mobile game Neko Atsume titled Neko Atsume: The Animation is in the works. It will be animated by Ordet, known for Black Rock Shooter, and will be streamed on Nico Nico Douga and Crunchyroll starting on April 1, 2016. Each episode will be approximately two minutes long.
