Sorry for the long absence...
... although I expect (and hope) that most of you didn't lose too much sleep over it 😂
The sad fact is that my chickens are gone 😔. When it became pretty certain that we'd move to Australia and that I'd have to sell all of my feather babies, I didn't have the enthusiasm anymore to post about them. It was pretty tough and somewhat depressing.
About a month after the last little roo chick left my care, we're still here in our old house and in fact, I'm not sure when i will be able to follow my husband who is already as good as gone across the ditch. The garden had to be pimped up a bit though, so the chookies were the first to go.
There is a good chance I won't have the opportunity to get a new flock anytime soon. While the laws and regulations in Aussie seem relatively chicken friendly, properties often aren't. If i can't afford them a large grazing area, I don't really see the point in keeping any chickens.
So, I guess, this blog is officially on indefinete hiatus. Was fun while it lasted 🙂
