X-Men: Dark Phoenix (Simon Kinberg, 2018)
For those of you who have been following Flapās Film Files, youāll know that a little more than a year ago I decided to take a break from writing to focus on making my own films at school. Like many college students, I changed my career path and realized that filmmaking is not something that I truly want to go into at this time. I had a ton of fun in high school making movies with my buddies, but I realized that making movies isnāt nearly as fun if you arenāt making them with friends.
I had fun in my Mass Communication classes at Rock Valley College, especially my Summer Motion Picture Production class, but the one thing I learned is that making movies can be fucking stressful. For me, I enjoyed running Flapās Film Files and learning about new movies more than I did actually making films in college. I still plan to make shorts with my friends in our free time, but for now, I think journalism is what I want to devote myself to.
I liked being the person everyone could come to for questions about the newest movies, but since I stopped writing for Flapās Film Files I found myself not nearly as knowledgeable as I once was. So I guess this is my way of saying Iām back, and there will be a few improvements. Instead of waiting until I have enough pictures from a certain movie to make a post or album, I will now post all of the new pictures from the week in one post during the weekend. Weekly movie news is also making a return and this too will be done each weekend. Iām considering starting a YouTube channel for weekly movie news since I think that would be an interesting alternative to what I usually do, but we will see what happens. Granted it may slip into the next week if I fall behind because of work and school, but I will do my best to keep everyone informed on the latest. Thatās all for now, but stay tuned for new movie reviews, news, trailers, and pictures!

āItās interesting to remake a film for the contemporary audience today. I think itās a good idea; it needs to respect the original idea. Donāt just take the title and change everything else.ā - Dario Argento
For my feature story I am planning on writing about my grandma Sue Fiduccia who used to be the Winnebago County Coroner. I had a few ideas floating around, but this one seemed the best choice since there is a lot to write about for my grandma. I have done a few projects on her in the past and they usually turn out pretty well since there is a variety of things I can talk about. In other words, my Grandma has seen a lot of shit over the years. I will write my feature story as follows
-I will talk to by grandma and find out where she went to school/college and find out what her major was.
-I will then ask her about her early jobs and the beginning of her career. After this I will ask her how and why she moved up to the position of Winnebago County Coroner.
In my next paragraph I plan to include the following information
My grandma has touched a lot of people's lives and has been with them on the worst day of their life when they lose a loved one.
-An interview from my grandma will fit in nicely here.
I will continue to find out interesting things she has seen and done while on the job. I will also have her talk about the people she has effected which will lead into my next segment.
This paragraph will be about someone my grandma has helped through her job.
-I'll put an interview from a person who has lost a loved one, if my Grandma has stayed in touch with anyone she has helped. If not this paragraph will turn into an interview from one of her old coworkers.
This paragraph will have an interview with the current Winnebago County Coroner Bill Hintz. Since he was an understudy of my Grandma, he will have insight on her and will be able to give a good interview about his experience.
I will conclude the feature story with a quick recap of what I've talked about and probably one last quote from my grandma.

I just realized a few months ago I accidentally bought Wicker Park at a Half Priced Books sale instead of The Wicker Man. Thankfully I also bought The Wicker Man at some point!
I've been meaning to start watching this show and now seems like a pretty good time to start š Adam West 1928-2017 š¦
