The "healing through prayer" spotter's log!

As someone who has experienced many a healing through prayer, I have been continuously benefitted by hearing of other people's experiences of healing. While I am happily exposed to a healthy stream of these through the weekly and monthly magazines of my own faith - Christian Science (see www.spirituality.com) - I am also inspired when I hear a healing recounted by other Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Jews, and others. In this log-blog, a colleague of mine and I will endeavour to track down healing accounts which inspire us in the media and social media and share them. We look forward to your comments and contributions!

I’m not a great one for recording numbers, but 75 years ago was VE Day, the end of World War 2. War is never a good thing, but it is a good thing if the side that stands for freedom wins it. So on a beautifully sunny Bank Holiday our neighbourhood houses had bunting up and the families had picnics, each in their own front garden. A healing of respiratory difficulties from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy: “A woman, whom I cured of consumption, always breathed with great difficulty when the wind was from the east. I sat silently by her side a few moments. Her breath came gently. The inspirations were deep and natural. I then requested her to look at the weather-vane. She looked and saw that it pointed due east. The wind had not changed, but her thought of it had and so her difficulty in breathing had gone. The wind had not produced the difficulty.
