Because we project into material things for a given moment. And it is a race to seek happiness in the ephemeral. Enjoying your coffee or tea is done every day if you want, spending good times with your loved ones, taking pleasure in preparing small dishes, appreciating your living space, immersing yourself in a good book or a film in this winter period or settling in the garden or another place in the summer are all magical moments. Appreciating the end-of-year celebrations and also knowing how to savor all the other days. Or else it would just be a perpetual escape forward. The tree marked a period that ended like everything we experience that is constantly evolving. Celebrations are one-off events and the time comes to detach ourselves from them for beautiful memories and continue without decorations. The Essence of Christmas is in our hearts.
