Can you guys believe we are almost done with 2013?! WHERE did this year go?! (shakes her head)
Before the year bids us farewell we have the best part coming up...The HOLIDAYS!
This is my favorite time of year to bake. The weather is colder, the days are shorter and baking for others makes my soul happy.
We are just a few weeks away from Thanksgiving and I know more than a few of you are already planning your menus. Well I've been busy as well. Not planning my feast menu but coming up with desserts to make your stressful, never quite goes as planned, how the hell does Martha Stewart do it holiday a bit less chaotic.
I love Thanksgiving not because it means I get to see extended family or spend time with loved ones (we attempt to ignore it all together around here. We get together with no one, and have turkey sandwiches) but because of the amazing desserts and flavors I get to play around with.
Thanksgiving is a holiday so full of rich textures and flavors that all work perfectly in a cookie form. This year I'm going to get crazy and mix it up a bit with my menu.
Here is the important part I really really REALLY need you to pay attention to:
Cookies are $24.00 a dozen and that includes shipping. The mini loafs are $5.00 each. One loaf serves 4 good sized slices.
ALL ORDERS THAT ARE TO BE SHIPPED MUST BE PLACED BY FRIDAY NOV 22nd.
If you are local and want to pick up or have me deliver orders must be placed by Monday the 25th.
Want to send cookies as a gift? I'm happy to package them up and include a personalized note!
Please remember that ALL of these cookies can be tailored to your specific needs. Nuts can be added or eliminated (yes, even to the pecan bars! Of course then they aren't Pecan bars...perhaps you can help me come up with a proper name for a Naked Pecan Bar...) We can add chips to any of these, eliminate the booze (or add more booze!). It's your cookie so let's make it perfect for your holiday!
So, without further ado...
Cranberry Walnut Oatmeal Cookie - An oatmeal based cookie with cranberry sauce swirled in dotted with crunchy walnuts.
Sweet Potato Sugar Cookie - A Thanksgiving standard Casserole turned into a cookie. Sweet potato cookie made with lots of brown sugar and topped with toasted marshmallows. So yummy!
Pecan Bars - Made with Whiskey soaked Pecans and real maple syrup with a shortbread base these are dense and divine. Serve with homemade whipped cream and these are an amazing desert.
Pumpkin Maple Whoopee Pies - Pumpkin cookies with maple buttercream. These will make your taste buds and tummies very happy!
Mini Loaf Gingerbread Pear Cake - I don't normally do cakes but this is a holiday tradition around my house that I wanted to share with you. A dark spiced gingerbread with pears that have been marinated in rum. A grownup dessert for sure!
Molasses Cookies - These are a simple cookie with a great flavor. Awesome with a hot cup of coffee or tea. I love these both for how they taste and how they make my kitchen smell when I'm baking them!
Pumpkin Pie Crumble Bars - Shortbread base with a buttery gooey pumpkin pie filling topped with shortbread crumbles. Bourbon Walnut Butterscotch Blondies - Walnuts soaked in bourbon dot these chewy delights. These have a happy factor of about 5 gazillion.
