This sheath was made for the upcoming Pearl Ellis art Exhibit on March 1st.

This leather Sheath was tooled in #hermanoakleather and features a birch bark braid pattern, signifying the interwoven nature of community.

I chose a combination of leather lace and copper hardware to compliment the look of the piece and as a nod to our indigenous metalworking practices.

Another piece for the Pearl Ellis art Exhibit on March 1st.

This beadwork tobacco bag was beaded in traditionally smoke tanned #buckskin leather sewn in an imitation of an octopus bag.

It features a forget me not in 4 stages of growth, representing the four directions and four seasons. North/Winter for vegetation, East/Spring for flower buds, South/Summer for flowers and West/Fall for seed pods.

Just about finished the octopus bag for the Pearl Ellis art exhibition on March 1st. I decided to tool a forget me not flower in its four live stages to match the four directions. North/winter vegetation, East/Spring flower buds, South/Summer flowers, West/Fall seed pods. The colours of the Métis sash were incorporated into the design.

The back features a birch bark braid pattern, signifying interwoven kinship networks as community.
