Fricken open rp people!
It was a dull dark afternoon, everything had a grey tone to it, angry dark clouds had covered the sun that had been out shortly before, streets were barron bar a few people scurrying home.
Reiner had just finished his last shift at the kennels and was walking back to his apartment when he felt the first few icy drops of the rain hit his face, he gave a sigh as more and more started to stain his shirt, before it got any worse he dipped into a quaint little coffee shop that sat on the corner of the street and turned around watching as the rain got heavier and heavier, A wet cacophony covering the streets.
The blonde turned back around and found a seat beside the window in the back of the room, the calm, warm atmosphere making him feel at home. He ordered his hot chocolate and settled down, waiting patiently for the rain to simmer down. Looking around he spotted a familiar figure sitting by themselves, he knew them from a previous party he had attended a while back, they drank and had a laugh. Picking himself up off his seat he walked over politely tapping them on the shoulder “[Insert name here lol]? It’s me Reiner Braun? We met at that party a while back?”
Reiner wasn’t all that good at introductions….
Karkat raised an eyebrow at the near-stranger, biting back a diatribe on why, exactly, it was a shitty idea to go around tapping the shoulders of people that might or might not remember you. (Not for lack of effort, either; his day hadn’t been particularly bad yet, and the chocolate still steaming in front of him had done more than a bit to smooth down what nerves had been frayed.)
"Do you need something?" he asked instead, slipping a thumb between the pages of the book he had been reading to mark his spot.
Talk about rude, he was so much more friendlier the last time he’d met him…It’s amazing what alcohol can do to a person if given the chance.
He grabbed his mug off his table and helped himself to a seat across from the other, eyes focusing on his rather pissed off expression, no matter he had dealt with this type of person many a time before, no sweat! "Need something? Nah, I just recognized you is all..Thought we’d have a chat. Or were you expecting someone?"
The tan-skinned young man looked pointedly back down at his book before slipping a bookmark in place of his finger and shutting it. "No," he answered, "not expecting anyone, just forcing myself to deal with physical humans for once. Don't know why I bother when most of them are mind-numbingly idiotic, but talk away if you need to fulfill your daily quota for talking to strangers with nothing better to do."
