#crtm #this was a fun test cover for my book. finished it abt two months ago n im very proud #dw im not dead! just focusing on writing which definitely posts less well. but i finished another edit of my book #and im mostly done writing my second book #also i dont really post on this site anymore..... ngl i just hate the culture and how much time i spent here #as you can see. im way more productive when i dont use social media. 50k words in 2.5 months is. very good.#i've been in the mines sending out query letters. it's an enormous pain but i really believe in my book. so yeah.

#crtm #i have done nothing but draw this for. many hours.#this was intended to be a warmup before i started tackling the one i was really interested in. surprise!#the shading was such a bitch on this one you have no idea #instead of doing it with the curved line tool like i usually do. i did almost all of it by hand. it fucking sucked but DAMN its beautiful #also i stole some lace pattern online and messed with it until it became the thing over her chest #then just edited *that* pattern for the hands and elbows #same with the bed of flowers its just a stock photo i fucked with #grrrrrr and the veil was so fucking fun to do. i love how it came out #im obviously not satisfied with the mouth. but whatever. the hands are fine even if idk what i wanted out of them #this is why i always draw characters smoking #what im least certain about is the hair. its fine but its not ideal. i coulda done it better i think.#anyway i learned a ton doing this and im very proud of myself #hoping the thing i do next turns out half as good #even if this prolly wont get an eighth of the notes of the lovelace warmup i did in like 30 mins lol

#crtm #i switched to linux a while back and the one thing i really fucking hate is that there's no paint dot net ;-;#so this was some experimentation with aseprite #i wanted to challenge myself to do only straight lines #and the canvas is double the size i normally do (400x600 instead of 200x300)#it was fun but yeah i miss PDN :|#and dual booting back into windows just to draw is really fucking frustrating #+i know there's two pairs of sleeves. the ones around her waist are the legs of the full jumpsuit #oh and this design is really inspired by justcallmecornflake. they haven't been active in years but i love their lovelace design #i considering doing the high neck too but i did a high neck last time so i decided not to. the tank top is equally as hot.#aaaaaaaaaanyway #oh shit ig it's christmas day? anyway happy birthday eiffel #wolf 359 #w359 #isabel lovelace

#crtm #AGGHHHH THIS ONE WAS A HUGE NIGHTMARE #the mouth was torture and doing the colors was just. so fucking frustrating #i might take another pass at this idea at some point in the future cos it was fun. i think i just made some decisions which held me back #specifically the purple/red/green/brown combination just doesn't reduce down well #some of the 2 bit versions looked quite nice but they got rid of the color in her eyes or dress #which are like. the most recognisable tattletale features except maybe the ponytail #the shading was really fun though im surprised at well the hand came out cos i really struggle there #think ive been making some shading breakthroughs recently :]#the dress is somewhat inaccurate to 1930s as i think the high neck wasn't a think back then but sleeveless was big #and i love high neck/sleeveless so i went with that lol #wormblr #parahumans #tattletale #lisa wilbourn

#crtm #they made a character whose mouth i dont have to draw im in heaven #also: quick update on mask!#they delayed refilling my adderall and also i was so busy with life and by the time it got filled i realised i had burned out somewhat #i do want to finish that ''chapter'' so to speak and send them on their way so do expect a few more pages hopefully sometime soon #and i do want to do like a true continuation of the story but making a comic is very hard and i have other things. like a job.#im really glad i learned all the things i learned doing that tho bc i felt like for this one i was able to do it significantly quicker #and some of the minutae/details came out really nice here #might just be my imagination but damn the face came out so nice compared to the last dozen or so fully rendered things ive drawn #but tbh sometimes the face just works out and sometimes it doesnt and in the latter case i tend to give up lol #but anyway the other reason i'm not immediately retooling the mask format to see what else i can do with it is bc of my book #i basically finished as of ~2 weeks ago but i met with a beta reader and we identified some spots that could use some work #so i've been putting my nose to the grindstone writing and editing again #hoping that i can finish up by at least the end of the year. ideally like early/mid december #bc i am so tired of working on this book its insaneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee #i just want to be done with it ;>.>#fuck hope i didn't hit the tag limit #amy dallon #wormblr #parahumans #fuck just realised i forgot her freckles.............#idk how id do it in this style anyway so whatever

#crtm #mask #m14 #apologies. its been a hot minute #unfortunately Life happens and also i've been plugging away at my book in terms of editing/rewrites #i want to be done editing by the end of the year which is something of a longshot but i think I can do it #anyway i'm very proud of this page. i thought the inverted colors idea would be very fun for a flashback and here we are #also knowing that the whole ''hair as distinguishing figure'' thing gets flipped.#now it's mags with the high contrast hair helping her stand out against the background >:3 #given more time id definitely make the bottom right panel look better. and i wish the bottom left could have more vertical space #but overall im quite happy #next page will be very fun
