Who is going to drown in your deep blue sea after you are gone? Who is going to reach at your darkest shore on your longest night?

the term cis like makes sense as a social locator like there are a whole bunch of contexts in which it’s coherent & useful but as soon as people start acting like it should dictate what you are & are not allowed to feel or articulate re: your personal experience of gender I’m 👀 like being cis does not have to mean that gender is.. comfortable for you…. I could have the exact same feelings and experiences and reactions to things that I have now & call myself something else (& I have in the past) & what would it change…….. precious little….. you can’t assume what kind of relationship I have w/ my body & w/ whatever social roles I’m forced into like you don’t kno me like that… anyway this isn’t new but it’s been on my mind again these past couple of weeks
like–speaking abt myself for 3 seconds–the mindset that any discomfort w/ womanhood (which isn’t designed to be comfortable for anyone, & for some groups of cis women even less than others) meant that somehow inherently deep down I wasn’t a woman did not help me… assuming that womanhood had to be some like deep mystical soul-knowledge that makes you one w/ the universe, like it must give you a sense of untarnished rightness & inner peace & connexion to Your True Female Energy & you have to conform to all of its mandates or else you’re not a woman at all did not help me, like what is this 1842??????? different people with different lived experiences in different cultures can interpret & contextualise those experiences differently & it is ok………. assuming that all cis ppl do & must have a deep tangible essential connexion to this, very specific cultural iteration of a binary gender is fake imo & I’m not sure what that would even mean or feel like. I’m a woman bc of my connexion & commitment to other women, because of my social & personal experiences & how I choose to interpret them, because I say so
& actually assuming that some people are just like… innately fit to occupy the subject position of “woman” & so those who are uncomfortable with it must necessarily be something else entirely robs us of the ability to talk about the fact that womanhood is uncomfortable or why that is. not to mention that it is literally essentialist and misogynistic to construct this ideal of angel-in-the-house mystical womanhood it’s absurd & downright Victorian
The Politics of Design
i understand why vampires traditionally look dead but for my own purposes i’ve always preferred the opposite. they look too alive, as though every part of them is trying to convince you that they’re human. that they can be trusted. their cheeks are flushed like a painted doll’s, almost unnerving. all the saturation turned up, creating richer dark tones and brighter lights. their eyes look glossy, teary, emotional but glass-like. their appearances compensate for what they don’t have and as a result they’re just curious enough to intrigue you, like an uncanny painting whose eyes follow you as you walk through the museum, persuading you to return once more before you go just to ponder, when in reality they’re like a frog in the rainforest, poison but incredibly beautiful.
And then shawarma after?

Listen, “asshole with a heart of gold” is a good trope but you know what we need more than that???
Dumbass with a heart of gold. Just, a complete moron who cares a whole fucking lot. An idiot who would die for a stranger. A goddamn dimwit so fucking in love with someone that they’d do anything for ‘em.
I want a story about an Italian vampire.
No romance, no action.
Just 200 pages of “What do you mean, I can’t have garlic? Do you know where I’m from?”
TBH I think the main issue would be the mirror thing
have you ever met an Italian man
the amount of time they spend looking in the mirror jfc
#the more you think about it the more all vampire rules are just anti-italian rules#can’t go out in sunlight?? IN ITALY???#Can’t go near crucifixes? IN ITALY???
a bunch of pissed off vampires stuck in Venice because they can’t go over moving water
Not to victim blame, but you’d have to be a pretty bad Italian to even get turned into a vampire in the first place.
the only two places practically immune to vampires are texas and italy
Let me tell you of A Thing.
Lithuania has no vampires, I guarantee it.
Lithuania has one vampire, and let me tell you, she’s gonna be FURY UNLEASHED once someone gets her out of the centre of that crossterfuck of a burial point.
#never seen texas and italy in the same sentence before
