Chicago: Please help me re-house my cat?
Hi. It’s been a minute, but I come to y'all in need of help, specifically from my Chicago network. This is my cat, Esme.
She’s about nine years old. She’s very soft and very lovely. Unfortunately, she’s not great at moving, and with my impending move to New York in October, I’m in need of rehousing her. When she was born, she was the runt of litter and has had abandonment issues since. When Jes and I have moved in the past, she’s expressed displeasure by peeing and pooping from anxiety. We’ve tried giving her meds, and treatments to no avail. The past year, I’ve been going on tour with either fake limbs or other bands, and I’ve had friends keeping an eye on her. She’s fine for eight hours, she’s fine for twelve hours, but after that she starts to get skittish and freaks out. At the end of the day, she’s a very social cat–she loves human companionship–and without that, she acts out. I’m hoping to find someone that would want to take her into their home, preferably someone that doesn’t travel much, or someone that doesn’t have a cat yet. She gets along with some cats, but other cats make her skittish. We’ve been trying to get her into no-kill shelters for months, but everytime we do, we’re told “we aren’t taking anymore cats.” I’m at my wits end here, and I’m absolutely heartbroken that I can’t take her with me (I’m going to be on tour for about seven weeks between leaving Chicago and settling in New York.) I cannot stress how soft and beautiful and sweet she is. Whomever takes her in will be taking in a cat that will give them soft cuddles and adorable fetches (she’s an excellent fetcher!) Feel free to PM me, or email me–[email protected]–pass it on to friends that might be interested, reblog, whatever will help. Thanks for reading.
