"Apart from precision and clarity, ADAM monitors enable our creativity. At the end of the day, I have decided on the right monitors for me, my music, and my studio", says Dirk Stephan, owner of MMG Studios. Please read more here: http://bit.ly/1xdujVY
MPC60 Ad
it was only one cat in the hood with a MPC60 and that was the homie Rhino CMZ shoutout to him…one of the OGs who taught me alot about production and gave me inspiration to become a better producer. Cant front seeing a MPC60 up close at that time was crazy. Even tho its collecting dust i still have my MPC2000XL.

Studio Tuesday Blog 4 - Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 USB Audio Interface
The Scarlett 2i2 is the latest addition to my home studio. For a period of time, I was using a Tascam US-800 which has 6 XLR/1/4” inputs. But the number of inputs was basically the only positive aspect, as I often had compatibility issues and it required external power which can be a hassle.
I have kept the Tascam US-800 for instances where I require more than 2 inputs (drum recording). However the need for that is not often so I decided to upgrade to the Scarlett 2i2 based on its great preamps and the fact that is has everything I need for everyday recording use. And also because its got that great red brushed metal look that is pretty impressive.
Two inputs, TRS out for my KRK RP5s and a headphone out for monitoring while recording is pretty much all I need for the everyday project. The input gain knobs illuminate green for when it hears a signal, orange for when it is nearing a peak level, and red for when it peaks. The visual response is extremely convenient while recording. The switch for direct monitoring is convenient to. On the Tascam US-800 the direct monitoring level was the same as the input gain, so this is a good switch to have so I have the option to directly monitor what I am recording or turn it off and turn monitoring on in Ableton to hear a post-FX version. Out of the box the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 was an easy set-up. Plug and play. The USB powered interface is convenient for in the studio as well as on the go. Essentially it has everything I need in an interface. Whether I am recording a line in guitar, vocals, or a guitar cab, this interface handles multiple jobs very well. Next week’s Studio Tuesday Blog will feature the Shure SRH440 Studio Headphones.
