Son & Park Liquid Eyeliner
So I decided to be adventurous with eyeliners after watching an unearthly lot of youtube videos and finally settling on Son & Park’s -- and I am now able to give my own two cents! But before that, let me just say that I haven’t quite explored many other options. I am truly a creature of habit, and from the time I started wearing eyeliner regularly some 8 years ago (and also, eyeliner is really the only make-up item I wear regularly), I have started on The Body Shop’s liquid eyeliner. I never really tried anything else, not because The Body Shop’s eyeliner was perfect for my needs, but simply because I am a creature of habit. In fact, it wasn’t perfect for my needs and my decision to get adventurous stemmed a little from frustration of it smudging all over, leaving me looking ready for Halloween after every boxing class. It was not sweat-proof and smudged into black tears and left my eyes stinging every gym session and every time I was caught in the rain with fall definitely here. That said, if I had a good and regular day, this liquid eyeliner lasts well through the day and more than anything I was much too used to the applicator brush tip to embrace change. So without The Body Shop in Boston (...I think?), every time I was back in Singapore, I would buy a few to stock up and last a year on this liquid eyeliner.
Now though, I’m finally ready to embrace change because I have been increasingly going for after-work gym sessions that I’d like the eyeliner to survive through.
First impression: The brush tip was stiffer than The Body Shop’s but also flexible enough and very easy to control. The application was very much like a felt-tip marker.
Now... how does it last through the day?
Please pardon my derp face but here is the Son & Park eyeliner not just after 12 hours but also after a really really sweaty boxing session -- Color me thoroughly impressed, Son & Park. There is very little fading in spite of having been through a lot of perspiration, and the lines are still well-defined. Most importantly, nothing smudged during the gym session to cause my eyes to sting. Perfect.
Here is a picture of it removed -- I have a small gripe about how flaky it is, so it leaves some little bits on my lids and some sneak into the inner tear ducts when I was trying to remove it. It’s a small gripe nonetheless and it’s still rather easy to remove.
Verdict: Highly recommend and will re-purchase -- it may well be my next mainstay.
