Saddest book moment Book moment you wished happened in the movie: When Starling revisits Baltimore State Hospital in Hannibal (1999)

"This was damn sure not the Rose Garden"

Since i’ve already done saddest i’ve gone with outthisland's idea! I immediately chose this scene because it's one of my favourites throughout the whole series. The sad thing is this scene ALMOST made to the actual movie and it looked really good from the deleted scenes ;A; (I couldn't find any good quality screencaps so I just used caps from SotL) This scene is important because it represents the decay of Starling's ideals and her world. When she had visited the place before she was full of hope, excitement and everything about the FBI was rosy. Now that she has come to the realization of how corrupted and rotten the FBI actually is reality has hit hard as shown on the building itself.

Exploring the basement, the files, is almost like how Starling tries to search for herself after the massacre, and like the search it was fruitless and was only able to achieve her search - the building was only able to thrive - when Lecter was there.
