Instagram has started to remove the number of likes. I can still see the likes on my personal account, but on clareatz they’re hidden! It’s was weird at first; but I’m starting to like it! I wonder when they’ll make the change for all accounts & to hear about people’s opinions! What do y’all think of this change?
Twitter’s radical “Hide Replies” feature, one of the biggest changes to how Twitter works since the invention of the Retweet, is now available to Twitter’s global user base. The company says the feature will roll out to all Twitter users across platforms by today, with only …
What do you think about this!
This is interesting! I wonder if and what people will think about it.
Planning your next Netflix and chill? If you’re a designer, start with these 12 movies and shows.
After reading the Creativity Inc Book which is about the Pixar Animation, I find an article that is also about those talented animators’ works.
And the third one is the Pixar Story! Good to watch!
Borrowing this from @deargracegu! Looks like a good list!

This is definitely a mood hahahaha
This is a picture my mom sent me the other day, but my dad earned a patent! He’s a software engineer at IBM, and I know he’s been working on it for some time. It’s titled: “Determining connections of a network between source and target nodes in a database.” Not exactly sure what that means, but I’m excited to see him over Thanksgiving and learn more about it!!
My mom sent me this link this morning - I didn’t realize you could do this on Photoshop! I’ve honestly never found a good collage layout that I’ve liked on any platform, so it’s exciting to be able to make your own (with as many pictures as you like) on Photoshop!

If we want users to like our software, we should design it to behave like a likeable person: respectful, generous and helpful.

This was not what I was planning for my assignment, but I decided it would be a fun project for me!! I’m hosting a Christmas party for my friends when I get back to Houston and thought it would be fun to create an invitation for it. I used both Canva & Photoshop. I made the Santa figure on Photoshop and the actual invite on Canva. Although Canva provided pre-made invites, I decided to create my own from scratch. I had a lot of fun with it & am so proud with how it looks!! (especially the Santa, aka me as Chandler from Friends)
My alma mater (go coogs) just introduced these food delivery robots on campus. They’re purpose is just like UberEats/Postmates/etc: to deliver food. There are so many restaurants all over campus, and I remember sometimes dreading the walk to the Satellite, Student Center, etc. to get something to eat. I’m not actually sure how it works (I’m assuming an app), but a comment on their LinkedIn post stood out to me. I haven’t thought much about the details about the design, and think that Jessica brings up a really good point. I especially love the truth the last sentence holds - “Technology is cool, but technology that’s inclusive and accessible to all is better.”
I’m excited to see how long these robots stay on campus & what it does to the university!! Kinda sad I’m not there to experience it firsthand.
critique #4 - lightroom classic
Objective & Design
Lightroom is one, if not my favorite Adobe application. I learned the basics years ago and have used those same skills over and over again to edit my pictures. The main objective of Lightroom Classic is to edit your pictures.
There’s a few different ways to get to the main objective. You can either start from scratch and edit the picture as is, include an imported preset, or create your own preset. Presets are filters you can slap onto your picture for an easy edit.
I really like the layout of your ‘workspace.’ After importing your picture and selecting the develop, you’ll see presets on your left and all the edits on your right. Everything you possibly need is organized on one screen. The preset folder includes Lightroom Classic set presets as well as the presets you imported or made. On the right is where you can edit the picture before or after the preset. You can edit colors, the lighting, shadows, etc.
Lightroom makes it really easy to edit pictures, especially with the preset options. Want to fix the shadows? It’s possible. Need to go back a few steps? The history tab is GREAT. They make it easy to do everything with one screen. The only thing that’s needed is to know when using this app is what the edit does - how does the highlight affect the picture? What does the tone curve do? They do have a help support page online if needed: https://helpx.adobe.com/support/lightroom-cc.html.
It’s also simple to create your own preset. After making the edits to a picture, clicking the + button next on the preset tab will create a preset for you that you can use for your future pictures. I took the time (and patience) and made my very first preset for my last making assignment. Although the actual making of the preset takes time (because you want to make sure it works not only on the picture you’re editing, but other pictures as well), the logistics behind it is easy! It tells you all of the steps and what you used to create it.
Lightroom also has a mobile app. It’s pretty self-explanatory; however, I’ve always had trouble importing presets. You can still edit your pictures on the go - allowing it to be very accessible. I prefer using the mobile app for my not as important pictures -- just because I prefer having a bigger screen to edit. However - I love using the app for quick edit.
Overall, this is a great app for photographers, bloggers or any one who’s looking to have their pictures pop out more with a few edits.

Oh, no. Oh, dear. We have awful news. We accidentally added group chats to Tumblr.
Group chats are a place for you to connect with other people on Tumblr to discuss things that are important to you—like long Furby, or your favorite fandom.
It’s terribly upsetting, but this is going to make it even easier to connect with like-minded people and find new communities you might not know existed.
We have no idea how this came to be
Each group chat can hold up to 100 members. To make matters worse, you can create and join as many group chats as your beating heart desires.
The only good news we can give at this time
Group chats must be a friendly and welcoming space for everyone. When you create a group chat, you become the sole owner and are responsible for how it is run. You alone can invite new members and accept or deny incoming requests to join. Just remember: group chats are publicly viewable, and while only members may participate, anyone on Tumblr can see its contents.
As the owner of a group chat, you possess the power to remove any member or message you feel needs to be removed. However, you do not need to be the owner or even a member to report a violation of our hate speech policy or other aspects of our Community Guidelines. Reports will be properly dealt with by our Trust & Safety team.
Phew
We hesitate to tell you this, but to learn more about how to use group chats, head on over to our Help Center. It’s full of tips, tricks, and helpful information. Disgusting. We’re so sorry.
You’ve been warned. We can’t protect you from the truth any longer.
To find existing group chats, just search for them in the app like you would any ol’ topic. If you don’t see what you want, consider being your own hero and making your own. Just tap the new group chat icon in the upper right-hand corner of your dashboard or simply swipe left from the dashboard. There you will see all of the group chats you own or use, as well as the option to make a brand new one by tapping the “+” in the right-hand corner. Make sure you’re using version 14.5.1 or you’ll be spared the horrors of good conversation and finding new friends.
This is exciting for the Tumblr world!! I didn’t realize you couldn’t make group chats in Tumblr, and I know it’s one of my favorite (& most used) things about any social media platform. I always want to make groupchats with my friends on Twitter & IG so we can send each other funny posts/etc.

I know they’ve been testing this for the last few months, but I’m interested to see how this play out! I know likes are ‘important’ for a lot of people (influencers, marketers, etc), but I started to dislike them about a year ago. The number gets to people’s head all the time & I think it takes the fun away from it’s actual purpose. I wonder what will happen in the personal IG world as well as the influencer world. We’ll find out next week!
