Ethan was busy getting his gear on. He had just finished strapping his blue vest on and just knelt down to tighten his boots when he heard footsteps approaching the resupply room. He didn’t pay them much mind. It was about time the rest of the team starts filing in and getting ready. After he was done with one boot he adjusted his position and got his other foot from out from under him and began tightening that boot when someone stopped in front of him and poked his forehead. He stopped and looked up to see it was Rod.

He smiled up at the Blu doctor before he finished what he was doing. He stood up and smiled down at the shorter man. “What can I do for ya, doc?” did he need something off the top shelf or nag him that he was far over do for a physical or something? Ethan couldn’t help but to snort at the thoughts. “You about ready to get going and start kicking some ass?”

You fail!

That obnoxious announcer voice echoed in his head. That was how today went. Nothing but a fail. Nothing he planned worked, nothing he did worked, and the more messed up part- he didn’t die near as much as his teammates. It was if the bastard RED team knew this puts him in that mood. Having to watch as his teammates die painful deaths over and over and over again. And there was nothing he could or did do to stop it from happening. Just like that time before here.

He was still sitting in the resupply room mentally kicking himself down. All he can think about was his teammates dying and his men from long before dying. All he can feel is the sickening feeling of helplessness as the light left from their eyes and he couldn’t save them.

He practically ripped his googles and bandana off of his head and threw them on the ground. He was so angry, disgusted, and sick to his stomach right now. He can’t think clear, he can see, he feels like he can hardly breath.

Why does he even try to lead them? It was painfully obvious he couldn’t do that right back when and he obviously can’t do it now. Maybe he should just leave and let someone better lead the team. They deserve better than what he could ever give them. Maybe he should- his thoughts were interrupted by someone poking his forehead. Such a small bother pulled him back into the present time. He looks up to see its the team’s resident pyro staring down at him.

“Bea?” was all he could manage in a broken voice barely above a whisper.

He can read directions just fine. Be it a map or whatever. Its following directions he struggles with sometimes.

He’s a stubborn man. And can be dumb as a door nail when he wants to be. There are times he’ll read directions to something and then think he can do it a different way/take a shortcut and then gets pissy when it doesn’t work.

“You’re not helping, Bea!” he snapped at her. Why did he bring her again? Why hasn’t he tried to convince Blutarch to replace her yet? He finds himself asking these questions more often than not recently.

“Y-ya know, if you don’t like how I do things, then why don’t you come up with ideas?!” he just came out of respawn and he was not in the best of moods. Dying and going through respawn was bad enough, but to die in such a pathetic way- something he should have seen coming and should have been easily preventable. And then coming out of respawn and having to listen to someone criticize his strategy when he was already kicking himself in the ass for it were something he can live without thank you very much!
