"So, anyone got an actual game plan here? Or are we just gonna continue taking out innocent people like assholes?" Jamie asked with a smirk as he sipped his drink. He was fully aware he was on the list of said assholes, especially considering he had decided to go along with the rest of the group and lay low up till now in order to survive longer. But now he felt like ruffling some feathers to get an idea of where everyone else's head was. "At this rate the slashers aren't gonna have to do anything. That's kinda embarrassing."
Mark me down as not having a gameplan, but I didn't really come to the party expecting to be strategic so mostly I'm here for the vibes, going with the flow." Despite knowing of Jamie for quite sometime via Valora, Ollie had never actually interacted with him. In the beginning it was still sort of weird for him, coming off of sleeping with her and knowing that Jamie had been Valora's choice over Oliver even if Flick had been his choice over Valora (their dynamic was as complicated to explain as it was easily to exist in) Now though, the dynamics they found themselves in were far from fresh and it felt stupid now to actively stay away from someone who was so important to someone important to him. "But for the sake of your question I'd look for specificity in conversation about who is the killer or not...too many specifics I'd assume that person is the killer, trying to hard to cover their tracks, you know?"
“The best of the best. Such a bougie little baby. I love it. She deserves. We deserve. Uh yeah, duh. Gotta butter up before you put those muscles to work. I love to watch you flex,” Celeste said and wiggled her eyebrows, making a point of watching Tierney as she got their things together. “Your mom is such a babe,” She told Gabby as she kissed her cheeks. “Uh you and me both, are you kidding? I’m gonna end up calling you for no reason just to chit chat all day.” Celeste had really enjoyed their time home the past two months and though she knew she would also eventually have to go back to work at some point, she hadn’t wanted to think about it. She got Gabby settled in the seat, giggling along with her as she poked her stomach. “God, I love this child so much,” she said softly before moving around to the other side so she could sit in the back seat with her daughter. She was waiting for her to be a bit older before she felt comfy sitting back in the passenger seat. Her mother said she worried too much but she didn’t care. “I mean realistically, financially, how long can we get away with both staying home?”
"I can feel your eyes on me." Tier told her while lugging all of their belongings then she turned and sent a wink Celeste's way, "That wasn't a complaint, just stating a fact. Proceed." The blonde smiled softly to herself because she would actually love that because even though she was still hungry to do good and reach her personal career goals, for the time being that was all secondary to her family if she was being honest. "She's perfect." Tierney agreed as she started the car waiting for Celeste to settle in the back seat. She missed being able to reach over and hold her wife's hand, but agreed with one of them being in the back for now, even if they were getting called out by thier parents constantly for ging a little overboard as first time parents tended to do apparently, "Realistically, financially…a very long time. That part isn't the issue."
Celeste smiled as she watched Tierney pick up their daughter, pretty sure she’d never tire at the sight of them. “It’s empowering and also making me think that detergent companies make a buttload off of parents because how could they not? Yeah, yeah, maybe. Not my fault me and pasta are sworn enemies,” she teased back. “I think so? Phone, wallet, water, change of shirt for me too, sun hat, the weed pen that Phoenix brought me. I think we’re set,” she told her, leaning in to kiss Tierney before taking Gabby into her arms so she could get her settled in the car seat once they got outside. “You’re on packing stroller duty. I’m not fighting with that shit today. You’re the stroller whisperer, I’m convinced.”
"Oh for sure, one of the biggest things I realized early into this process is how thoroughly capitalism popped off when it comes to the baby industry and I'm being had because we're getting our girl the best every time." During the transfer, Tierney couldn't help but give Gabby a big kiss on her cheek followed by Celeste as she was pretty much putty in both their hands. "Fuck, so you kiss me like that just to butter me up? I see how it is. Fine, Mama T has got this." Cel grabbed the bags and unlocked the stroller and held the door open for her girls then headed outside, "My maternity leave is up in about a month. I'm not looking forward to being apart from the two of you for hours at a time. Maybe my calling is stay at home mom in a shocking twist." They both knew that wasn't exactly true, but the thought and slight anxiety at the prospect of not being with Cel and Gabby as much had crossed her mind more than once in the past week and she wanted Celeste's thoughts on it.
“Remember when you could just leave the house with a little cross body bag and call it a day?” Celeste laughed as she finished getting Gabby ready and Tierney packed the bags they would need for their time out of the house. They had come to learn that Gabby was a bit of a messy eater and always required an outfit change, loved a snack, always had to change her diaper and a list of other things that also helped Cel feel secure whenever they were out of the house. “Ugh, look at how cute this is. I’ll have to send your mom a picture before she stains it, she as excited about this onesie.” @clearlytierney
"That sounds vaguely familiar but that sort of feels like a distant dream, I don't know." Tierney said while she swooped in and scooped up their daughter, blowing a raspberry into the little girl's tummy, something that never failed to make their kid giggle. "How empowering is it to just accept that she is in fact going to stain it. She's a messy eater. Gets that from you I guess." Tierney teased with a wink, "Do you have everything you're going to need? We'll be gone for a few hours. It's pretty nice out."
They had to have looked goofy as hell with the way they were smiling at each other for no reason other than being in each others’ presence. It was just the way they were though, she couldn’t even explain it beyond a fullness in her heart. “That’s kind of her. Have I ever told you how much I love your supremely well adjusted girlfriend? Give her a kiss on the forehead from me. I’d say it’s pretty festive,” she grinned, “Performing with water cannons on stage might have been giving me too much power though. I’m obsessed now. Gonna have to put it on my rider.” As if she even had a rider, but that was beside the point. She was clearly all in on the concept of the festival.
"I know, I love my supremely well adjusted girlfriend too. I will." Oliver wasn't kidding, he was extremely grateful that Flick was Okay with his relationship with Val despite how they started. He didn't expect everyone to understand that their bond had skipped straight over romance and solidified into something precious even if sex had once upon a time been in the equation and Flick hadn't understood it exactly, but she trusted what he said about how he felt was true, which only made Ollie love Flick even more; she was his person, full stop and Val was just a relationship that couldn't really be confined in a box. "You're a full on performer now. I knew this was going to happen after your 'one time special performance just to try it out'". Ollie made quotation marks with his fingers, grinning, "I'm glad you're owning it now. You and Samara look so awesome up there, like it's where you're supposed to be."
genevieve-young:
“There’s always something to give you shit about, Oliver or Ollie.” Val was ready for it, catching his hug with the kind of force that meant she had to push up on her tip toes. “Nothing quite as romantic as some questionable shrubbery once it gets dark,” she twisted her lips and chuckled. “Is that what you’re doing? Scoping for possibilities? If you don’t mind the noise, under the stage is like an old school blanket fort on steroids.”
*
“Umm that’s true, but that doesn’t mean I have to make it easy for you to find, you know?” Oliver couldn’t fight the smile that erupted across his face when Val hugged him even if he wanted to. “Been there, suffered the consequences of that, but I meant she was trying to think of a place for you and I. She respects the tradition. Blanket fort on steroids sounds tempting though, I’ll keep that in mind. So what’s up? How’s the festival shaking out for you?”
“I was hoping I’d find you first at this one so you couldn’t give me shit for always finding you. What’s up, superstar. You look good.” Ollie told Valora as he walked up to her, hands in the pockets of his trunks until he took them out to wrap his arms around her in a hug. “It’s always harder to find a private place at the outside parties, even Flick was stumped on where to get privacy at this one.” @genevieve-young
woodsonella:
“I really think so.” Ella assured her. “You know, I’d be the first to tell you but like you literally just said, I can’t see a universe where that happens. You’re ready for this. You know this, I know this.” She told her best friend with a bright smile, as she understood that Tierney might have been nervous about what was to come. This was going to be a major change to her life, but Tierney had always taken life by the proverbial balls. She was the strongest person she knew. “Yeah, I don’t think you’re going to be seeing much sleep for a while.” Ella teased her best friend, patting her back. “Please do.” She said, already excited at the thought. “Oh, I’m going to make sure of that.” Ella raised her eyebrow to match that of Tierney’s. “Nowhere.” She repeated. “Why would I want to be around a bunch of stuffy old Italian clothes right now? I’m here with my best friend and my best friend’s wife and their brand new baby.”
**
"Yeah, I told myself that for so long and ready or not she's here so I'm gonna move the earth to make sure she's safe and happy but damn...I'm her mother. I think those words and my heart fucking squeezes or something." On the one hand, Tier had yet to encounter something she couldn't handle, even the hardest obstacles she got through, but on the other, she didn't just want to make it through raising her kid, she wanted to be the best mother for Gabby she could be and the thought of falling short killed her. "Oh thanks, you can't even lie to me huh? Fuck it, bring it on." She decided, looking at the baby who was no longer sleeping, but was rather squirming in her hospital issued crib, "She's already curious. That's my kid alright." Gently, Tierney knocked Ella's shoulder while grinning, "Thanks, and you know good answer since we consider you her aunt. I don't know if you realize this or not, but you're the sister I never had or wanted, but so happy I got in a shocking turn of events."
woodsonella:
“She is,” Ella nodded, in complete agreement. To say, today had been a whirlwind would have been an understatement but it’d all culminated in the newest addition to their family. Little Gabby. “She truly is, Tier.” The blonde dropped her head down against her best friend, happy and honored to share in this moment with her. “Yeah, you do have a baby. And just like you’ve literally crushed every aspect of your life before this moment, you’re going to do the same with motherhood, T.” She said, with a bright smile. “But also know, that if you ever need to tag someone in, I’m always ready. I love babies. Especially babies named Gabby.” The blonde scoffed, as her best friend thanked her. “Puh-lease. There’s literally no where else I’d rather be.”
**
“You really think so? Promise me if you see me not crushing you put some sense back into me, but I can’t see that happening. I want...everything good for her.” She lifted her head to grin at Ella, “Everyone keeps saying our days of sleep are numbered so don’t be surprised if I take you up on that sometime soon. She’s gonna love her aunt Ella so much.” Tier raised a challenging eyebrow in Ella’s direction, “Nowhere huh? What about at a vintage clothing auction in Italy? You’d rather be here with my baby girl and that?”
p-finch:
“Okay fair,” he replied with a laugh, making both hugs good ones. She had been so instrumental in his life and all he ever wanted to do in return was be as supportive as a friend to her. “Nah not too much at all. Honestly kind of grateful. I was half embarrassing myself, half about to move way fast but I’ll tell you that story when we’re not in the hospital,” he admitted, sure that if the phone call hadn’t interrupted him and Scarlet he wouldn’t wanted to have taken his hands off of her all night. “It was fun though, this is way more exciting and all of us being here in our fits is kind of amazing. Definitely a historic night for Rosewood General. You know when we first met you told me Cel was the one. Guess you can tell the future, huh?”
**
Tierney was grateful that she and Percy had gotten to know one another, because he truly was a great person to have in her corner in addition to how awesome it had been to see each other grow, "You? Mr. swearing off moving way fast about to move way fast? Looks like my daughter might be looking out for you without even realizing it." She tried to think back to when they first met, and balked with a laugh, the memory hitting her life a mack truck, "I did, didn't I? It's almost embarrassing me gushing to people I just met, but I don't regret it and wasn't wrong. It's funny, I knew we had people but looking around at everyone who showed up...I'm trying really hard not to be overly emotional. And you have to meet Gabby before you leave, she’s gorgeous "
p-finch:
“So your brother is like…suspiciously good at uno and I think between Wyatt, Warren and I we’ve successfully tasted every snack in the vending machine.” Percy had been hanging back for most the night, just focused on supporting Tier and Cel’s family and wanting folks to get what they needed. He figured he’d see the baby eventually but if all went well he’d have plenty opportunities to outside of these hospital walls. “Here, you look like you need it,” he told his friend as she stepped out for a moment and he handed her a water bottle. “I have a joint too but we can save that for later,” he joked and gave her shoulder a squeeze. “You need me to pick anything else up for you guys? Not every day you witness the birth of a Rosewood legacy,” he teased before fully pulling Tierney in for a hug. “Congratulations, Tier.” @clearlytierney
**
"Yeah, it's worse because he's so fucking nice about it even when he's slaughtering you." Adrenaline and a heightened sense of protectiveness she couldn't quite temper down to normal levels yet kept Tierney wide awake even though she felt herself teetering on exhaustion. "Thank you." She told him taking the bottle and pulled him in for a hug after he squeezed her shoulder, "You're here for the birth of my kid, we're beyond shoulder squeezes." She was smiling as she pulled away, grateful for every face that showed up for the arrival of her and her wife's daughter, "No, we're all good for now." She didn't mind hugging him again at all and beamed at congratulations, "Thanks, I'm a mom now officially. No going back, and I wouldn't even if I wanted to. I hope it wasn't too much to bail out of the party."
"She's so perfect, El." Tierney said as she slipped her hand in her best friend's and laid her head on the blonde's shoulder as they watched her baby outside of the hospital nursery, "Sometimes the gravity that I'm responsible for this little human being from this moment on hits me and other times it feels like...this amazing thing couldn't possibly be happening to me. "I have a baby. And like it's no competition or anything but the cutest baby in this joint." She let out what was not her first dreamy sigh while looking at Gabby, "Thank you for being here. I really wanted you in my corner for this."

celeste-mayermendoza:
“Gabriella,” Celeste repeated and kissed the baby’s forehead. “Gabriella Mayer-Mendoza, middle name pending,” she added with a laugh. “Look at you, big baby,” she teased and reached up to brush at Tierney’s cheeks even though her own were just as tear filled. “I love you. So fucking much. Tierney we have a baby!” She was still in shock, even after the ten months, all the restless and sick and joyous nights. And even with their child between them it all still felt so surreal. “I’m never gonna let her live down putting me through so many hours of labor. I’m gonna tell the story every birthday. Our May baby,” she cooed at her daughter, absolutely in love with her from the moment she laid eyes on her.
Eventually she turned to have Zella hold the baby, having her moment with her before she sat up a bit more and eventually started to welcome more folks in. She couldn’t help but crack up at the sight of all of them in various outfits and various levels of drunk. She loved every single moment of it and couldn’t have imagined a better collection of people to be around her. Blessed didn’t even begin to cover it.
After all the visiting and after they had taken Gabby to give them all some rest, Celeste made space for Tierney to join her on the bed, the chaos of the day finally having an end. “I can’t believe I pushed a whole human out of my vagina today and now all I can think about is how much I’m going to eat tomorrow. I have a list of things in my head already so get ready.” She leaned into her wife as soon as she got in the bed, relaxing against her with a sigh. For all the ways she had been anxious about this day, it had gone more perfectly than she could imagine. “How are you feeling, baby?” She glanced up at Tierney and brush her fingers across her cheek. “How does it feel to be a mama?”
**
"Shut up, she's so beautiful." Tierney said in a weak defense though it was 1000% true. The whole labor was insane and surreal but at the end of it, they got Gabby and Tierney was positive that their life would never be the same in the best way. "I love you. Thank you for doing this." She told her wife, pressing her forehead against Celeste's for a moment then her hand reached out to gently touch Gabby's fist. "Our baby." While the baby had screamed literally at the top of her lungs, she settled down in Cel's arms almost immediately, making Tier melt all over again. Her protective mom streak didn't miss a beat, eyes on the transition between Cel and Zella's arms carefully even though she knew both women knew how to hold a child, possibly better than she herself did. Much of what happened next was a blur with family and friends cycling in and out to meet Gabby as well as a facetime so Gabby's grandmother in Mexico could lay eyes on her granddaughter and by the time Tierney curled up into the hospital bed with Celeste, she felt exhaustion hit her all at once, even though she would absolutley be getting Gabby from the nursery in a few hours to be in the room with them the moment it was allowed. "I will get you whatever you want until the end of time for birthing our baby girl." Tier wrapped one arm around Celeste's shoulders and the other around her midsection, "Tired, lucky as fuck, ready to take you both home, so many things....it feels amazing. What about you?" She ran her hand over Cel's stomach, "How does it feel without her in there anymore? You know I think she has your eyes."
celeste-mayermendoza:
When Celeste was on the other side of this, settling into the chaos of motherhood, she would never forget this moment. When their daughter was a teenager, an adult, every birthday, Celeste knew that these moments would be the ones to return to her memory. The nerves yet preparedness, the affection and care from Tierney. The continuation of building a life together that neither of them had ever dared to dream of. She would always remember it, and would tell Gabby about it every birthday, from the moment they woke up to every crazy moment in the hospital. Including the endless hours of labor.
“As comfortable as I can be,” she said with a nod. She kissed Tierney back and pressed her forehead against her wife’s. “I wish my mom was here,” she admitted, a few tears springing to her eyes, allowing herself to be vulnerable for a moment. She didn’t want Tierney to feel like she had to do anything about that but Celeste had to name it before it got lost in the night. “Zella,” she confirmed for a few reasons, one of them being because out of all of them (excluding Tier’s mom), Zella had been the only one to actually give birth before and Celeste knew she’d be standing calm next to her despite her excitement. “Oh my god, you’re right. Flynn’s party. Fuck, I was excited for that one too,” she said with a pout. “Yeah like the hottest family ever.” That word had her tearing up again. Family. Their own chosen family and Celeste couldn’t even begin to describe how excited she was to raise this kid with the family she had.
The hours seemed like they kept on passing and she was starting to worry about herself. But with one hand in Tierney’s and the other in Zella’s, she finally started to see the finish line. Her contractions got closer and eventually Gabby was finally ready to come out. It felt like the hardest challenge of her life, pushing and sweating and screaming from pain. She was surprised Zella and Tier’s hands were still attached by the time she was done with them. But just as she almost lost her strength, one final push and she heard her baby’s cry as she fell back against the bed. “Holy shit, you’re having the next one,” she told Tierney, laughing and crying as she caught her breath. She watched as they cleaned the baby up and did her best to sit up as they brought her over to place her in Celeste’s arms. As soon as she set eyes on her, she started crying again, deep tears of joy, of a journey she’d one day tell her about. From walking into her empty home that day, surviving alone, to being here, with her own daughter. One she’d always fight to stay with. And her wife who was so supportive, Celeste wasn’t even sure she existed sometimes. Her best friend, her girls right there to welcome in the baby Coyote. She couldn’t have been happier. “Hi babygirl. We’re your mamas.”
**
Surreal couldn't even begin to encompass the near out of body experience Tierney had as she coached her wife through the labor of delivering their first child. The same Tierney who had nearly resigned to the notion that happily ever after's weren't real, or just weren't meant for her had somehow evolved into this Tierney; a wife and now a mother with the arrival of their daughter. She was terrified honestly, in a way that she hadn't been since her wedding - equal parts excited for what was coming, but so damn nervous about the same exact thing. Had she noticed herself, the blonde would wonder if her wife noticed the subtle trembling in her hands, even as she stayed solid for Celeste's sake. Though her own mother wasn't in the delivery room, she felt an immense amount of comfort knowing the woman was just down the hall, and though her mom loved Celeste as she loved Tier, she knew it was different than having her birth mom there to experience this with her, and Tierney's heart was a little broken that they couldn't find a way to get the woman here.
Still, resilience was what Mayer-Mendozas were all about, so they would get through it as best they could, still surrounded by so much love and so many intoxicated people, "I know baby. I do too. I'm sorry that she can't be." As she spoke, Tierney ran calming fingers through Celeste's hair, "Then we'll get Zella in here." The blonde couldn't help but chuckle at her wife's obsession with being the hottest of whatever they were doing, "Hottest wasn't the first word to come to mind, but I like where you head is at, even now." Of course Cel was choking herself up, but Tierney couldn't poke much fun because the same was happening to her.
It was a long night waiting for their baby girl to enter the world, and Tier didn't even mind that her hand had gone numb long ago. The moments when Celeste was in pain with contractions, Tierney was attentive and when they subsided, she was soothing, then the pushing started and her anticipation and nerves really kicked into overdrive, "Deal. You're doing amazing baby." In an instant it seemed her world changed - new lungs tested their limits and Tierney couldn't have stopped the tears if she wanted to, that was their baby's voice, her cry. "Deal." She mumbled against Celeste's forehead, "Baby, you did it. I love you so much." She got to cut the umbilical cord and watched as Gabby got cleaned off and she watched the doctors put her in Celeste's arms for the first time. She was next to Cel in an instant, looking down at a frankly kind of funny looking baby, but she was beautiful at the same time, "She's perfect." Tier let out in a shaky breath, "Welcome to the world, Gabriella."
celeste-mayermendoza:
“No shit,” Celeste replied with a laugh, amazed that she could even manage a laugh in this moment but the way that Tierney had said it was too funny. She stood still until she was holding onto her wife and carefully walked out of the kitchen. “Okay, okay, I’m going to text the girls to meet us at the hospital,” she agreed, leaning forward into the kiss before she was laughing again. “Holy shit, she’s on the way. Of course she’s fucking early.” Cel was already at the door with the keys in her hand as soon as Tierney came back and they promised the dogs to be back soon before they were off the in the car. “Shit, I’ll call Wyatt to come get the dogs, he’ll need them for emotional support,” she added, waddling her way into the passenger seat, her heart racing as the pain in her body started and she tried to focus on her breathing.
Celeste had thought about this moment so many times over the past ten months. She knew she was ready but she had been enjoying pregnancy so much. It felt like such a special time but now there was no turning back and soon, hopefully sooner rather than later, their little one would be in the world. She didn’t even register Tierney’s driving, just stayed focused on her breathing. As soon as they pulled up the the hospital, she felt her heart beating faster, the whole world blurring around her as they got her into a wheelchair, processed her through and got her in the room. The entire time though, her eyes were focused on Tierney and it was all she needed to know that whatever happened on this day, it was all going to be okay.
“I’m so glad I decided to get the drugs,” she whispered to Tierney once she was finally laid back, her hand resting in Tierney’s as they waited for her contractions to get closer. “If this kid makes me get a C section I’m going to be resentful,” she muttered, laughing through her breathing. For the briefest moment she found herself wishing her mother was there but it just made Cel squeeze Tierney’s hand harder. “Do you think they’ll let Zella come in? This is a lot, right? Is it a lot? Holy shit I’m about to pop out a fucking baby!”
***
There weren't a whole lot of times where Tierney sounded like an idiot, but when it happened it was usually caused by Celeste in some way, and so it was only natural that their daughter could do the same. Cel's 'no shit' did the job of snapping Tier out of her brief moment of being dazed and back into action, and goddamn did she love this woman, loved when they divided and conquered, even now. "No shit." Tierney replied to Cel's holy shit, not even in this moment able to resist giving back what her wife gave, even in the midst of arguably the most frantic moment of her life.
"Was that a contraction?" She asked while getting Cel settled into the car, noticing when pain registered on her face. "We've got to time how often those happen." Even though, she was just leaving to go around to her side of the car, Tier still squeezed and kissed the back of her head and proceeded to drive as fast as possible while also being as safe as possible, taking no chances with her family.
Sometime during all of the intake and processing her parents and Preston arrived and Tier found that made her a little less anxious (though she was still pretty on edge). Celeste thankfully had had about as smooth of a pregnancy a woman could have so far, her wife seemed to enjoy it even, however, Tierney was a little more impatient than her wife and waiting for their daughter to make her grand entrance seemed to stretch longer and longer and she just wanted her here so they could all start the next phase of their life.
They were in the big show now, with Tierney by her side in the hospital room, looking down at Celeste and she couldn't imagine doing with this with anyone else on the planet, "Me too. What do you have to prove to these people? Nothing. Are you comforable enough? As comfortable as you can be?" Tier asked as her thumb ran over the back of Celeste's hand, until her wife put it in a vice grip again, "Yeah, I already asked how many can be in the delivery room and one other person besides me, and that choice is up to you." She chuckled, "Yeah, you're bringing another human into existence, it's a lot." Tier couldn't help it, she leaned down and kissed Celeste, "Okay so final answer is Zella? I'll text her. Wasn't everyone at a party though? Our baby's welcome wagon is about to be her very own Met Gala."
