“As long as someone does. Though I think a few of our regulars may be put off by all the tinsel that I strung up. Oh, yeah. Definitely. I wouldn’t of paid for all of this out of my own pocket.”
“I don’t think I’ve ever seen this place so festive, I figured it wasn’t tough guy enough. Where’s the mistletoe in here, hmm?”
“—So the parlor may look like Christmas threw up on it. ‘Ole boss man told me to decorate and I think I went a little too far. Oops?”
“I think it looks cute. Your boss paid for all this shite, I hope.”
“I can’t believe my new baby’s home… Want to go for a ride?”
“Sign me the fuck up.”

The club was packed. She had suggested it, and he had obliged, though not without hesitation and complaint; he had griped for five solid minutes about parking, driving around in an attempt to find a free spot. He had ended up paying an exorbitant amount to park in the lot, and he hadn’t let her forget it. Even inside, he was still acting the defeatist. His eyes scanned the crowd, and he was immediately squeamish, seeing all the limbs knocking, the drinks being consumed, the general rowdiness. There didn’t seem to be a flat, unoccupied surface in the joint. He was acutely aware of his leg, thickly braced, thumping awkwardly behind him. The cane at his side landed on someone’s foot, and he tossed a frantic “sorry” to the air, but no one seemed to have noticed. Simon looked to Cleo expectantly, and she gave a knowing grin. He heard her shout over the music. So she had picked up on his anxiety. He looked forward doubtfully, placing his free hand in his trouser pocket. “I hope you know that’s quite a bit to sign up for.”
“I can do it!” morgan
“Famous last words,” the brunette muttered under her breath, looking up from the lounge chair she was sitting at. The sun was shining brightly for a English summer day, but the sunglasses Cleo wore on her eyes weren’t needed by a long shot -- merely an accessory. Still, she tilted them off of her nose for dramatic effect, giving her sister a judging stare from the top of the branch she was perched on. Had she been telling this story to someone else, there were no doubts they would’ve expected it to be back from when they were children. But no, Cleo was watching her twenty year old sister climb a tree like she was in primary school. “Don’t jump out of that tree,” she warned her, but they both knew her words could only do so little. And of course seconds later she watched Morgan’s grip leave the branch and kick off from the tree... tumbling down to the grass. So much for landing on her feet. Cleo watched her sister’s crumpled body on the ground closely, waiting one, two, three seconds before she started to twitch. And with her not crying in pain or complaining, there couldn’t have been much wrong. “Told you, you’re not a bloody cat,” Cleo finally scoffed, resting her glasses back on her nose and leaning back into the chair, going back to focusing on her tanning.

Isaiah nodded in reply to her comment about remembering her. How could he forget? “’Course I do.” He chuckled at her reply, “Your bed? It’s never too early to drink, Tinkerbell.”
“Yeah, y’know. Where you sleep, sometimes eat, get laid. My mattress is pretty comfy. Anyway, good. This way, then,” she nudged him with her elbow, starting to walk down the street. “What are you doing here, anyway? It’s been ages.”
He chuckled, raising his eyebrows at the girl. “What do you have against 1D?”
“You’re not some freaky 1D fanboy, are you?” she teased. “I have nothing against them, but since I am not a thirteen year old girl, I don’t particularly like them either.”
“Your favorite place in town,” he answered immetiately. When he registered just who it was in front of him, his eyes widened. “Yeah… your favorite place.”
Cleo met his look with a grin. “So you remember me,” she laughed. “Good. My favorite place is probably my bed, but I can show you my second favorite place. It’s not too early to drink, right?”
“This down is bloody quaint. Sure, it has its appeal, but what is there for things to do? Clubs, bars, museums, all of that? Maybe I need a tour guide.”
“Ask and you shall receive. What do you wanna see first?”
“Eyes open,” Ryker agreed as he felt her pick up the pace beside him, which he was both glad and worried about. Faster meant more likelihood of him falling on his face. “It’s just the usual bullshit a mechanic deals with. Nothing special. Just a bunch of idiots who think they know my job better than me. And then this injury didn’t help.”
“People deal with idiots wherever they work, hate to break it to you,” she shook her head, getting inside the elevator once it came. Only when she pressed the button for her floor did she get a good look back at the guy. “You really don’t look so good,” Cleo frowned a bit, her eyes sweeping over the gash. “You really should’ve just went to the doctor.”
“Thank God, there’s someone else in this town as sane as me— In which case sit down, grab a beer and stay for as long as you like. If I hear anything about that creepy bearded man that gives kids presents one more time, I’m going to go insane.”
“Sounds good to me, love. Is there a reason you’re so anti-Christmas?”
“Fair enough. Alright…” he said while starting to play a familiar song on his guitar. “You’re insecure, don’t know what for…”
Cleo let out a groan, hitting him lightly on the arm. “Not One Direction, bloody hell.”
