âWhy do you say that? If you donât mind me asking of course.â
âIâm a doctor, so, I generally run odd times and shifts,â he shrugged.
â I will. â She chuckled softly, offering him a gentle smile before nodding at his words. â Okay⊠â Addison let out quietly, bright orange specked green orbs searching his expression as she bit back a soft laugh at his words. â Alright - Tony, youâve got to keep your opinions to yourself. Dr. Carter said so. â She teased quietly, grinning slightly. Her hands had been outstretched towards the antibiotic cream, a slight hop in her steps while she huffed out stubbornly. Spinning on her heels so that she was now facing the much taller brunette, her bright gaze would lock with his own before she shrugged simply. â The ointment! I canât quite - Iâll get it, donât worry. â
He continued analyzing her procedure - it was inherent to who he was after all. The doctor would have laughed at her remark if the fact that his lip was open didnât make tugging on it something painful. âOkay, so, follow his orders as you should and things should be fine,â he ended up saying. Tony continued glancing down at her smaller figure until she told him exactly what she was trying to reach. Without all that much effort he took the ointment from the shelf and showed it to her. âIs this the one youâre looking for?â he questioned, still standing right there in case it was actually something else. It was no big deal for him to be helping out. It wasnât like his condition demanded him to be seated after all.
Listening intently, as though it were a school lesson and not a silly lesson on how to toss popcorn into oneâs mouth, Vik nodded. âCanât hurt to try,â she grinned, taking another piece of popcorn from the bag and following his advice. An excited squeal that was entirely unlike her escaped from between her lips as she caught it in her mouth, proceeding to eat it. âSee, I knew I wasnât totally hopeless,â she joked, a smile forming on her lips.Â
Tony couldnât help but chuckle at the squeal and the rest of the display. âWell, Iâm glad I could help with your goal.â he said with a smile playing on his lips. âNext time you need some kind of ailing when it comes to things like that, you know exactly who to look for.â the man told her with a couple of nods.
âWell, if youâd like to go to a bar, let me know because we can have all kinds of fun on New Years Eve. You might even get yourself a kiss from a girl by the end of the night.â
âIf Iâm to be completely honest, I donât really worry about that... I donât always have a whole lot of time to see where things might go with me and a lady, so, Iâm okay with just seeing how things go.â
âThe psycho-what the fuck? Was that English, mate?â
âPsychotropic. It relates to drugs or medication that are used to affect a personâs mental state.â he supplied casually.
âPlus it was fucking dark and I had a spliff earlier. Poor excuse, but still.â
âOh, yeah, on the smoking psychotropics, I would say avoid driving it altogether once you do so.â
{Tony} "would you look at that"
Graceful was not a word that could describe India. Something that was further proven when she found herself tripping over her own feet and being caught by a complete stranger. A handsome stranger, nonetheless. She could blame the fall on alcohol, but there was no alcohol on her breath and she had been serving this stranger for about fifteen minutes, so the lie would not have been a convincing one. It was when she was about to say something (and remove herself from his lap) that the words were shouted at them over the blaring music in the nightclub. Eyebrows furrowing, she followed his gaze to the mistletoe that was positioned above them. She vaguely recalled hanging mistletoe in random places around the club with Vik at five in the morning when she was half-asleep and smirked as she let her gaze meet his face. He was an attractive stranger and that was all the reasonâ however shallow it wasâ that she needed to kiss him, so without hesitation, she took his face in her hands and leaned in closer. âFor catching me when I fell,â she whispered somewhat dramatically, her lips meeting his before he could respond.Â
âOh man, that sucks, Iâm sorry to hear about that. Well, by New Years Eve you could always go out even if you donât have many friends. Hell, Iâll even take you to a bar where we can have drinks and have drunk girls fall over us.â
âIt has itâs good and itâs bad side, like everything else, really. Iâll have to wait and see what kind of mood New Yearâs Eve brings on though. However, the possibility of going to a bar does sound interesting.â
âGood to know. So now I donât feel like a complete twatâ
âYou shouldnât. I know for a fact I would divert from just about anything on my way while I was driving. No matter how insignificant they might have seemed.â
âIâm finally taking a break from working on my night club and it feels great to relax for a while. Knowing that tomorrow is Christmas makes it awesome, but what would make it better if I had someone to spend it with.â
âI guess you can say youâre lucky thatâs something you can actually do. Iâm on call, so, pretty much no Christmas feast for me. It does mean Iâll have New Yearâs off, but, I donât know a whole lot of people, so, it might not even have made that much of a difference...â
âLike this.â Viktoriya tossed a piece of the popcorn up into the air, but it only hit her chin before falling to the ground. âSee? Tell me what I am doing wrong here, oh wise one, and if I catch it in my mouth, I will owe you one. Whatever you want.âÂ
Tony focused on the woman as she did that and analyzed the situation. âUhm... Okay, I think I might have the answer... Or, at least some kind of answer when it comes to it,â he trailed off. âNext time you throw it up, donât move your hand straight to your mouth, try to throw it up in the air so you get a parabola with a higher vertex. That should help somewhat. Or be step number one.â
âWe both know how this ends.â
âDonât say that!â he scolded the younger woman, his expression tightened up in a serious one. In their line of work it was certain they would come across some tough calls, but Tony was one of those who generally refused to give up on his cases easily. âWeâve only been at this for a couple of minutes, there are more things we can do. We just canât give up yet.â he shook his head again looking over to a nurse that worked on getting a tray of tools for them to use. âYou, start compressing his chest. And you,â he said turning to face Addison. âHave you ever performed a tracheotomy before? Because judging by the laceration to his mouth, Iâm going to initially assume that tubing him wonât exactly be an option, but, double check on that and report to me as soon as you have an answer.â were his orders to the young pre-med before saying loud enough so that anyone could hear âWe need at least three units of O neg here!â
âStay close to me.â {Cleo}
Tony was not the most articulate guys when it came to crucial moments such as this, but one should give him points for trying. âIâm here, Cleo, you donât have to worry about that,â he spoke in a soft tone, not quite sure what else could be said, so he decided that it was best not to say anything else at all. Bringing her closer, the man placed his left hand on the back of her head, letting it run gently through her hair as he rested his cheek against the side of her head. âWhatever you need, Iâm here,â he told her with a bit of a nod, holding her close just for a little bit longer; if anything, he was concerned about her.
âI think itâs about the angle and maybe Iâm just not angling it right. Iâve tried a lot of different angles, though and I keep failing so maybe I simply suck at this now.âÂ
âOkay, show me how youâre doing it; Iâm gonna try using all my expertise in years of throwing food in my mouth to help you out.â he said with a chuckle.
âI donât know what Iâm doing.â
Tony spared the woman a smile. Were he to be completely honest, he would let her know that in a number of occasions he wasnât a whole lot better at knowing what he was doing either. âJust go with your gut.â he encouraged her. âCome on, whatever you plan on doing, it canât be that bad, right?! So, hit me with your best shot and just bring it on!â he said the words and arched and eyebrow. He might not have known Andi for long, however, he thought it was highly unlikely for this to somehow turn into a situation in which they might have ended up caught in something illegal. âGo ahead and take a plunge. If anything goes wrong, Iâll be here to catch you,â the man offered; it was both a metaphorical and a literal kind of thing he was offering. âIf anything, it could end up being fun!â
I had to get out of my cab and walk to my office in six inch heels, because he started talking about Star Wars and how his niece in France has watched it. No bloody spoilers, goddamn it.
âYou did the right thing, my young Padawan. I know thereâs absolutely nothing that would have made me sit through the spoilers of it. Even if it takes me forever to be able to actually see the movie.â
