The road home was a long one, and Sigma had no time to waste it on a mere dragon. He should have been resting, but here he was, running with a group to put the Death Dragon back down. He hadnāt said much since they had entered the caverns. Too focused on breathing and the fight that was barring him from the road home.Ā
Home.
Iām going home.
No more pain.
Iām coming home.
The thoughts kept running through his head as he rushed into the mouth of the cave where Spirazzi lay bound by his chains and broken charms. His breathing had been reduced to wheezing by this point, but he pushed on. He drew his bow guns and opened fire as the love of his life rushed past him as well. They were like one. In his world, he did not see the others that had so valiantly come to help them, no. He only saw he and Arvada going for broke as they aided in knocking the old Dragon down once more.Ā
The edges of his sight had started to dull into the darkness, but he didnāt care. His breaths were ragged and he was tired, but he was proud. He was going home....he was going to see everyone again. Darkness took over his vision for a moment as he seemed to stumble, but he shook it off, walking with Arvada out of the cavern and into the sunlight. For some reason, he felt lighter. He felt like he could do anything.
It was time to go home. At least for now. Sigma was still shaken up, walking with her so they could prepare to go home. He was ready to go. Now, was the time to go home. Once he was ready, he followed his love out to the Underfoot boarding docks. It was really time to go home and Sigma was a bit mixed with feelings.
Something had been eating at him, not just the constant coughing he was dealing with. He hadnāt been around since the war started, and he had heard a bit of information from AittusĀ Langel, a mechanic in one of the fleets against the Kartel, that war had broken out. From the sister, Verla, he had learned about the Rescue Mission she had been on prior that didnāt succeed. He didnāt want to think about how bad it was, so he decided to keep it to himself as to not worry Arvy.Ā
Emerald eyes closed slowly as he tried to relax once on board. He was really going home. He couldnāt stop thinking about it. It was nothing but imagination at one point. Sigma had nearly given up on going home once theĀ Metastasis happened, putting him a bit down in the dumps. If it wasnāt for the severe injuries he had sustained in the escape, he would have died. Thanks to Aittus and Verla, who found him coughing and wheezing, he wouldnāt have been alive.Ā
Everything was finally looking up. The first thing to do when he got home, go see his family. He knew he still had one. . . and it would be nice to surprise the lovely woman that he called Mammy.Ā
