STREET PHOTOGRAPHY

From the #JustGoShoot school of thought, the obvious sub-genre of “cinematic” street photography was born, and is being practiced in every major city. There are two completely different worlds when it comes to this niche, where one is strictly mobile photography (predominantly iPhone) - while the other is off your of your SLR/film camera.

The editing styles mimic film, while the aspect ratio is more commonly (since the iOS7 upgrade) becoming a 16:9 panoramic for horizontal compositions.

As street photography rides as the new photo journalism wave, it’s actually pretty awesome how street art & graffiti are finally given a national stage, as social media platforms like Instagram have these visuals spewing out of Manhattan, Chicago, LA, and Toronto.
