High Town Gallery
Finally working on the last lot in High Town. Thanks to a little inspiration, I have direction now.
World Update 2/23
I'm working on distant terrain for Arrow Continent. I'm trying not to fall into the trap of editing everything I do and stick to my vision.
My distant terrain vision is:
Floating Islands
Cat Paw
Portals
Flying Boats
Feather
Lotus Pond
All meshed, but not put together in one terrain yet. I created three distant terrains and felt unsatisfied with both. This idea is my new one. I was going to use 3D assets, but the poly on some of them is crazy. Your computer blowing up over a small world is nuts. I'm using a combo of Nukae's MTS tutorial & Hydrangea Chainsaw's pdf instructions. It's been fun building Arrow Continent.
I'm still looking for inspiration for the High Town Gallery.
Everything else is on hold. I only have two hands.
Lower map plans of the Arrow Continent
I keep misspelling Buddha. It's a Buddhist Sect, not Buddahist.
A few pictures of Arrow Continent
The Gate of the Seven Star Sect
Almost finished this lot tonight. This is a housing lot for the sect leader and elders. Seven Star is small/medium sect. To avoid overfilling the world, there will be limited lots for sect disciples. I need room for public lots. Below are a few village homes. I have finished many sect disciple residences, but I haven't put them down yet. The map I drew for this world is particular when it comes to location. Everything has a reason for placement.
The above are houses in a poor village I already put down in the world. Cultivation novels have mortal villages, and it would make little sense to fill Arrow Continent with sects but no mortals. After all, where would they recruit? Bridgeport? The only thing lacking is more vegetation. I added the vegetation before. It looked more beautiful than anything I have ever created. I was so proud. And like the typical Sims 3 scenario, I experienced a sudden crash....
...Ah Well...
Arrow Continent
I did not know what to call this world. I did not even know where to start sculpting. I found an abandoned, unfinished, empty world on my external drive named Arrow Continent. So, I started there and have been trying to learn landscaping since.
Landscaping is my biggest weak point when creating worlds. That's why I've been taking my time creating the most interesting environment possible before creating lots. I'm also testing effects. Some things look better in CAW vs. gameplay. I don't want a contradiction to occur between my imagination and the actual game.
I'm posting pictures of progress here, but some of them are no longer accurate. For example, the one with rocks and trees on the water has been changed. The cinnamon trees are now aspen, and there is more vegetation around the rock mounds.

I'm done building in High Town
Well, other than the art gallery. It was just a world to bounce off ideas and now that I don't have any, I don't feel like randomly building anymore. I am done. I dropped 3 premade EA houses down and called it a day. There are 15 empty housing lots. 69 lots in total. 3 from D7(a world I Thanos snapped out of existence). Other than the art gallery, I have to make last minute touches on the houses I already built. This will be an actual release. No Beta.
I'll make some minor changes to Topi Water Island before sharing. For instance, Topi does not have space for the user to build their own house. That's a bummer for those who want more freedom. I will also open the routing up more, so users can get active in the water. After all, a place called Topi Water Island should not reduce it's inhabitants to land animals.
Whimsical Flowers needs it's roads revamped. While it looks good, traveling will not be it's strong point as is. In fact, it would probably be finished if it wasn't for that. It's better suited as a vacation world at this point.
A Cultivation Sect will get an update.
I have another cultivation world planned. It's been in my head for a long time. I'm working on so many worlds, I just don't want to add to my workload. I'm really excited. I'll have to do cc to recreate what I want. No AI, since I have since learned that these tech companies are inhumane garbage. My crystal ball says a heavenly demon sect or multi-sect world. I'm inching towards multi-sect, because heavenly demon sect sounds too ambitious for me.
I've already fixed the lots in Palette World.
I'm resuming my work on BookNook Mountains.
D7 has been scratched indefinitely. When I retrieved the useable lots in D7, I was extremely unhappy. Only 9 good lots! I hated everything. I'll make the 7 families downloadable, but the world had to go! I used a mod by Velocitygrass to save a few layouts I like, screenshot, and Thanos snapped it. I'm leaving the post up for when I want to recreate certain ideas.
Last note: Not world building related. I finally decided to try Kinkyworld. I know I'm probably a dinosaur for never trying. But one week, I thought about it and said, "F it. I'm a grown woman. Look how old I am. Who is going to tell me how to play my own game? Dafuck." Not exaggerated. This is exactly what I thought before I journeyed over to Lover's Lab. For that reason, I'll have another story on my simblr about a man from Earth reincarnating into an ABO world. Lol.
Sigh
I've been taking a break from creating worlds with themes and have just been building. I found the missing world files I've been looking for, have entered creator's block with BookNook Mountain, tired of playing Topi Water Island(though it's been complete for months. I just haven't posted), need to fix a housing lot in Palette Street and make changes to routing, scrapped Staycation and move the lots to a new world, and finally become disillusioned with my old masterpiece, D7. All in all, I'm taking a break now. I don't want to do themes right now. I just want to build.
I created a new world that's just me mindlessly building and testing new techniques. I've been getting creative ideas from other simmers and doing recreations, but lately I find that real life buildings, floor plans, and decor are better learning tools for me. I look at real buildings and get inspired. I want to take certain parts and leave others. Ultimately, I'm finding that the more I learn, the less space I need to achieve results. I ended up putting the results of my builds in a world called High Town.
I try to reuse a few old builds from Staycation in it, but I'm rarely satisfied with the look and just remove them. High Town is Staycation's replacement at this point. Almost all community lots are versatile and multifunctional. Most professional buildings will use rabbit hole rugs. All in all, it's a nice change of pace. It's relaxing to just build without thinking about theme. Just make an interesting build. The only lots I'll have left soon is houses, which will be numerous.
This world is made for sims to play in. So, I look forward to populating the town. I'm also play testing as I go and the world is running better than all the other worlds I've created. There will be an unpopulated version, but I love all the packs that these YouTubers hate. Into the Future, University, etc. Katy Perry and Diesel is indispensable for certain items. Sorry not sorry, but I want rebels at my bar and pets can't play pool😊. No Horses! Again, sorry not sorry. I will share screenshots later.
I finished the booknook study on one of the lots(first two pictures above). The lot was nearly completed when I went to Edit Town mode to save and click! There goes the lights. The electricity in my entire building snapped off. I started over and made changes, since the first design wasn't meant to be.
Second booknook is a neighborhood with an outdoor cafe(last picture). It's an extremely common booknook style. It's actually complete, but with no color on the walls. I haven't decided on the final color scheme.
After the electric interruption happened, I decided to just focus on the booknooks on each lot. Building everything else will come later.
BookNook World
=Work in Progress=
Currently working on building the stage for performances. The theme was pretty obvious. Alice in Wonderland. This isn't the final draft and will probably be changed later. I want to avoid cc as much as possible unless I absolutely feel out of substitutes.
