Healing

You know how people say time heals all wounds? It’s true. Time is really the only thing that makes them better. But healing and time also brings a form of passive acceptance that can be really hard in and of itself. Every now and again I realize that I’m so accustomed to my mom not being here that it just feels so normal and I can’t even imagine what it would be like if she was here. And it SUCKS because even though it would be hard to always be hurting it hurts even more to feel like I’m numb and don’t care because I’m adjusted to how things are now and it makes me feel like the shittiest person.

Grad school is going to be great I’m just realizing that I get the great pleasure of introducing a lot of new people to my traumas because they turn out to be really fundamental in basic introductory conversations!!!!! As if I wasn’t anxious enough about meeting new people and making new friends and being in a new place this is really just icing on the cake.
