flameseongjae:
“Yeah?” He breathed a sigh of relief. “I was worried I might annoy you,” he admitted, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly. Seongjae nodded, looking thoughtful, before sighing with a soft hum. “It’s weird to think we age and they don’t. And, I mean… that we have so many half-siblings we don’t know about. It’s kind of… Do they even love our mortal parent? Or do they just have some super-god-dick that impregnates women wildly? Or super-god-vagina that sucks up - you know - uh - stuff - really well?” He shook his head. “These questions bug me at night,” he said sheepishly.
Seongjae simply watched him as he laughed, a soft smile tugging at the corners of his lips as he looked at him with pure adoration. His head was swimming, chest swelling with affection, and he was really having trouble trying to understand that he had found his first real crush, his first friend in middle school - and it had been in the most magical of places, a camp where he was surrounded by demigods for fuck’s sake. And he, himself, was one! It didn’t surprise him that Clyde was one. There was always something other-worldly about the smaller man, something not-quite-human about the way even the smallest of smiles on his face could be as warm and blinding as the sun. Must be an Apollo-kid thing, he thought. Seongjae moved his hand to card through the mint-green on top of his head, equally as soft as the other’s hands in his. “You should laugh more often. I like it when you laugh,” he said quietly, eyes warm and earnest as he met his gaze. It didn’t matter to him that his laugh didn’t quite sound like anything, that it was more silent gasps and gums showing - it was warm and it felt like summer when Clyde was happy. “I’ve been here for about six months now. I guess we’ll have to find a way to get you out of your cabin somethings, then, huh? Or maybe find me a way inside yours. We have, what, six years? Sixish years of anime marathons and cuddles to catch up on?”
“you’re not annoying me.” he could’ve just shaken his head in response to that, but he felt the need to type down what he actually wanted to say, wanting to reassure him that it was very okay with him. clyde scrunched up his face at the questions the other was asking, not very pleased to hear about godly private parts. “okay, not gonna answer those. but the sibling thing... it’s so weird. i have a younger sister, avi, and she’s... i don’t know. it feels like she’s my sister, but we look nothing alike. she’s ginger, for fuck’s sake.” he chuckled.
clyde let himself relax, and leaned into the touch of seongjae’s hand that ran through his hair. “i always have to stop myself. it hurts my throat.” he responded simply, showing a tiny and sort of sad smile. “unless you call that silent ugly wheeze a laugh, then sure.” he tried to joke. he was awful at this, talking about himself. nothing was ever about him. clyde lives his life being dependent of himself, and even with adoptive parents who cared about him a lot, he felt the need to not be a burden. he always cared more about others than he did about himself, that’s why it felt weird to be talking about himself.
“six months is an awfully long time for us not to run into each other.” he stated, still surprised that they reunited just today. clyde grinned, shaking his head in amusement. “oh, yeah. definitely. i feel offended that we had that long of a period without watching something together.”
