A Day in the Life of ME!

Week 1 down, 9 weeks of school to go!

Ok, so I made it through the first week of school. Did you all survive? I was so excited on Thursday when all 3 kids were at school, that I did a dance. A literal dance. Then it hit me! Tuesdays & Thursdays for the next 9 weeks, I will be spending 3 hours a day driving kids to & from school. 3 kids at 3 different schools in 3 different locations. Then I remember the torture of it. I also then realised that for the other 3 days of the week, will see me spending 2 hours a day driving 2 kids to & from school. Reality hit me hard!

I started receiving emails from the schools with permission slips so the kids could go to various activities & that really makes you aware they are back at school. Turns out week 1 was nothing. Week 2 is going to have me running like a chook with its head cut off. Monday is the start of Playgroup with the toddler, Tuesday night we have a ‘Welcome back BBQ’ at our son’s high school, Wednesday he has a full day swimming carnival. Friday night we need to split in 2 because our son has tutoring & our daughter has her ‘Welcome back BBQ’ at her school. Every day & night sees us somewhere or doing something at home. I am launching my business this week too. 

Anyway, on the positive side, we made it through the first week & the kids loved it, so all in all, we had a successful week.

Welcome to a day in my LIFE!

So I woke up this morning & felt like something was missing.... I realised that what was missing was BLOGGING! I haven’t done it in a while & I missed just writing down everything that was in my mind. I don’t do it for others to read, it's more just getting the words out of my mind & onto the page. Of course, in the good old days we would keep a diary or journal but now blogging is the new diary. Of course, I will be doing it for my VA business but that is more professional & this is more about my thoughts & processes. 

So who am I? I am a 40ish mum of 3. I live my life for my kids but I am now just about to take my life back by doing my own business. I am becoming myself again. A strong & good enough person! I want to embrace the next stage of my life. My mid-life crisis??? My older kids will be gone in 5-10 years & I want to have something to hold onto. I want to be a good role model, especially for my daughter. I want her to see that women can be mums & successful businesswomen. I want her to see that I can be here for her but also be making a strong income to help support our family. I want my husband to be able to step back from his business a little so he can be more of the father he wants to be. Motherhood is the most difficult role in life & we make ourselves feel so shameful for wanting to have a life too.

When I became a mother, I became the third most important person to myself. I put my child then children first, my husband & then myself. I have done this for almost 13 years now. It’s my turn to be number 1! This is why I am taking the step off the cliff & becoming a businesswoman on my own 2 feet. I am terrified but I know I can do it. I AM GOOD ENOUGH!

SO, those are my thoughts at the moment. I don’t expect anyone to read them but it feels good to type them out. I will be leaving the link on my Insta & FB pages. Maybe someone will read them & think, ‘I need to make the jump too & make myself number 1 too’. Others might read it & think what a load of rubbish. I don’t mind either way. This makes me feel good & that’s all that matters!
