All of my paperwork for the greg Jennings foundation is all filled out and faxed over. This June I will be assisting in coaching the football camp he hosts here in kalamazoo. Beyond excited to get my feet wet and add this to my resumé.

This past weekend I was lucky enough to attend the Western Michigan coaching clinic. It was good exposure to what the program here is all about and how they run everything. I have to say that PJ Fleck is a pretty amazing man in that his positive attitude just fires you up and he has managed to turn around what was pretty much a horrible program in just two years. I also got to see tape of their run game and how they move the ball on the ground. Next step, cap 3 certification and start interning this summer and next fall.
First Entry CAP and Clinic
So this is my first entry in this new blog. The blog is going to basically be just a breakdown of major events as I try to become a college football coach. So let's start with the two first events.
1. I passed my first CAP exam. CAP stands for Coaches Advancement Program. In the state of Michigan, there are 6 levels of certification for this exam, I have now passed the first and now meet the basic requirements to coach high school athletics in the eyes of the state. It's not ideal, and not my end goal, but this will help me land some internships and build my resume`.
2. As of today, I am registered to attend the 2015 WMU Football Coaches Clinic which will take place April 3rd and 4th. I am super stoked for it, as well as pretty scared. I am going to essentially be a student and non-coach, surrounded by a bunch of current high school and youth sports coaches. BUT! This is my way to rub elbows with local coaches, build a rapport, and maybe line up a summer internship to better learn the coaching ropes. Cross your fingers!
