Well it’s official

You’re probably hearing this from every blog you follow now but Tumblr is pulling the plug on adult content

In my last text previous post I outlined where you could find me if Tumblr has another “accident”, so with this now being official I’ll reiterate:

Guess I’ll keep up the redirects as long as possible and go down with the ship.

Dawn of the Final Day

Gonna start cleaning this blog of any no-good-very-bad posts today tomorrow and amidst my tiredness try to get the final stuff up on FA and such, then soon update my twitter.

I guess that’s kind of the issue with twitter compared to tumblr, in a sense all messages are public unless you’re going through DM’s.

Feel free to send things as lewd as you’d like here for now. I might make a curiouscat or something to replace asks?

This whole business makes me realise just how many cool artists I had *only* followed on tumblr.

We at Piczel.tv are sad to see Tumblr’s stance against NSFW artists, and would like to offer up our services as an alternative to Tumblr’s arbitrary shadowbans, deletions, and general stupidity.

We’re happy to host adult artists who are looking for a new place to call home, and are planning a few key upgrades and features. 

Effectively immediately though, our gallery upload size restriction has been removed, to be likely raised to 10MB in the near future for non-premium users. As always, we support image sets, and don’t compress anything. Firstly, for those that have been using tumblr as a portfolio, you’ll need a way to download all of your art, if you don’t have backups somewhere else. We are planning a tool for Piczel.tv that will import zip files full of images, including titles and descriptions if we are able. Second, we’re planning the following upgrades to piczel in the coming weeks: 1. Bulk upload/import to your piczel.tv gallery 2. Gallery UI cleanup and improvements 3. Gallery performance improvements 4. Gallery comments with in line image and custom emote support 5. Site-wide PMs (in the vein of tumblr asks, but better) 6. Archive button for your piczel account Don’t forget to follow us on twitter, we may be deleted on the 17th with everyone else. There are murmurs going around that says tumblr is purging (any and all) nsfw blogs due to the app being taken off iOS services.

If it turns out to be true, then in the event this blog gets deleted (again) I’ll put the word out via my site, patreon, FA, or IB, and probably go back to posting on those sites from then on. I’ll also probably make an art twitter but for now you can find a more general one here. I’ll encourage you to check whether your favourite blogs are still available once in a while, tumblr won’t let you know otherwise.

It’s a shame, despite its flaws I like tumblr as a platform, but I guess execs gonna do what they’re gonna do.

That got nuked with the rest of em and I haven’t made a new one (yet). cobaltsnow.art functions as a hub page though, and has a sfw gallery. I want to eventually move sfw art back into a blog format too.
