Hellboy has a Hawaiian shirt on and is sitting in a tanning chair on a beach with a lit cigar in his mouth. A boombox is nearby playing music with a fruity drink on a table next to him. Vacationing was nice but he was low-key starting to get bored. But he felt he deserved a long break. He didn't get these often.

She didn't take breaks often herself. Hunting for a nightmare god seemed never ending. Shen was off doing whatever Qilin did on break. To her surprise, there was what appeared to be a demon of sorts. No glamour or anything. Needless to say, Brooke was intrigued. The blonde came over rather boldly.

"Heya there, come 'ere often?" She asked a slightly flirty tone in her accent, British it sounded like.

Hellboy doesn't bother taking off his sunglasses as he looks at her briefly then looks back at the water before speaking. "Not as much as I'd like. If you're lookin' for someone to help with a paranormal or supernatural problem, you're outta luck." He said in case of the possibility of her offering a job. "You on vacation too or do ya live around here?"

Someone had brought in what looked like a little red raccoon like creature in a pet carrier. A female, she had been found with a rather big hat. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary, until the little beast opened her mouth.

"Hello? Um...can I get out of this carrier please?" She asked, pawing at the grated door.

Hellboy steps through the door to be greeted by a pet carrier. "The hell?" He asks rhetorically before picking it up and looking inside. He then looks around the hallway, asking "Did someone forget their pet?" He then looks back at the carrier with a raised eyebrow as he heard a voice. "It talks? What uh ... what's your name?"

She grinned widely. "Hi! I'm Desari! And hey I'm not a pet! I'm a Daemon! I'm an essential part of a person's soul!" Her ears flattened, "although I don't really know where that person is and I've been traveling through several dimensions to find him but..."

The red panda put her little hat with goggles on.

"Desari of House Heisenberg! At your service!"

Hellboy listens to what she has to say. Watching her put on her hat, he had to admit, was amusing. He's heard of daemons before so he at least knew what that was. Looking at her, Hellboy talks to her through the little gate between them. "Well then Desari, whatchya doin' in a place like this?" He had to wonder how she got here and it would probably be good to know.

Hellboy picks up the rose and reads the note. Flipping it over to see if there was anything else proved nothing. He gently observed the pretty black rose in his hand and gave a smirk. “Gotta say, this is a first.” He said to himself.

He never had a secret admirer before. At least not like this.

“Surprise it is.” Hellboy said as he poured a cup from a random bottle. He remembered when both organizations traded agents and creatures like baseball cards. But that was a long time ago. Things were a lot different now.

“You don’t gotta go if you don’t wanna.” He said as he handed Candice the full glass. “We could send someone else to do it.” Deep down he wanted to go. Maybe see what new things they got going on over there. The Bureau had an idea that the Foundation might be keeping tabs considering they have one of their former members.

Hellboy thought for a moment before a smirk appeared on his face. “We could send Johann over.”

“I have no intention of going back to that place of horrors. Theres nothing for me there but more “testing”. I wanna use this so called gift for the good of others. Crystal healing actually works when I do it, and on more than just a spiritual level” she looked at her hands, “as for sending Johann, by all means. I know you arent his biggest fan, and maybe we can get Carson here in exchange for him”

“Knowin’ him, they’ll probably give us the therapist if we promise to keep Johann.” Hellboy took a sip of his beer. “It ain’t exactly a picnic here either. Wait until you’re assigned a mission.”

It was work he was accustomed to. But he was born into it so it was all he knew. He also knew not everyone was into it nor are they all cut out for it. He’s seen plenty of people who thought they were tough end up wetting themselves over entry level field work.

“By the way, you meet everyone yet?”

“I’m fully aware it isnt. But at least I’m not being poked and prodded at. I dont hear the screams of test subjects here. And I havent. I’ve been mostly keeping to myself. Kinda feeling like a fish out of water here if that makes sense”

“That’s fair. Like I said, we won’t do that. Not to you at least.” Hellboy said with a dry smirk. “Most of our crew is approachable. Oh, fish out of water reminds me, have you met Abe? He’s my favorite nerd.”

War didn’t mention to Hellboy that in very occasions a virus would break through her natural defenses. “I mean, there are only so many times I can kick Meyers’ ass in the training room before it starts to get old. He keeps asking me to help him with his hand to hand though.”

"The day he gets good at that is the day I quit smokin'." Hellboy said with a cigar in his mouth. "I'm glad he ain't askin' me anymore. Always gets pissy when I don't go by the book."

“I can’t even get sick!” War was pacing in HB’s room, cats weaving between her legs. “Why do I have to be quarantined too?!”

"I don't either unless it's otherworldly. Total bullshit." Hellboy replied as he repeatedly bounced a ball against a wall.

“They wouldn’t dare. Besides, they don’t gotta reason to. We’ve saved their asses a few times. Hate to say it but they’ve done the same for us a few times too.”

Hellboy took a moment to collect his thoughts from what Cadence told him.

“Well shit. I’m sorry to hear that. Really I am. Listen, I know how it feels to lose people ya like, hell even love. It’s an unfortunate line of work our lives been thrown into.” He didn’t bother with smoking the cigar yet. Felt inappropriate in the moment. “Wasn’t your fault. But if ya don’t wanna talk about it, I won’t force you to. As my buddy Abe would say in a time like this: if there’s trouble, all us freaks have is each other.”

With that, Hellboy put the cigar in his mouth and lit it.

Cadence nodded. “Yeah, I wish it had been more like that with them. But they keep us all separated most of the time”.

It baffled her how much things were different here. Here she was a person, just with a gift in a sense. With the Foundation she was just an object or a weapon for study. Stripped of her name and given a number and a code name…a means to an end.

“I dont wanna go back. But I dont wanna put your or anyone else here in danger” caddy admitted.

Normally she hated the smell of smoke, originally thought she was allergic to it. But with the scent now came a feeling of security, of what she would think of as home.

“And you don’t gotta.” Hellboy said with a puff of smoke. “Don’t worry, the Bureau and the Foundation are on good terms. They’re … different. But we got the same goal.”

Odd to talk to someone who knows the inside of the SCP Foundation so well. Hellboy had his fair share of them and knew a good amount. But this girl lived it. As one of their anomalies too. Granted, Hellboy was an anomaly himself but he ended up with the B.P.R.D.

“Weird that they do that with people like you. With people, we’re more lax. Gotta give us a reason to lock you up. By the way, how’s Dr. Bright? Haven’t spoken to him in ages.”

Cadence had her reasons for hating Bright but she wouldnt let that get in the way.

“Last I heard hes fine. Crazy as ever, but as far as fine goes for Bright, well…hes good”.

He had been part of the plot to get Gav killed. Not directly but he had a hand in it. Clef had an even bigger target on his back in Caddys eyes. She had trusted him, and he had sold all her secrets to Gears. She had a complicated history with a good portion of the doctors there. Not all of them were bad, but a good portion of them were.

“I had a therapist there, Dr. O'Reilly. I wonder what hes been up to these days…” she hadnt seen him in years.

“Crazy as ever sounds about right. Well our director ain’t much better. Don’t tell ‘em I said that. Or do. Don’t care now that I think about it.”

Bright was an interesting person to say the least. Even talking to him made it clear. Hellboy had met him in person once, maybe twice at most. Bright did like Hellboy’s guns. But like everyone else, Hellboy didn’t let him use them. The day he hands over his guns is the day Bright hands over his necklace.

“Wait you had a therapist? I wish they’d assign me one here.” Hellboy took a few drags of his cigar as he thought. “Ya know what I need? A drink. You thirsty?”

“I did. Dr. O'Reilly was really nice. He cared about his subjects, tried to have the whole take away the identity and give them a number thing abolished. The O-5 council didnt take too well to that” Caddy cocked her head, “I’d love one actually. I’m shocked they dont give you one here. After everything you guys to through and see…why the hell not?”.

She knew they all had their deep fears and traumas. It would make sense there would be someone here they could talk to.

"Never thought of that, to be honest." Hellboy said. "But yeah, we should definitely have some kinda person to talk to. I know some people here who could use it. Especially the newbies."

Hellboy walked over to a drawer in his room. He opened it and grabbed a few bottles. "Any preferences?" He asked while gesturing with a bottle.
