Shocker: No One Knows — Anthony Ivo/Joseph Martin Fanfic With Hinted Lex Luthor/Slade Wilson
Joseph shares a conversation with Anthony about his memory
[Drabble Prompt: I can’t believe you didn’t remember]
It had been three hours since Anthony was found in his cell covered in bruises. He refused to have an examination done. Joseph was pissed. He demanded that Alex pull the tapes, and Slade waited outside the interrogation room, watching as Joseph attempted to take Anthony's statement. It was about to be a living hell for everyone involved, and anyone who came near Joseph was already feeling the heat.
“You don't remember what happened? You're covered in bruises, and you have to remember what happened to you?” Joseph remarked as he paced back and forth in the interrogation room, swallowing hard as he tried to calm himself down before he turned his attention back to Anthony, who looked worse for wear. “Talk to me.”
“I don't remember.” Anthony sighed as he repeated this fact for what seemed to be the hundredth time already, shaking his head as he rested his head against the table he had been shackled to. “I don't want to talk about this anymore.”
“Joseph.” Slade called out as he stepped into the interrogation room, knowing at this point if he didn't intervene, Joseph would really lose his shit. “Let him be.”
“I need something.” Joseph reasoned as he stepped out of the room, his eyes lingering on Anthony before he turned his attention towards Slade. “Did Lex have any luck with the cameras?”
“Not yet.” Slade responded as he did his best to try and calm Joseph down, not missing the heat that came off the man as his temper started to flare. “Joseph.”
“He says he can't remember what happened.” Joseph acknowledged as he ran a hand through his hair, removing his hand rather fast when he noticed how hot his hands were before he turned his attention back to Slade. “Why?”
“The shocks could have something to do with it.” Slade admitted with an overall sense of hesitation, not missing the look Joseph had on his face, which prompted him to continue his explanation. “If they're strong enough to force him into unconsciousness, there is a decent chance they can cause a lapse in memory.”
“A lapse?!” Joseph screamed as he snapped at Slade, slamming his hands down on a nearby table, which caused the top of it to melt before he turned his attention back towards Slade, who stood his ground. “Find out what happened to him. I'll handle the rest.”
“I can't protect you if you melt another guy's face off!” Slade yelled as Joseph headed for the exit, letting out a sigh before he walked in to confront Anthony about what happened. “We'll pull the tapes. You'll be moved until we know what happened. You have my word that this won't be brushed under the rug.”
“I take it by the camera flashing Alex is all over this?” Anthony asked as he stared at the camera in the interrogation room, not needing verbal confirmation to know this to be the case. “Of course he is.”
“He cares.” Slade remarked as he reflected on how Alex had reacted to his own assault, letting out a sigh as he thought about Joseph and how he was taking this situation. “They both do.”
“I know.” Anthony responded as he ran his hand through his hair, taking another look at the camera before he spoke again. “Almost too much.”

Let Me Buy You A Drink Then — Anthony Ivo/Joseph Martin and Lex Luthor/Slade Wilson Fanfic
Joseph makes a pass at Anthony
[Drabble Prompt: Pick up lines only work when I’m drunk.]
Slade had made a lot of bad choices when he was in his teens. He had this idea in his head that credit cards were basically free money because that's how the ad campaigns made it sound. It never occurred to him that he would have to pay back that money until he was presented with the bills for several maxed-out credit cards. He made a mistake, and even after half a decade he still had a massive amount of debt that seemed almost impossible to pay off, so when he saw an ad that would grant him a bit of extra cash, he decided to take it, but he didn't take it alone. He had to drag Joseph down with him because there was no way in hell he was working some low-level security job for some kid's birthday alone. At least the kid was kind of cute. He was Anthony Ivo's secret son, or at least that's what was rumored. Slade wasn't sure what to believe, but it paid well, and he was allowed as much cake as he wanted, so he couldn't complain too much about that. Joseph could, though.
Unlike Slade, Joseph didn't need the money; rather, he just came for the free cake and the promise of free booze after the party was over. It was a simple task, and once the party started, the two of them were left with a lot of downtime. Most of the guests were friends of Ivo's or employed at Amazotech. Alexander, the kid whose birthday party this was, sat in the corner alone most of the time with his eyes trained on the screen that was in front of him. It was clear to tell he didn't care much for the noise of the party itself. Ivo, on the other hand, was having a blast. Joseph shook his head a bit as Slade walked back over him after making another one of his rounds.
“You know the kid doesn't seem too much younger than you. You should go tell him happy birthday. I mean, he's all alone over there, and who knows.. you might get a tip out of it before the night is over.” Joseph mused as he tried to offer Slade a bit of encouragement, not missing how on the fence Slade seemed about the whole situation, which prompted Alex to be a bit more forceful. “...or get your tip wet at least. You have been staring at him since we got here. I know you gotta be at least a little interested in him. I mean he's cute. He's not my type, but I can see the appeal.”
“He doesn't really seem like the social type.” Slade responded as he continued to watch Alex from a distance, not even seeming to recognize the smile that found its way onto his face as he watched someone try and talk to Alex only for the kid to snap at them until they backed off before turning his attention back to his laptop. “I kind of doubt that this was even his idea.”
“Probably not.” Joseph mused with a half-hearted shrug of his shoulders, clearing his throat a bit before he nudged Slade towards Alex in an almost playful manner. “Go on.. I'll cover for you.”
Slade was a bit apprehensive about the idea at first. Joseph could tell by how he rolled his shoulders back, but Slade still made a move. Joseph watched as Slade made his way over to the kid. He couldn't hear what the two of them were saying, but he could see how Alexander looked at him. He watched Slade rub the back of his neck awkwardly as Alexander eyed him up and down, but then Slade pointed to Alex's screen, and in an instant the kid's face lit up. He practically pulled Slade into the seat next to him. Joseph had never seen someone's mouth move so fast, but Slade played into it. He sat there and listened. Joseph shook his head when Alexander snapped at one of the servers and ordered for both himself and Slade. He could tell Alexander ordered for them both by how Slade reacted, but maybe that's what Slade needed. He needed someone in his life that was above him, and maybe if Slade played his cards right, that could end up in the literal sense as well.
Joseph continued to make his rounds as usual all while Alexander treated Slade like his own personal playmate. It was fine up until Anthony noticed, and he didn't look all too happy about what he was seeing. Joseph watched as Anthony approached Alexander’s table and exchanged a few words with the kid. He watched as Anthony eyed Slade up and down, but whatever the kid said seemed to be enough to make him back off. Slade looked stressed, but how Alexander wrapped his arms around Slade and directed his attention made him relax rather fast. Slade had it made.
Joseph liked to believe he was a decent friend. It was times like this that proved it, as he decided to make a pass at Anthony in order to ensure that Slade would have a decent chance with the birthday boy. Anthony was at the bar, and he was drinking a bit more than usual, no doubt because his baby boy had taken an interest in the man he had hired to work security at his party. Joseph was subtle. He had plenty of practice at this with all the so-called straight men he had slept with over the years, but Anthony Ivo wasn't straight. He had read the articles. Alexander had some serious daddy issues based on how many similarities Anthony shared with Slade, but that was none of his business. He was here as a favor to his boss.
“Is it the kid's birthday or mine? I sure as hell would love the chance to blow you instead of some candles.” Joseph remarked as he looked at Anthony, not missing how Anthony choked on his drink because he was laughing. “What's so funny?”
“Pick up lines only work on me when I'm drunk.” Anthony responded with a slight cough, clearing his throat as he looked Joseph up and down. “Give it a few hours.”
“Let me buy you a drink then.” Joseph reasoned as he inched closer to him, not missing how Anthony continued to laugh at him. “Come on.. I'm not that funny.”
“Drinks are free here. It's an open bar.” Anthony sighed as he had the bartender refill his glass, taking a sip from his drink before he spoke again. “Give it a few hours.”
Joseph watched Anthony as he made his rounds, much like he watched Alexander with Slade, who now shared a piece of cake together as they continued to watch the screen in front of them. Anthony seemed annoyed by it, which led him to drink more, and when he was just drunk enough, Joseph made another pass at him. It didn't go over quite how he wanted, but the outcome was just the same. Anthony took Joseph to his place. The two of them had sex. Joseph left and went back to the party where Alex and Slade had vanished together. He wouldn't learn until that next day that the four of them had wound up in the same apartment together. If Joseph had left a few minutes sooner, he would have passed Slade in the hall as Alex dragged him to his bedroom. It made for a fun conversation at least.
“I didn't see you leave last night.” Joseph mused as he leaned back in his chair, a smile on his face when he saw how red Slade’s cheeks were at the acknowledgement. “You want to fill me in on what happened?”
“Alex had a bit too much to drink, and I offered to take him outside. He uh.. He liked how I looked in the moonlight, and well, I went home with him.” Slade explained as he rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly, not missing the look he was handed in return and the obvious assumptions that were presented, which put Slade on the defensive. “I didn't fuck the kid. We watched a movie and went to bed. I uh.. I got his number, and we have a date this weekend. The kid likes video games, and he was playing a first-person shooter at the party when I approached him. I mentioned what I knew about it, and next thing I knew, he was making me play with him.”
“I'm sure Anthony loved seeing you at his place this morning.” Joseph chuckled, which only seemed to stress Slade out further, clearing his throat a bit before he moved on. “Where are you going to take the kid for the date?”
“I'm not.” Slade sighed as he crossed his arms, taking notice of the look on the other man's face, which made him hesitate as he knew he assumed he was going to cancel the date to avoid conflict with Anthony. “Alex told me to be ready by seven Saturday night, and he would send someone to collect me for him. He ordered drinks for me last night. The kid likes to be in control.”
“Don't fuck this up.” Joseph laughed as he moved to his feet, shaking his face at Slade’s embarrassment. “I'm serious. You need a kid like Alexander around. It'll make you into a better man.”
“Alex.” Slade corrected as he made eye contact with Joseph, unable to hide that there was a certain level of protectiveness in his voice as he spoke. “Lexie doesn't like it when people call him by his full name.”
“Lexie?” Joseph asked in disbelief, taking notice of how Slade ran his hands through his hair and avoided looking at him as he acknowledged the nickname. “You're attached already.”

Called Out — Anthony Ivo/Joseph Martin Fanfic With Lex Luthor/Slade Wilson (18+)
Anthony escapes and snaps at Joseph when he comes to collect him
[Drabble Prompt: This is where you impress me, right?]
Jar — Anthony Ivo/Joseph Martin Fanfic With Lex Luthor/Slade Wilson
Joseph tries to impress Anthony but it doesn't end well for him
[Drabble Prompt: Take notes, sweetheart.]
“What did he do to make you hate him so much? I mean, the bastard could do more to make my life easier, but you usually don't care too much about that.” Slade questioned as he watched Alex apply super glue to a jar of chemicals to seal it shut, shaking his head a bit when he saw the intense look in Alex's eyes. “Alex.”
“Did you see how he looked at Ivo on our last mission?” Alex asked in a manner that made him sound more like a child that was upset over the idea that he would have to share his daddy than an adult who didn't want his former boss to have a life outside of him, keeping his focus on the task at hand as he let his sadistic side slip through the cracks. “I need to crush his spirit.”
“You concern me sometimes, and before you ask, yes, I'm more than a little aware of your involvement in Ivo's other relationships, which is something I'm choosing not to address for my own sanity.” Slade mused as he rested his head on Alex's shoulder, burying his face in his neck for a few seconds and inhaling rather shamelessly before Alex grew annoyed enough to bat him away. “You're kind of a dick for this. I like the new cologne by the way.”
“As long as he doesn't get any, then I'm happy.” Alex responded as he chose to ignore the comment about how he smelled, knowing full well that if he started that conversation, he would end up with his pants down to his ankles before it was over. “Ask him to come here for me. …. I'll let you have some later.”
“You better mean dick. I have no use for the chemicals. Unless you count whatever chemicals that make you hard for me, then I have plenty of use for them.” Slade remarked as he eyed Alex up and down as if he were something to be devoured, licking his lips slightly as Alex buried his face in his hands before he activated his comms to do what was asked of him. “Martin, come down to the lab. I have a task for you.”
“Is it important?” Joseph asked over the comms in a manner that Slade could only describe as forceful and urgent, doing his absolute best not to come off disrespectful as he tried to refuse in favor of whatever he was doing. “I'm kind of in the middle of something.”
“It doesn't matter if it's important or not. I gave you a direct order. I don't care if you have to bring Ivo with you, just get your ass down here.” Slade responded in a manner that made it clear who was in charge, immediately shutting his comms back up after he heard Joseph confirm that he would be right there. “I swear.. No respect.”
“Those two spend far too much time together.” Alex mumbled as he looked at the jar of chemicals one more time, pausing for a moment as the realization suddenly hit him of why Slade had specifically mentioned Ivo, which made him borderline homicidal and prompted Slade to put a hand on his shoulder before he decided to do something much worse than this. “… I hope he ends up with chemical burns.”
It took a matter of minutes for Joseph to arrive with Anthony, but the second the two of them made it to the lab, Anthony started to make himself at home. He stole Slade's chair and rolled up next to Alex, whom he immediately pulled into his arms as if he were still the teen he had taken in all those years ago rather than a grown man with an independent career. Slade wanted to complain about the stolen chair, but it just gave him an excuse to sit in Alex's lap when he got tired of standing, so he didn't think too much about it. Alex wanted to humiliate Joseph in front of Ivo, and that's what he was going to get. If the jar didn't work, then he knew some shit that definitely would.
“Now what did you call me down here for?” Joseph asked with an overall sense of annoyance as he watched Anthony and Alex, seeming more than a bit distracted and eager to leave. “I was in the middle of—”
“Open this.” Slade instructed as he slid over the jar, not missing how Joseph kind of laughed to himself as he picked up the jar almost as if he couldn't believe he was called down here for this. “You think you're hot shit? Open the jar. Alex needs it for his work."
“Can't you do it?” Joseph asked as he sat the jar down on the table again, not missing the look Slade handed him in return, which made him relentless and pick the jar back up. “Take notes, sweetheart. You can add this to my long list of skills.”
Joseph didn't need to look at Anthony to know he rolled his eyes. It wasn't difficult to open a jar. He had opened thousands of them over the course of his life. Joseph didn't think twice about it as he picked up the jar and tried to open it. It didn't budge. He tried again. Nothing. He tried to laugh it off, but the harder he tried, the more obvious it became that he was struggling. It was embarrassing. He had just had a whole conversation with Anthony about his better qualities, and then this happened. It was humiliating, and worst of all, he could hear Alex in the background talking to Anthony about how much better Slade was at this shit.
“What the hell?.. I don't.. It won't come off.” Joseph stammered out as he desperately tried to break the seal to no avail, a clear sense of panic in his eyes as he started to realize he couldn't open the jar and was making a fool of himself in front of the man he had been trying so hard to impress. “Is this some kind of joke?”
“Just thought you could get it off.” Slade responded as he raised his hand in a mock surrender as he took a step back, doing his best not to smile too much as he continued to watch Joseph struggle. “You're supposed to be strong.”
“There has to be something wrong with this thing.” Joseph muttered as his hands started to heat up in frustration, seeming more than a bit surprised when the jar was abruptly ripped from his hand. “Anthony—”
“Relax before you cause a damn accident.” Anthony scolded before Joseph had a chance to complain further, walking past everyone to Alex's workstation as if it were his lab instead of Alex's lab. “It just takes a bit of… intelligence.”
Joseph watched as Anthony tried to open the jar like normal. It didn't work, and that led him to mix a few chemicals together. Anthony dipped a knife into the solution and ran it underneath the seal until the glue dissolved. He popped it off easily. Joseph felt embarrassed, especially when he watched Anthony pull Alex close to him as he handed him the jar of chemicals back. It was a domestic moment between the two, or at least until words were exchanged that made it clear that it wasn't as domestic as the two would make it seem. Even now Anthony still treated Alex like a kid.
“I don't want to deal with another incident while I'm locked up in a cell, so behave yourself.” Anthony responded as he ruffled Alex's hair much to the young man's annoyance, cracking a smile before he turned his attention towards Slade. “Don't encourage him.”
“If it gets me laid, it gets me laid.” Slade remarked in an almost too blunt tone, not missing the look both Alex and Joseph threw at him over his comment. “What?”
“You were in on this?” Joseph asked with his voice raised, almost immediately regretting his decision when he saw the look in Slade’s eyes, which told him he was reaching his limit. “Why?”
“Nevermind that.” Anthony mused as he decided to just move on, pausing for a moment before he decided to take a stab at Joseph's ego. “Not all men can open jars.”
“Ouch..” Slade breathed as he watched Joseph's shoulders slump at the insult, clearing his throat a bit before he turned his attention to Alex, who was in the middle of a conversation with Alex. “So.. Is it later now?”
“Seriously?” Alex asked as he took notice of how desperate Slade seemed to have his insides rearranged, biting the inside of his cheek as he checked the time before he spoke again. “You know what? Fine.. Not here.. Come on.. Joseph, make sure Ivo ends up back in his cell unharmed, or else Slade will make your life a living hell!”
“So he can have sex but I can't.” Anthony acknowledged with mild amusement as he watched Alex leave with Slade, not needing verbal confirmation to know what was going on between them. “If I catch one mark on him, then Alex's dick won't be the only thing he'll find up his ass. Is sodomy still a crime? Would it even count as sodomy if I shove the sword all the way through to his throat? I'm serious here.”
“You scare me sometimes.” Joseph muttered as he looked Anthony up and down, not missing the look in his eyes as he stared at Alex's computer, which has a picture of him and Slade together as the screensaver. “Anthony—”
“Yeah.. I can do a lot worse than shoving his own sword up his ass.” Anthony remarked in a manner that made "homicidal" sound like an understatement, taking notice of how Joseph had started to inch towards the computer to turn it off with an even more concerned look on his face. “Don't look at me like that.”

[Drabble Prompt: I work pretty hard around here, but you get all the credit]
Most assumed that after the invasion, Task Force X was dismantled, and for the most part, this was true, but that didn't mean Joseph vanished or went to work for some civilian job like Slade did. No, he was transferred to a different unit, and his work continued, and Anthony cut a deal that would allow his release under the condition that he did some community service. It could be said that the kind of service the government wanted from him wasn't traditional, but Ivo didn't seem to mind much. The two of them were paired together so Joseph could be sure Anthony didn't get carried away and continued to abide by the terms he agreed to. It was fine. It was fine until it wasn't. Joseph should have known Anthony would crack under the pressure sooner or later. He just didn't think it would be because of this.
Their most recent mission had involved some kids. Joseph had been hesitant to act, as he knew his radiation could make the kids sick, but Anthony didn't hesitate. The second he saw this little boy with glasses and messy hair crying out for someone to save him, he took off. Joseph didn't even have a chance to talk to him about what to do. Anthony could have gotten himself killed. The place was up in flames, but he ran in there and brought the boy out safely in his arms. He didn't even seem to notice his own burns until after it was all over. Joseph was on his ass in an instant. The kid looked like Alex. Not in the sense that the two of them could be related, but the glasses and messy hair were more than enough to set Anthony off. It would take Anthony a while to recover, but at least the kid was fine. In fact, he was more than fine, and once the media found out about it, it was all over the news. Joseph found himself at the center of it all as it was his mission. The kid didn't know who he was, but when has the media ever cared much about what the child has to say?
“You're mad. I can tell. Talk to me, Anthony.” Joseph noted as he watched Anthony repair some damaged pieces of his suit, not missing how Anthony refused to so much as look at him, which prompted him to keep talking. “It's all over the news how you saved that kid. I don't understand the reason you're so upset over this—”
“No— No. You're all over the news. I didn't even receive so much as my name mentioned.” Anthony responded with a certain level of sternness in his tone that made Joseph hesitate, shaking his head as he looked up from his work to face Joseph and to bite his head off in a metaphorical sense. “I saved that kid. You just stood there. I saved that kid.”
“You know we can't let the media know that.” Joseph whispered as he tried to calm Anthony down, not missing how he slammed the screwdriver down with such force the whole table shook. “You killed people, Anthony.”
“It was an accident!” Anthony snapped as he ran his hands over his face, flinching back when Joseph rested his hand on his shoulder in an attempt to comfort him. “Don't touch me.”
Joseph could understand the reason Anthony was upset, but at the same time he had no right to demand recognition for his actions. He cut a deal, and that deal came with stipulations. Joseph understood what it was like to have someone else take credit for his work. He had been in the military too long not to know what that was like, but he had never acted out because of it. He knew he should have expected this. Anthony was unstable. Anthony used to be a celebrity. Of course he would want credit, and when he didn't receive what he thought he deserved, he kind of snapped.
Joseph withdrew his hand slowly and allowed Anthony the moment he needed before he continued their conversation. In fact, he waited until Anthony started to work on his suit again before he continued their conversation. Was it the best course of action to wait until the man had a screwdriver in his hand to talk to him? Probably not, but Joseph set out to prove that it wasn't just those with blonde hair that were idiots. He knew Slade needed him to be a bit dumber in his life with how he stuck out with Alex on a routine basis, but that was a conversation for another time.
“Your burns, alright?” Joseph questioned as he tried to change the subject, not missing how Anthony once again refused to acknowledge his existence, which prompted him to continue. “The doctor said not to—”
“I would like to remind you that I am also a doctor.” Anthony responded with a clear sense of aggression to his tone, not daring to look up from his work as he knew if he did he wouldn't be able to contain himself. “Just let me fix this before I decide to fix you instead.”
“I think the radiation might have already done that but that's neither here nor there.” Joseph muttered as he leaned against the table, taking notice of when Anthony sat the screwdriver down once more. “Anthony?”
“The world couldn't be that fortunate, could it?” Anthony asked with an almost dangerous smile on his face as he looked over at Joseph, looking Joseph up and down as his voice dropped into something far more dangerous as he spoke again. “Get out.”
In truth, it should have been considered shameful how fast Joseph left, but he was far past the point of shame at this point. His actions in there made Slade look like James Dean or whoever the most desirable person was now. He would unpack his issues later. Right now he had a whole new issue to deal with, and that was the fact he had become aroused from how Anthony spoke to him.

I Had A Dream About You — Anthony Ivo/Joseph Martin Fanfic With Hints Of Lex Luthor/Slade Wilson
Joseph tries to romance Ivo but it doesn't end how he expects it to
[Drabble Prompt: I had a dream about you.]
Yeah, there was not a doubt in Joseph's mind that when it came to love, he had the most horrible luck out there. It had been like this his entire life, from experimentation with strangers in the bars he snuck into in his teens to brief hook-ups with married men who refused to acknowledge his existence out of fear that their wives would find out the truth. It never worked out for him. He had been beaten and hospitalized and had even ended up in court for harassment on more than a few occasions. It was bad. He had even started to believe that love wasn't meant for him when he met Anthony Ivo. He couldn't even use words to describe how this man made him feel. The version Anthony Joseph met wasn't the same man most knew him as. He had lost it all, and Joseph was ready to trade the world just to have a chance for him. When he fell, he fell hard. He just wished Anthony felt the same way towards him.
“You know I had a dream about you last night?” Joseph mused with a smile on his face as he leaned against Anthony's cell door, hesitating for a moment or two before he spoke again after Anthony showed no interest and let alone bothered to respond to him. “You want to hear what it was about?”
“Do I have much of a choice?” Anthony asked with a small sigh as he turned his attention towards the door where Joseph stood, laying his magazine down as he decided to entertain this little conversation. “I'm waiting.”
“I dreamed that the two of us were at the beach. The two of us had dinner on a blanket. It was late. The moon was out. You could see waves riding up onto the shore. It was like in the movies.” Joseph noted as he laid out his dream, with his voice dropping an octave as he seemed to relive the dream, choosing to skip over the intimate details for his own benefit as he chose to make a move on him. “I would love to make that dream a reality.”
“It's hard to do that while in prison.” Anthony remarked as he picked his magazine back up, flipping through the pages as he used the context clues combined with Joseph's tone to fill in the parts Joseph chose not to mention. “Sex on the beach isn't as fun as the movies make it sound. I prefer the drink rather than the act itself.”
“Good to know.” Joseph responded with a clear sense of awkwardness, rubbing the back of his neck as he tried to find a way to keep their conversation going. “Uhm..”
Joseph couldn't ignore how borderline bored Anthony sounded as he spoke. It was clear he couldn't have cared less about the dream, but that's Anthony’s reaction to most things these days. Joseph blamed the medication the doctors had him on for his bipolar and anger issues. It was like he was constantly sedated. That collar around his neck certainly didn't help matters either. Joseph knew if he wanted a chance he would have to keep this conversation going. He couldn't walk away now, so he pushed forward. Now it was time for Anthony to share his dreams.
“What do you dream about?” Joseph questioned as he turned the floor over to Anthony, a smile creeping into his face as he pressed the question further. “What did you dream about last night, Anthony?”
“Alex.” Anthony sighed as he slowly closed the magazine, taking in a sharp inhale before he let it out in a long exhale before he spoke again. “I took him in when he was about fifteen. He was like a son to me. He had a paper that said he was an adult by legal standards but that boy wasn't a man. He couldn't have taken care of himself even if he wanted to. He was a child. I took him into my home. I practically raised him into adulthood. There was this incident. It happened a few months after he moved in. He was sick and he came to me about it. I woke up with him standing at the foot of my bed. I wasn't mad. I was annoyed. I mean who wouldn't be scrubbing vomit off the floor at two o'clock in the morning? I took care of him.I took care of him like any father should but I'm not his father. I should stop talking about this.”
“Alex acts a lot like you.” Joseph noted as he tried to find a way to get through to him, looking Ivo up and down as his own thirst got the best of him. “Certainly as irresistible. I mean.. to Slade. He claims he hates him, but the two of them end up sharing lunch every day. It's kind of funny actually.”
“I think we have different ideas of what's considered funny.” Anthony responded in this flat unamused tone, glaring at the door as he seemed to lose all his patience for this conversation and Joseph as a whole. “Do you need something?”
“No.” Joseph responded far too quickly, clearing his throat as his cowardice became far too apparent. “I uh.. I'll check on them.”
“Good idea.” Anthony muttered as he climbed out of his bed, putting his hands on the door as he spoke. “Let me know how he is.”
That did not turn out how Joseph wished it would have turned out. He knew that Alex and Anthony had history together, but it was clear that history went deeper than Alex let on. True to his word, he did in fact check on Alex in the lab. He didn't want to think about what he found. Slade was leaning over Alex and had his arms around him in what seemed to be a romantic embrace as he watched him work. It was domestic. It made Joseph kind of nauseous to see the two of them like that. He could understand Anthony's reaction. Alex was practically his son. Biology didn't matter.

False Assumptions — Anthony Ivo/Joseph Martin Fanfic
Joseph accompanies Ivo on a snack run
[Drabble Prompt: I thought you were nice.]
It should be noted that the kind of people someone is around can often influence how one behaves, and when it comes to celebrities, how one portrays themself to be to the public often isn't how they really are behind closed doors. Both could be said to be true when it came to Anthony. To most he was Doctor Ivo, a billionaire playboy tech genius who revolutionized technology as a whole before losing his mind and wrecking the city, which cost the lives of countless individuals. To his former subordinates he was their boss who let his intern-turned-assistant do whatever he wanted because he liked the kid. Despite the publicized DNA test, most still believed Alex to be his son, but that was a conversation for another time. To his associates and friends he was Tony, who was a flawed man but smart man who liked to have fun even at the cost of himself and others. To Alex, he was the mentor he needed and the father he never asked for. To those at Task Force X, he was a criminal who was seen as more a weapon than he was a person. Then there was what he was to Joseph, and that was a whole different conversation that he refused to have for several reasons. The point was that who Anthony Ivo was depended on who you asked. The whole parasite incident did not help the public opinion of him, though.
How Anthony was talked about before and after the parasite incident was like a day and night kind of difference. Anthony used to be loved by the public. He appeared on television for interviews. He had countless articles written about him and his personal life. He was loved. Now whenever he talked about it on television, it was to discuss what he had done and the harm he had caused. The articles focused on his downfall. He was hated by countless individuals all because of one mistake. One breakdown. His life had fallen apart, and he didn't know how to fix it. The child he had taken in as his own had replaced him, and Anthony himself had started to fade in the background to be forgotten. It was hell when he was released from prison. Anthony couldn't return home due to the risks involved. He moved in with Joseph. It wasn't perfect, but that was his life now. It wasn't perfect, but it was his life. It was his life.
“Are you headed out?” Joseph questioned as he watched the other pan pull on his jacket and a mask to help conceal his identity from the public, unable to ignore how he was clearly being ignored. “Where are you going, Anthony?”
“For a walk..” Anthony responded with a sense of hesitation as he pulled his hood up, doing his best to hide his face as best he could without making it look like he was trying to hide who he was before he took notice of how Joseph was looking at him, which prompted him to elaborate further. “..to the store. Yeah. We could use some snacks. There's not much to eat around here.”
“We have a lot of food to eat. You need to cook it. Just… Nevermind. I'll come with you.” Joseph remarked as he rushed to pull his boots on, taking notice of the annoyed look. Anthony handed him, in return, over this decision to invade his alone time. “You shouldn't be out there alone this late… and the last time you went out alone you came back with your clothes torn, and you still refuse to tell me what happened despite the fact you know all it takes is a minuscule amount of radiation to have them dying a slow, excruciating death.”
“I'm fine by myself.” Anthony muttered as he headed out the door only to have Joseph follow after him like an overly attached English Mastiff, shaking his head with a clear sense of annoyance and a severe preference for cats as he came to terms with the fact Joseph wasn't about to leave his ass alone again. “Whatever.”
Anthony had lived in Metropolis most of his life, and due to that fact, he was more than a little familiar with how to get around the city when he didn't want to interact with anyone. He knew the areas most chose to avoid and risks involved when passing through said areas, but these fuckers knew him, and Joseph granted him the metaphorical scary dog privileges those bitches on the Internet are always bragging about having, whether or not they are talking about an actual dog or their little bitch of a spouse. It didn't matter. Anthony made it to the store without so much as a single word from anyone, well, unless you counted Joseph, but to be honest, he started to tune him out even before they left their apartment. It was easier that way.
“I could make some cookies for you.” Joseph noted as he watched Ivo pick up a package of cookies off of the shelf, not missing how Anthony looked at him with that same look of annoyance he had before as he sat the cookies down and picked up a different kind of dessert instead. “I have a recipe for that too.”
“I just want some snacks. Quick and convenient.” Anthony responded as he looked over his options, flipping a number of items around to examine the nutritional value on the packaging. “I don't need a five-star meal.”
"Wow, you think my cooking is worth a five-star rating?” Joseph mused with a smile on his face as Anthony tossed a package of chips into his bag, unable to miss how he had chosen the low-calorie option. “At least you're eating.”
Anthony had never been one to eat much. Even before the parasite incident, Anthony was known to participate in whatever diet that was trending. Joseph didn't try to make that much of an issue most of the time, as Ivo did eat more than he did when he was locked up even if it wasn't as much as he wanted him to eat. He would wait until Anthony's next physical and then make it an issue when he had the doctor there to side with him. It was the only way he would ever come close to remotely winning that argument, but for now he would take what he could get, and that mostly consisted of following Anthony around and making sure he actually got some snacks and didn't come here to escape him. That was a whole other issue to address.
The two of them were in the store for all of fifteen minutes before Anthony ran into someone that knew him, or rather, that person ran into him. Anthony was walking down the next aisle when this guy ran into him at full force. Joseph had no doubt that if he hadn't been standing so close to him, Anthony would have hit the floor. He could tell Anthony was pissed, and this fact became that much more clear with how he looked at the guy as he straightened himself up and smoothed out his clothes. His eye was absolutely glowing, which was never a good sign as to how this interaction was about to go. Joseph knew that from personal experience, and he did not want to deal with all the paperwork that would come from whatever was about to happen.
“I'm so sorry—” The man started to respond before he looked up to meet Anthony's gaze, hesitating immediately when he made eye contact with him. “Wait.. Are you Doctor Anthony Ivo?”
“Unfortunately.” Anthony muttered as he looked over his items to make sure no items had spilled from his basket, looking back at the guy afterwards to address the situation further. “You should pay more attention to where you're going.”
"Maybe, but at least I didn't destroy the city and cost the lives of hundreds of people.” The man responded in retaliation as he looked at Anthony with a clear sense of disgust, not bothering to hold back in the slightest despite the obvious risks involved. “I used to be a fan of yours. It's a shame to find out that your little assistant was the real brains behind Amazotech—”
“It was seventeen people, and no.. no, he wasn't.” Anthony responded as he shoved the bastard into one of the aisles, wrapping a hand around the man's throat, which caused Joseph to try and stop him, much to Anthony's displeasure. “You want to be next, Joseph?”
“Anthony.” Joseph warned as he tried to calm Anthony down, placing a hand on his wrist, and the bastard tried desperately to breathe. “Let him go.”
“You're insane!” The bastard screamed the second Anthony let him go, seeming genuinely terrified as he rushed to get away like a rat that was caught in one of those sticky traps. “Those fuckers should have never let you out of prison!”
“Ignore him.” Joseph muttered as he directed Anthony away from the bastard, unable to miss how Anthony covered his face with his hands as he moved. “Hm?”
“Direct me towards the health and wellness section.” Anthony instructed as he tried to get himself under control, shaking his head a bit before he spoke again. “I have a massive migraine.”
That could have ended a hell of a lot worse. This was a prime example of why Anthony needed him in his life, or at least that's what Joseph continued to tell himself. The two of them didn't remain in the store much longer after that, as after Anthony dramatically cleared the whole shelf of medication into his basket, the two of them headed for the self-checkout. Anthony was as bad as Alex when it came to this. The two of them acted like a bit of social interaction would kill them. Actually, based on the last interaction Anthony shared with someone, it might end with the other person dead. Yeah, maybe the self-checkout was the better option here.
“You want to talk about what happened?” Joseph questioned as he followed Anthony out of the store, unable to miss how Anthony had seemingly chosen to ignore his existence once again. “Anthony?”
“Fuck off.” Anthony groaned with a clear sense of annoyance, shaking his head for a moment before he spoke again. “You could have melted his face off.”
“I could have but—” Joseph started to respond before he hesitated, doing his absolute best to keep up with Anthony as he walked ahead of him. “You did choke the guy.”
“You probably would have thanked me for it.” Anthony remarked as he buried his hands in his pockets, glaring at Joseph for several seconds before he looked away. “Freak.”

Dead Mother — Anthony Ivo/Joseph Martin Fanfic With Bits Of Lex Luthor/Slade Wilson
Joseph tries to threaten Ivo to correct his behavior
[Drabble Prompt: I’ll just tell your mom on you.]
There was a lot that could be said about how awkward it could feel sometimes to be in a room with Alex and Slade due to how the pair often acted like a married couple that should have been divorced a decade prior but still loved one another so chose to stick it out despite the hardships. Joseph had done his best to ignore the comments and the actions the two of them shared after Slade had threatened to cut his balls off if he so much as looked twice in Alex's direction after he found them laughing together in the lab. Slade had some severe jealousy issues, and he didn't handle the idea that he could be replaced well at all. Alex threatening to do just that every time Slade decided to push his buttons was an issue within itself, and one Joseph refused to unpack. He had his own shit to deal with, such as trying to separate Slade and Ivo before Ivo tore his throat out after a comment Slade had made about Alex and him landed a bit harder than he anticipated it would. He was so fucked.
Joseph had no doubt if he would have tried to attack someone like that, his mother would have been all over his ass about it. Just last weekend he received a call from his mother about a speeding ticket he had received a month prior, and that had ended in an hour-long lecture. Ivo was a lot stronger than he looked. It certainly didn't help that Slade stood there with a smirk on his face and his arms folded in front of his chest as Alex glared up at him. It was almost as if the sick fuck had a death wish. Joseph just hoped he could reason with Ivo's better nature.
“What would your mother say if she saw you behave like this?” Joseph asked as he tried to calm Ivo down before he could strangle Slade, looking him up and down as he took notice of how Ivo faltered at his words. “Hm?”
“My mother is dead, Joseph.” Ivo responded with a level of disdain in his tone that he hadn't expected, his anger seeming to turn away from Slade and Joseph in an instant. “And even if she wasn't, that would be a short conversation. First you would have to remind the bitch that she even had a son in the first place!”
“This conversation did not turn out how I wanted.” Joseph muttered more to himself than anything as he took a step back away from Ivo, immediately turning his attention to the only other man he knew that could handle Ivo. “Alex—”
“Don't start with me because you won't like my answer.” Alex warned as he dealt with Slade, who didn't seem to take heed to Ivo's threats as he continued to lean over his shoulder, not missing when Joseph's eyes shifted to his white-haired counterpart, which prompted Alex to shut that conversation down before it had the chance to start. “And don't bother with Slade. Those issues dive deeper than you want to know. Trust me.. Ask Waller about the cards if you don't believe me.”
“Is there anyone in this place that doesn't suffer from parental abuse?” Joseph asked as he looked around at the group, hesitating for a moment as he remembered his own issues with his mother after the whole homosexual issue which caused him to backtrack in an instant. “Don't answer that.”
Well, at least Ivo didn't want to kill Slade now. Instead, he was pissed off at him over the whole mother comment. Joseph could handle that. He fucked up. He could own that. Joseph watched as a few guards escorted Ivo back to his cell while Slade continued to tease Alex until Alex shoved him. If this was about to become an actual fight, Joseph would put his money on Alex to win, as he knew from experience that the threat of no sex could make a man do some horrendous shit. Not that he could prove the two of them were together, of course, but still. He couldn't prove that radiation would eventually kill everyone, but he still would walk into a convenience store and show off his powers to everyone inside. He needed to fix this shit with Ivo. Ivo could handle a little radiation. In fact the parasite inside of him loved it.
“Don't stare at him.” Slade snapped abruptly at Joseph seemingly out of nowhere, glaring at Joseph far too intensely, which caused Joseph to realize that he had unintentionally been looking at Alex as he tried to figure out how to fix this mess with Ivo. “Get the fuck out!”
“Wonderful idea.” Joseph mused as he turned around to leave, his words leaving his mouth before he had time to think about the potential consequences. “Take care, Alex.”
“Take care, Alex.” Slade repeated in this mocking tone as he curled his arms around Alex, resting his head on his shoulder much to his annoyance. “Jackass.”

The Accident - Lex Luthor/Slade Wilson Edit
I need more practice but here we are. I might make a fic about this. I don't know.
I decided to do a couple's drawing with my girlfriend. She took one character and I took the other and then we combined them— Slex on a motorcycle.
Here Is the finished product. I might do a fanfic about this.
Here is my contribution minus a few added details to the background.
Speed paint
Reference used.
Special appreciation to my partner @michi-coffee for their contributions to this work and for being the most amazing girlfriend in the world. I love you.

The similarities between Ivo and Alex.
I'm sure many of you ego see this are familiar with a reoccurring headcanon that finds their way into my fanfics and that is the found family, parental relationship between Alex and Ivo.
I've done a lot with this concept over the years but the similarities between Ivo's concept art and season 3 Alex is straight up undeniable.
I would like to believe that Alex followed a lot in Ivo's footsteps as he found himself with his own company.
From the hair and the style it's giving a young Anthony Ivo and I'm living for it.
But Goddamn if they didn't massacre my boy with this hairstyle 😭 the chain is giving quarter life existential crisis
And don't get me started on Slade but that's a post for another time.
thoughts on the new peak at lex and slade we got in the season 3 trailer that just dropped?
I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW THIS WAS A THING AND YOU HAD ME IMMEDIATELY LOOKING UP THE TRAILER 😭
@acenanxious DID YOU KNOW ABOUT THIS?? WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME?! WE NEED TO DISCUSS THIS ASAP BRO!
(Edit: my apologies. It JUST came out. 😭 I thought the time said 10 days ago not ten minutes ago)
ALEX.. MY BOY... WTF 😭 This haircut is not doing it for me but I would like to believe he's following in Ivo's footsteps especially with that fucking chain around his neck.
Slade is looking nice but I'm missing the fun loving hairstyle. I'm interested in seeing how he broke his arm.
It's giving bodyguard x CEO having his quarter life crisis and I'm living for it and now I'm going to go write some more fanfic...
