my name is niigaani pinesi which means lead thunderbird. this year i decided to make my own jingle dress all by myself! the only time my mother helped me was to string the thread through our old sewing machine from the 70’s lol.

i chose red, gold, white, and black because of the four direction colours as they mean so much to me in my life and our old teachings helped me through a lot of trauma i tried to heal myself.

anyway after years of being lost and ashamed of who i am, i learned more about my ojibwe culture and found and grounded myself. ❤️
