“Completely hypothetically, but what if that person didn’t actually need to eat and would consider being let off the ship a holiday instead of punishment?”
❝ Is that a confession, Ensign? ❞
❝ --- Hypothetically, a DEMOTION would be the next alternative. How would you feel about being ‘Crewman Calcite’? ❞
Looks like they could kill you and could actually kill you
❝ — You’re damn right about that, Lieutenant. Now get back to work. I want these artifacts cataloged into the system by the end of Beta shift, understood?❞
Do you like orange eels?
❝ —- That’s — a very specific question. Why ORANGE eels in particular? ❞
“I assume you’re the welcoming committee?”
❝ Were you expecting someone else? ❞
How would you feel if all those replicator problems were intentional trolling by someone on your crew?
❝ — Is this a hypothetical situation, or are you trying to tell me something? ❞
❝ Do you know how LONG I’ve gone without a good cup of coffee in this replicator crisis?! Neelix’s ‘even better than coffee substitute’ isn’t cutting it, and at this point, I’m not above leaving the perpetrator on the next M Class planet for a week with nothing but Leola Root Stew for nourishment. ❞
Looks like they could kill you and could actually kill you
❝ I’d take that as a warning not to get on my bad side before my morning coffee. ❞
Would kill for a cinnamon roll
❝ — Please. The replicator doesn’t do them any justice. A PROPER cinnamon roll and a good cup of coffee would be heaven at a time like this. ❞
Put which one from the Cinnamon Roll meme my muse is:
Beautiful Cinnamon Roll Too Good For This World, Too Pure
Looks like they could kill you but is actually a cinnamon roll
Looks like a cinnamon roll but could actually kill you
Looks like a cinnamon roll and is actually a cinnamon roll
Looks like they could kill you and could actually kill you
Could kill you, but is still a cinnamon roll
Would kill for a cinnamon roll
Sinnamon roll
Pleasantries aside, the Captain’s excuse was ACCEPTABLE. Neelix’s particular brand of persistence was not lost on the former Borg. ❛ Might I suggest Nutritional Supplement Nine Gamma Alpha? I find it’s effects are quite… stimulating. ❜ Holodeck Two opened with a hiss, and she welcomed Janeway inside.
❝ I’ll take your word for it. ❞ Kathryn has sampled many such supplements over the years, with none quite comparing to the real thing. Still, Seven’s recommendation surprises her, and she nods once in thanks and walks into the holodeck at the other woman’s gesture. ❝ I take it you’ve been PRACTICING after our last match? ❞
Q watched her venture back to the other side of the desk, as though that were the business side to sit on. One side for business, one side for socializing. Humans had such interesting little rituals built into their lives. He could hardly begin to unpack the one she was holding in her hand right now, hot and steaming and aromatic.
“I try not to expect things from people, Kathryn.” Lies, lies, damned dirty lies. He shrugged, very nonchalant about the whole matter. "I merely wanted to point out that there are other civilizations in this sector lacking Voyager’s protections. And they might be grateful not to be wiped out.“
❝ --- You and I both know that’s not true. ❞
There had to be some way Q would benefit from the destruction of this entity. The thought left a sour taste in Kathryn’s mouth. So much for a social call, after all.
---- But he did have a point. Plenty of planets would fall victim to the entity, consuming all biomatter in its path for survival. The Prime Directive was rather GRAY when it came to situations such as this; despite Kathryn’s desire to HELP these people and thus save countless lives, by acting against the Crystalline Entity, she would still be ending a life needlessly.
❝ As would the Crystalline Entity. I will not MURDER a life form for your convenience. It goes against everything Starfleet stands for. ❞
“No,” Elizabeth says quietly. “I’ve never heard of the Delta Quadrant. Is it new?” She cocks her head slightly as they walk along. “Do you think you’ll be able to contact Momma and Daddy soon? They’re probably really worried about me, I mean if Momma wakes up and I’m not in bed she’ll be scared for me.”
Elizabeth frowns. “Why’d we stop? Am I not allowed in?” She asks, “Well there’s mostly humans, Momma is the only Vulcan, I’m the only half Vulcan but there’s Doctor Phlox.” Elizabeth explains, cocking her head to the side again. “He’s a Denobulan, he has three wives and lots of children, but I’ve never met his children. I met his second wife once. Why?”
❝ In a sense, I suppose it is new. We’re the first Starfleet ship to explore this part of the galaxy. I’m not going to lie to you, Elizabeth. We’ll contact them as soon as we can, but I’m afraid your parents might be worrying about you for a while yet. ❞
❝ The crew of Voyager originate from over 30 different planets, some of which will be unfamiliar to you. My Chief of Security is Vulcan, and a good friend of mine. ❞ She pauses, her thoughts settling on Tuvok. For the moment, it would be best to consider Elizabeth’s presence on Voyager a permanent change -- which meant the girl would need somewhere to stay. There was no one Kathryn would trust more with the task than Lieutenant Commander Tuvok. ❝ I just want you to be prepared for some new faces. The mess hall is usually rather BUSY this time of day. ❞
OBEDIENCE is not loyalty. SERVITUDE is not loyalty. OBLIGATION is not loyalty.
S A C R I F I C E is loyalty.

Warmth 58% - supportive and comforting, but can be cold and somewhat selfish depending on the circumstances. Intellect 86% - cerebral, analytical Emotional Stability 72% - level headed, calm (but she can be quite irritable and moody, especially when low on caffeine). Aggressiveness 78% - controlling, tough Liveliness 50% - a balance of somber && restrained, and wild && fun loving. Dutifulness 82% - conforming, traditional Social Assertiveness 58% - bold, but also very much leaning towards being shy and withdrawn. I think this is mostly because of her responsibility as captain and how she was somewhat detached from the social life of the crew because of difference in rank. I wouldn’t say she’s shy, but she can be withdrawn. There’s a lot of pressure on her shoulders, and she’s a very busy woman who appreciates her alone time, but will gladly engage with the crew socially. Sensitivity 50% - a balance of being coarse && tough and touchy && soft. She’s course and can be tough when making command decisions, but in her personal life, she’s a lot softer than you’d expect. Paranoia 30% - trusting, easy going --- I wouldn’t say she’s easy going, but she has been criticized of being overly trusting, especially in the earlier seasons. This is no doubt a result of her inexperience as a captain and Starfleets exploratory nature; it wouldn’t help first contact situations if Starfleet captains were overly wary and suspicious of all new species they meet. Abstractness 66% - strange, imaginative. While Janeway can be quite practical, and often tries to be in her command decisions, in critical situations, she definitely shows an imaginative approach to solving problems and is eager to tap into that side of her in her own personal recreation and use of the holodeck. Introversion 66% - private, quiet. Sometimes she just wants to drink her coffee and read a book in peace, y’know. Anxiety 46% - confident, self assured, but not far from being fearful and self-doubting. She knows that she had to be confident and stand firm in her decisions as her own reactions do influence the crew, but she is always internally afraid that they won’t make it home, and doubting her own ability and experience to make the decisions necessary to get them there. Openmindedness 78% - curious, exploratory Independence 62% - loner, craves solitude -- but only just. She can do things for her self and prefers her own company or the company of few people when off duty, but overall, is heavily reliant on the rest of her crew in their overall mission. She leans especially on Chakotay in both of these aspects of her life. He’s a good friend whose company she enjoys in her free time, as seen by their dinners together, but ultimately she relies on him to keep her in check and help her in running the ship. She honestly could not have gotten Voyager home without Chakotay’s contributions. Perfectionism 90% - orderly, thorough. For a moment, I thought this was too high, but thinking it over, Janeway is a bit of a perfectionist. She expects the best from her crew, and is very committed to her goal of getting them home in as little time as possible. Tension 62% - stressed, unsatisfied. I think tension is wholly justified given the circumstances and the constant dangers and unknowns a lone Starfleet ship face in the Delta Quadrant.
“Tell me where you’re from again?” Jim asked, shifting how he was sitting at the table ever so slightly. He wanted to learn more. He was fascinated.
❝ Bloomington. It's a city in Indiana. ❞ Kirk’s curiosity was ENDEARING, but Kathryn didn’t want to risk a violation of the Temporal Prime Directive, not to a man whose actions had shaped Starfleet the way James T. Kirk’s had. She would have to be careful with her words. ❝ I read all about you when I was a cadet. You have quite the reputation, Captain. ❞
