How time flies...
8 years ago was my last blog. Wow! I've sat here and read through a few of my old blogs... I think I loved writing articles and I didn't realize it until today. huh...
Life through some curve balls since my last post, and here I am. I have returned because somewhere down the line I've lost some inspiration, and I miss the creative side of me. I am looking to be inspired to create some dope shit.
I've been lost. I need to find myself again.
He's done so much to support his people in Africa. He is blessed.
HypeBeast Blog is a Beast
I am obsessed with HypeBeast. It’s an amazing blog that features: music, art, design, culture, and yes fashion. The featured bloggers stay up on all the latest newest, and the up and coming artist and designers. I also like how clean the blog is. All of the labels are simple and to the point, so if you are looking for something specific, its very easily found within the categories. I like how they have links to purchase items featured on the blog. I know some blogs will show some new and interesting items on the market, but they do not include a link to purchase it, and that can be a bit annoying. No only does HypeBeast feature items for sale, they also keep the followers informed on new and rare music. As a part of my second hobby, I love to find music that is not rotated on the radio. For me its exciting to see and hear of someone new with amazing vocals. I found HypeBeast about a year ago and its listed as one of the top 5 fashion blogs on the internet. I do recommend it to all of you, so feel free to follow the link listed below.
Enjoy!

Taking on a New City Without a Guide
I was still adjusting to the military lifestyle, and having my husband deploy after a month of living in a new state, with no family, was the most difficult challenge I’ve had to experience. I was only here in San Diego a month and my husband was shipped out to Afghanistan. I remember being so scared when he got the news. I wasn’t sure if I was more afraid for him or for myself being without him. I didn’t panic. I took things one at a time. After he left I became responsible for of course my child, my husband’s care-packages, and all of the bills for an entire year. The first thing I did was found a job who would work with my schedule. I then found a childcare facility who would be open before my employment hours, and who could transport my child to elementary school and care for him after. Oh! I actually got the oil changes done for his car; on time. There were times when I wanted to pack up and run back to Phoenix until he came back home, but I didn’t. After that long year passed and my husband arrived home, he told me “I don’t know how you did it, but I’m proud of you!” Truth be told, I don’t know how I did it either, but It’s great to know that I can handle things on my own.
The Art of Couture; A Breakthrough
Pencil. Paper. This was the beginning of my founded destiny; Design. It was a usual boring day, working in a call center surrounded by the sounds of people selling false promises. As I was sitting in my 4x4 cubical, ignoring the customer venting about their life, I turned over a piece of paper of objections, grabbed a pencil and it started dancing across the paper. After my hands waltz came to a stop, I realized the customer was gone. I lost a sell but gained a promising discovery; designing “Red-Carpet” gowns. I sought out various techniques to nourish my newfound talent by: streaming countless hours of runway footage online, sitting at Barnes and Noble with tons of books offering techniques and design templates (while at the same time having a Starbucks). During my intensive research, one designer seemed to inspire me the most, Valentino Garavani. I discovered his documentary the Last Emperor, this past year. His collections are nothing shorter than amazing.
With all the techniques I’ve absorbed, I found myself more knowledgeable in completing a full collection of sketches within a matter of hours. I plan to take what I learn and apply it to my talents and push it to the next level.
I know many of you may already know of Angelina Jolie’s decision of a double mastectomy. Her story has been read by many, and so far the feedback is very positive. Soon after finding out she carried a gene that’s hereditary in her family called BRCA1 (a faulty gene that increases the risk of breast and ovarian cancer) she had to make a choice that would spare her a longer, and healthier life with her family despite being in the eyes of fame. Knowing this decision would be the most talked about procedure not only in Hollywood, but all over the nation. Angelina Jolie is known to be a brave and strong woman, and many might see her now as an inspiration. There are so many women across the globe, who are possibly living with BRCA1, and are unaware of the tools that are readily available at their fingertips, but, by taking action now helps to prevent cancer cells from mutating late BRCA1 is a gene known as a tumor suppressor. The National Cancer Institute says the gene can mutate and lead to breast cancer or ovarian cancer, and it’s hereditary. Having BRCA1 is harder to cure because the virus is stronger and it’s almost immune to the hormonal therapy. The National Cancer Institute says only 12% of women with BRCA2 are at risk of being diagnosed with cancer in a lifetime, and women with BRCA1 is at a higher risk of at least 60% because it’s more harmful. Soon after Angelina found out of this gene, she and her doctor evaluated her options of preventative care. “My doctors estimated that I had an 87 percent risk of breast cancer and a 50 percent risk of ovarian cancer” (NYtimes.com). Next, she evaluated her options and considered living a bit longer with her family vs. her looks. Finally, after crossing the t’s, and dotting the I’s; it was time for surgery. Having the support from her husband who never left her side through all three procedures made for an easier process. For many women, just the thought of a mastectomy of just one breast is dreadful. Well, Image a double mastectomy. If we set aside looks and think about our health, sacrifices just may have to be considered. I know most of us are young, and we are still in college but one day we will be 40 years old. Preventative care is available. “My chances of developing breast cancer have dropped from 87 percent to under 5 percent.” As I said before, I see Angelina Jolie as an empowered woman, who is strong and brave enough to consider the preventative mastectomy. For those with curious minds Angelina Jolie is not completely “flat chested”, it is the 20th century, lets’ just say “the doctors were able to improvise.” I hope that anyone who has had someone close diagnosed with cancer or lost someone to cancer can see Angelina Jolie’s story as an inspiration as I do. Something as simple as a blood test can determine your health. This process takes about 10 minutes out of your day vs. months in Chemotherapy. Although we are not 40 years old yet, we do need to spread the word. It all starts with us.
Jessica Parker on the red carpet looking fabulous as usual!
Anne Hathaway in a Vintage Valention gown.
Despite those who do not like the colors on this Lamborghini, I love it. It's now retro, and has lots of personality, and character. Who cares about the simple red, black, grey, gold, and brown color cars. This is 2013 ppl.
I say Kuddo's to Chris Brown and West Coast Customs for thinking outside of the box...
How I would love to walk into this store and shop. Tokyo's "Opening Ceremony" has a new location in the city (Cat Sreet).
The store is filled with eclectic designs, there is no Focal Pointe. Amazing labels such as Rodarte, Alexander Wang and G.V.G.V., are some of many sold within the store.
Despite the many cool retail stores, and boutiques. This one is absolutely gorgeous.

“ Good morning, on July 7 Though still in bed, my thoughts go out to you, my Immortal Beloved, now and then joyfully, then sadly, waiting to learn whether or not fate will hear us - I can live only wholly with you or not at all - Yes, I am resolved to wander so long away from you until I can fly to your arms and say that I am really at home with you, and can send my soul enwrapped in you into the land of spirits - Yes, unhappily it must be so - You will be the more contained since you know my fidelity to you. No one else can ever possess my heart - never - never - Oh God, why must one be parted from one whom one so loves. And yet my life in V is now a wretched life - Your love makes me at once the happiest and the unhappiest of men - At my age I need a steady, quiet life - can that be so in our connection? My angel, I have just been told that the mailcoach goes every day - therefore I must close at once so that you may receive the letter at once - Be calm, only by a calm consideration of our existence can we achieve our purpose to live together - Be calm - love me - today - yesterday - what tearful longings for you - you - you - my life - my all - farewell. Oh continue to love me - never misjudge the most faithful heart of your beloved. ever thine ever mine ever ours ” — A letter from Ludwig Van Beethoven to his “immortal beloved”
