atomic-palmer:
A slight noise of surprise followed being pulled into a hug by the older man. Leonard had never been big on physical contact, aside from a shoulder bump here and there, usually coupled with a scathing comment. But Ray knew that was just Len’s peculiar was of showing he actually cared a micro gram about his teammates.
He resisted the urge to cling on tighter to his friend, knowing that the contact would be brief. Instead he patted Len’s back and pulled away when he did. “It’s really good to see you.”
Shifting awkwardly, he rubbed at the back of his neck. “Ah, they’re okay. They’re on the Waverider.” He paused, steeling himself before answering the first question, “1705 days.”
For the briefest of moments, Leonard’s lips twitch in offering of a smile. Usual smirk softened at the genuine remark.
It didn’t surprise Leonard that his second question was answered first. It was probably the easier of the two to supply an answer for. “Still chasing after Savage?” Len asked, curious as he couldn’t think of why the Legends would stick together if their mission against Savage and the Time Masters was complete.
Ray’s follow up reply, however, made Leonard pause.
“Four years, eight months.” Len murmured mostly to himself, a frown marring his features as he realized what that meant. To be gone that long one could only assume his fate had been grim. His mind went to his sister, wondering who told her, what she was doing now. But as quickly as the realization hit him, it vanished within an instant and the cool facade slide back into place.
“How do we get back?”
