the lack of garrance fans talking about the actual parallels between them is upsetting to me because in MCD you have garroth who is very religious in a sense and then laurance who is a shadowknight and basically a demon from hell, and they have two entirely different upbringings in mystreet with garroth having a semi-healthy and rich family and being well-liked right off the bat very naturally and being a pretty big rule follower and laurance being an adopted child whose had it ROUGH with his past family and past school and past friends, getting involved w the wrong type of people, etc. these are just two things that were on my minddd but its almost like they balance the fuck out of eachother and no ones talking abt kt so i will

I’ve never seen anyone talk about how ableist it is to see sugary things and say it will give you diabetes, or things of that nature. It’s not nearly that simple, and when we act like it is, even jokingly, we imply that getting diabetes is your own fault. That if you have it you just ate too much sugar. I’ve talked to my mom with type 2 diabetes about this and it sounds like she does blame herself for it a lot, and yeah, I’ll admit she hasn’t always had the healthiest habits, but that doesn’t make her illness her own fault.

I just hate it when people act like people who are sick brought it upon themselves. I don’t have diabetes, but I have a chronic illness and it happened when I was actively working to be healthier. Now I’m not nearly as healthy because of that illness.
