Color Wheel just hit its 300th invoice / print job! 3 years, 300 jobs, that feels pretty good. Thank you to everyone who's supported Color Wheel along the way. Studio dog Ubu says thanks too!
Out of the Blocks
Color Wheel made prints for WYPR's series Out of the Blocks. Wendel Patrick photographed the shop owners, residents & families of 4700 Liberty Heights Avenue. It's a collection of stunning portraits & views of this Baltimore city street. Each model will receive an 11x14" print of their portrait.

New paper & project...
Say hi to Moab’s Moenkopi Kozo paper! Machinemade in Tokushima, Japan using the natural Kozo (mullberry) fiber. It’s a lovely white paper with a slight texture that maintains the feel of traditional Washi papers.
Color Wheel had the pleasure to print the pages of a new book project by Baltimore artist Lu Zhang, documenting her year-long residency at the George Peabody Library. Here are one of the long scrolls, that will soon be folded & cut into an accordion book:
& details:
Hey friends, Color Wheel is back open & in gear! I'm in the process of making some updates to the studio...like now you can directly upload files via the website! Just click on "Upload Files Here" & voila.
My first few prints after the July break are a 20x30 for Heather Boaz and several little guys for Leah Horowitz. It's nice to have the printer humming along again!
Color Wheel in June: new studio & new displays!
Check out the big new space at Oliver Street Studios, I'm so happy to be here! 405 E. Oliver St (Area 405)
This month was full of printing, here are a few highlights: - Color printing on clear film to go in a 24x24" lightbox for Lisa Dillin's upcoming exhibition at Hamiltonian Gallery (June 27 - August 1) - Experimenting with PhotoTex, an adhesive-backed fabric that can be used like removable wallpaper! The nine 30x40" panels are for Zoe Friedman's upcoming installation at Current Space (July 11 - August 2) - & it's always fun to make more prints of the nature-inspired imagery for artists Sejong Cho & Daniel Chamberlin
Color Wheel will be on vacation for the month of July but back in action August 1st! Stay tuned for many more updates coming this Fall...
More beautiful desert flowers flying to Marfa, TX for artist Daniel Chamberlin...these beauts are printed on Hahnemühle Bamboo paper.
