"Here's What Happened When We Hung Out with Social Media Superstar Cameron Dallas"
"Fresh from his vacation in the Bahamas, Cameron Dallas is tan, happy, and seemingly unstoppable. The 20-year-old Vine, YouTube, and Instagram star has already stolen the hearts of millions of fans, but he's not stopping there: Cameron will soon be hitting the big screen as the lead in teen comedy Expelled, which premieres in December.
Cameron's character, Felix, is a fun-loving prankster who gets (you guessed it) expelled from school and tries to hide it from his parents. "It was my first time acting so I was really nervous. I'm definitely a prankster in real life though," he tells us, smiling. "But, I'm trying to grow out of the public pranks thing."
When he's not traveling for work, Cameron lives in Los Angeles with fellow Viner Nash Grier. "Me and my friends are all rowdy. We don't go to parties to have fun, we just hang out and go to Wal-Mart," he says. "I'm actually banned from my local Wal-Mart."
A San Bernardino native, Cameron explains that because he didn't have a lot of money growing up, he had to get creative to have fun. "I could do anything to have a good time. I try to make the best out of everything," he says. And his hobbies? The list is long: jet skiing, paintballing, dirt-bike riding, swimming, and playing volleyball and soccer.
Even though he's already mastered just about everything, this is definitely only the beginning. "I have so many goals. I'm really big on the business side of things," he says. What's biggest dream? "I want to play a more serious role in acting." Another new venture for the teen: He's a designer of the XXVI Collection at Aéropostale (check out the Insta below!) with his Vine buddies Nash, Hayes Grier, and Carter Reynolds.
It's a collaboration that makes total sense, considering Cameron's history with the brand. "My first job was at Aéropostale—it's funny telling people that. I was the cashier and I was so nervous...I would always get the change wrong. They fired me and kept my best friend, but I got a job at Forever 21 next door. People would drop clothes in front of me and just walk away!" We have a feeling those days are definitely over."
