The same day @cnn calls Africa a country, they manage to anger Kenyans by using the same old tired narrative western media loves. In the wake of President Obama’s arrival in Kenya, CNN issues a story with a headline calling Kenya “a hot bed of terror”. They must have forgotten that the days of the West telling our stories are over. They must have also forgot that Kenya is home to one of the most vocal Twitter users.

Using the hashtag #SomeoneTellCNN, Kenyans are telling CNN (& the world) the truth about Kenya. Even though most of the country is still asleep, the hashtag is already trending.

Let’s begin to wish CNN good luck as Kenyans wake up…they will need it.
