I think for pride month Gearbox should have to give us Janey and Athena's wedding photos and a honeymoon DLC, it's the least the moon lesbians deserve
Have I drawn Jack yet? I don't remember, but he's fun to draw
Stop booing me I'm right
Did this guy even play Tales before writing this slop? Seriously the first decisions he makes is to basically retcon everything.
Fiona says 'fuck all' to being a vault hunter now. Rhys wasted his wish on acquiring Atlas when HE ALREADY FUCKING HAD IT. Wtf am I reading
Right?! Fans were theorising for YEARS about where they went. We literally SAW them disappear, and then Anthony Burch was like "No, fuck you they don't go anywhere and Fiona is quitting being a vault hunter"
That character short was great. I adore C4SH already, he's so cool and I love the weaponised playing cards gimmick
Also, I immediately need to know more about the games Mancubus runs and the kinds of prizes he gives out. Who else has been there and won somehow?? Why does he run them at all??? What kind of artifacts or magical items are already out there in the world courtesy of Mancubus? I need answers!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY @rin-bellatrix
Have a puffy haired moustashe Rhys and a Fiona who just..looks the same cuz she baddaasssss
but i imagine this is how they look like now
AND BONUS for nostalgia
This art is GORGEOUS, I love them so much 😌
Somewhere in the borderlands, Janey Springs just sat bolt upright in her bed sensing that Kraggons have somehow survived, they aren't extinct even after Elpis got teleported away. The evil is not yet defeated
Rhys and Fiona have been apart from each other for YEARS at this point with Fiona's whereabouts being completely unconfirmed, if they don't get a sentimental on screen reunion I am going to CHEW THROUGH the doors of Gearbox HQ to write it in myself. I NEED it.
thank you for actually posting content about tales from the borderlands 😭 I fear the fandom is so dead and some of the most recent posts are from forever ago. thank you for feeding us 🙏🏾
I adore Tales with all my heart, I'm glad there's people that feel the same and like my posts! Happy to feed the fandom whenever I can 🥰
Trying to make sense of the markings is never easy
Props to August for immediately locking the fuck in the second he heard Jacks voice up on Helios.
The guy didn't even know that Jack was floating around digitally, didn't ask any questions, and then just immediately opened fire as soon as he saw his face. He really heard a dead man and was just like "yeah that tracks, that fucker probably survived somehow" and did not care to question why he was harassing Fiona and Sasha, he just kept firing till he couldn't see Jack anymore, good for him.
Happy Belated Valentine’s Day!
💜 To: all the Rhyiona shippers 💜
✨🪻Artwork of Rhyiona digitally painted by me, but the flowers are screenshotted from game and cutout + layered using piZap. Additionally, sparkles n other animated stickers are from Instagram🪻✨
xoxo, friends! -Stormy :)
This is SO cute, look at them!!!! Gorgeous piece! 🥰
Happy valentines day 💝❤️💙!
This is very canon to me 🙂↕️
✨ ~Happy valentine's day ~✨
Gearbox might say that the Tales crew split up but I know differently. They have regular bunkers and badasses sessions that Athena sometimes makes an appearance at.
Rhys has cancelled meetings with executives to work the game into his schedule and cut meetings short when he got a great idea for the next session and wanted to go work it into the game plan.
Vaughn appointed a second in command in his bandit group solely so they could take over for him when him was off playing B&B.
Fiona and Sasha have been in the middle of vault hunting before realising the time and immediately locking the fuck in to finish the fight quickly and hurry over to game night.
Athena explains everything that happened in a session in great detail to Janey who listens intently because she likes seeing her wife so passionate about something.
Gortys understands nothing about the game but she likes to sit and watch everyone play, and Loaderbot comments on the others characters poor decisions with her.
The found family remains no matter what anyone else says
Anybody else weirded out by that reoccurring plot point in Debt or Alive where the Fiona repeatedly obsesses over how cute a kid is and about how they're so cute that it changes her negative views on motherhood, and that there's multiple scenes where she seems to lose all her intelligence because of her being obsessed with how "adorable" this kid is? Cause that happens multiple times in the book and I found it strange.
Like this happens multiple times in the book
"I don't generally find kids very cute. They're like adults who can't talk to you about books, which is fine, but I've never seen a kid and had an emotion stronger than 'I hope it doesn't wipe it's hands on me.'
Until I saw this first kid.—page 35
"For the first time in my life I found myself opening my arms to a child not old enough to know any good curse words." —Page 173
Same kid again. Fiona goes on about how cute the kid is and then cuddles him because he's sad before Sasha informs her that she, a trained con artist with years of experience, is being fooled by a fake crying act from a ten year old and pickpocketed.
"'You're being robbed' Sasha said.
And that's when I felt it.
A little tug, too subtle for most to notice. If I hadn't spent a lifetime thieving and lying and running away, I wouldn't have felt a thing other than the adorable child's tears and my own quickly shifting opinions in motherhood." —page 174
So again, specifically stating that Fiona does not like children and didn't want any until a kid cute enough appeared. Even if it was unintentional it's still weird, and these aren't the only times this happens in the book, it happens again and again and again. Hell there's a scene where Fiona and Sasha get held hostage by these two children
"Pick gestured at us to follow her, and apparently I was in the right frame of mind to obey a nine-year-old girl unthinkingly" —page 246
and yet another where they get betrayed by one of those children who again Fiona trusted because he was "soooo cute".
"Something about the wink seemed off, but I figured it was just winks being overall compatible with Face's whole brand as an adorable child." — page 261
"We turned around to see Face standing between the two secbots, pointing at us and wiping tears from his rosy, traitorous cheeks." — page 268
And let me be clear I have ZERO issue with a female character wanting children or changing their mind about not having kids, but it does come across as weird, at least to me, when they go out of their way to state repeatedly that this female character does not like children, does not want children, and that this has suddenly changed because they found a kid cute enough, or making her completely obsessed with them whenever they're in a scene. They could've just said that Fiona had a soft spot for kids because she raised Sasha when they were young and they reminded her of her or something.
Idk it just seems strange that they chose to write the two female leads as literally incompetent half the time, one of them obsessed with how cute a kid is, and that the book seems to act like these aren't intelligent women.
Sasha spends half the book acting like a teenager and Fiona like an overbearing mother, then the other half they're getting outwitted and almost robbed/killed by pre-pubescent children. It just seems like they are very rarely written as competent outside of plot device moments. In Tales they didn't always make the best decisions and they were dorks but they weren't stupid.
I probably shouldn't have expected any different given that I've seen people critique how he writes women before but still.
