Shore Leave - Kaidan || Shepard

Usually, Kaidan would scoff, seeing couples walk so close together. It never looked comfortable. But this was different. This was comfortable. Maybe it was just because it was Shepard who had his arm around him. Maybe it was just that he hadn’t walked like this with anyone else before, but Kaidan decided that he enjoyed it. He didn’t even mind the looks that they were getting. He knew that there would be pictures taken, and gossip spreading about Commander Shepard and his new boyfriend. He knew that there would be people who would hate him, simply because he got to Shepard before they could, but Kaidan couldn’t care less, and he didn’t like the gossip mills anyway.

“The rush? You know damn well what the rush is.” As soon as they parted, Kaidan slid his hands together behind his back, walking along with the Commander not too far away. “Let’s not waste any time. Please.”

Training and years of experience were all that kept him from doing just as Kaidan pleaded by making a dash straight for the elevator. His patience was on its last legs as they went through the whole process of decontamination followed by the usual protocols when returning to the ship. Once that was done and over with, he could barely restrain himself as he gave clipped orders that he would be in his cabin with strict instructions not to be bothered for the rest for the day. He left the Normandy under Garrus' watch until further notice. There should have been a medal for how he carried himself, stiff posture and the stern expression he usually wore around the ship. Once the officers dispersed to carry out his orders, Shepard caught Kaidan's eye and with a slight twitch of the corner of his mouth, he arched an eyebrow and turned to make a beeline for the elevator.

He didn't wait for Kaidan to accompany him, hopefully he would wait for a bit longer before joining him on some pretence of having to discuss important matters with him or something. Shepard didn't care, he just hoped that Kaidan wouldn't take too long either. Otherwise he was going to have to hop into the shower for some quality alone time.

Kaidan instantly regretted stopping the commander.

“I, uh.. Have a couple pairs.” He chuckled, wishing that Shepard had stood a little closer, even though he knew that the distance was probably for the best. Neither of them wanted to get in any trouble with C-Sec. Instead of touching Shepard, as he wanted to continue doing, he slipped his hands in his own pockets, leaning against the wall. “I’d prefer if you tried not to break it beyond repair, though.” Despite his caution, the idea of John ripping off his clothes in a fit of passion made Kaidan’s cock twitch in anticipation.

The ride felt unnaturally long, as if they had stepped into a time warp, and the second that the lift stopped, Kaidan couldn’t have moved out of the doors faster than he did.

"I guess I'll requisition you a few more then," Shepard said, his grin gained a sly edge. It wasn't likely that he'd be making a habit out of actually ripping the clothes of Kaidan, but given the special circumstances he felt it was well within his rights to indulge a little. He felt especially deserving of a small reward after that excruciatingly long elevator ride and given the way that Kaidan was near tearing out of the doors, it seemed like the feeling was mutual. He chuckled as he trotted after Kaidan, coming up along beside him to slide an arm around his waist to tug him close until their hips were bumping. 

"What's the rush, Alenko?" He murmured, just loud enough for Kaidan to hear, there was a touch of amusement in his voice. Several onlookers seemed to recognize him and there were definitely a few shocked stares over the most recent development of his love life. He strolled past them, guiding Kaidan to where the Normandy was docked, taking that opportunity once the doors slid shut behind them to press a quick kiss against the corner of his mouth before breaking apart. He might not be ashamed to parade about the Citadel with Kaidan in his arms, but it seemed the better course of action to just let the crew discover their relationship slowly through scuttlebutt. Not like he could do anything to deter the gossip anyway, sometimes it was like his crew had nothing better to do than gather around the watering hole for that useless small talk.

Placing a hand on the back of Shepard’s head as he kissed at his throat, Kaidan lolled his head back against the wall of the elevator. He couldn’t believe this, how perfect every touch “I can’t wait to see all these tricks…” Kaidan pulled in a shuddering sigh, wishing that they didn’t have to wait to get back to the Normandy, but he knew that they would get in trouble if they were to continue. But, god! Shepard’s fingers felt good, touching his bare skin.

He wrapped his fingers around the commander’s wrist in an attempt to prevent any more movement upward, or downward for that matter. “But those tricks are going to have to wait until we’re somewhere a little more private.” He nods in the direction of the security cameras, where there would, without a doubt, be some official monitoring their every move.

There was one more defiant nip against Kaidan's neck, his lips grazing against unshaved stubble before Shepard relented to common sense. He didn't like putting a pause on what had been promising to be the hottest elevator ride he'd ever experience, but there was far too much sense in Kaidan's words that he couldn't deny. Apparently there was still some blood circulating to his brain after all, even if he'd needed a little reminder from Kaidan first. He huffed a dramatic sigh, taking several reluctant steps backwards to cross his arms over his chest. This had always been the way of things with their relationship, right from the start with Kaidan being the reasonable one to Shepard's hotheadedness. 

"Fine. I suppose I can wait a bit longer, but once we're in my cabin I'm ripping those clothes off you. So I hope you happen to have a spare." Shepard flashed Kaidan another one of his boyish grins and pressed the combination of buttons that would take them straight to Docking Bay D24. There was a beat that felt like a lifetime before the elevator lurched into movement. Shepard slumped against the wall opposite of Kaidan, settling himself in for what was probably going to be the longest elevator ride in his life.

For a split second, Kaidan thought that Shepard was actually offended, but he was relieved to see that it was all a joke. He nudged the Commander in the side with his elbow. “Watch your hands, Shepard. People might think you’re holding a torch for me or something,” he teases, embarrassed only about the blush, not the public display of affection.

“You know what I think? I think you’re a much better hero than Blasto. And you’re, without a doubt, much better looking.” As they step into the elevator, Kaidan leans against the wall, letting Shepard give it the command. “Anyway, if you’re going to convince me that Blasto is a real war hero, and not just a fabrication, you’re going to have to try awful hard. Any ideas on how you’re going to accomplish that?” He grins, crossing his arms as he leans against the wall, completely amused. When the doors slide shut, Kaidan’s tongue runs over his lips, hoping that Shepard’s plan involved a lot of hands on activity.

Shepard could readily admit that whatever Kaidan had said was lost to him, a misstep already as a newly anointed boyfriend, but damn was it hard to focus when Kaidan was running his tongue over his lips like that. There was a beat and Shepard was crowding Kaidan against the elevator wall, body pressed against his as he took his mouth in a long and hungry kiss. With his eyes shut he could feel the heat of Kaidan's body against his, the slide of military issued fatigues against his until Shepard slipped his hands beneath Kaidan's shirt to feel smooth skin against his palms. 

Kaidan was hot, literally and figuratively, a biotic thing if he remembered correctly. Shepard wasn't too keen on learning on the specifics, he was just aware of how warm to the touch Kaidan felt, how surprisingly soft his skin felt to his calloused fingers. He sucked in a sharp breath, could feel his heart pounding against his chest as he took that moment to shoot a near wicked grin at Kaidan. 

"You'll be surprised at what dirty little tricks I've learned. They can be very convincing," he murmured and nipped at the hollow of his throat. Eventually, if they weren't careful, C-Sec was going to be on them for indecent display of affection on public property.

The hand on his back seemed to send sparks down Kaidan’s spine. All night, he had practically been on the verge of hyperventilation, so afraid that he was going to mess everything up, or do something embarrassing. He didn’t want to act the part of horny, blushing schoolgirl, but this was Commander John Shepard. And that hand on his back was his hand. And they were going to his room to do exactly what Kaidan had been fantasizing about for years at this point.

And when Shepard leans in, and his teeth automatically find one spot of many which drive Kaidain insane, he’s too unprepared to hold back a moan. It’s not a loud one, but it is still a moan, and it still brings a blush to his cheeks. 

“I…” He clears his throat, a smile on his lips. “I’d watch the movie with you, but I’d much rather have some hands on action with a real war hero.”

"You're saying Blasto's not a real war hero? You do realize that those are fighting words." He wasn't much of an actor, but Shepard could look offended if he tried hard enough. It was cruel to tease, but it was irresistible with the way Kaidan was blushing. If he had a little more privacy he'd be doing everything in his power to hear more of those delectable moans.

He couldn't pull off the look for very long of course, the corners of his lips were twitching upwards just as his hand was sliding downwards. He managed a covert grope, fingers squeezing at firm flesh through the fabric of Kaidan's outfit before he instantly pulled away, managing to look completely innocent even with the stares they were garnering. 

"Guess we're going to have to settle this little dispute in private." Shepard stuffed his hands into his pockets as he lead the way to the elevators, hanging back to let others on ahead of him. There might be a bit of a wait, but at least this would ensure that they would get the next car all to themselves. He had something else in mind, a little pre-show before the main event.

“Do you even need to ask?” It felt as though his heart was going to leap right from his chest, and his stomach wouldn’t stop doing flips. This was really going to happen, and that steak sandwich was way too good to be something from his dreams. He didn’t even have to pinch himself to make sure it’s real. 

He couldn’t wait to get back to the Normandy. It was completely opposite to how he would usually react to shore leave, but he can’t wait to get Shepard around of his clothes. He wants to have the opportunity to touch and kiss and simply look at every part of Shepard. He wanted to show the commander exactly what he fantasized about. 

Kaidan hops up from his seat, hoping that there are no crumbs on his uniform. ”Next date, dinner’s on me.”

His laugh was a little more forced than usual, but it was his method of relieving tension, of pretending that he wasn't the nervous wreck that he felt. Gods, it'd been ages since he'd entertained the idea of being with someone, it'd been quite the dry run. Being locked up in an Alliance holding cell didn't afford him any opportunities and he was half afraid that he really was every bit the teenaged boy fumbling in the dark that he probably seemed like. 

"Good, I'm holding you to that." He was already out of his seat and beside Kaidan, hand resting against the small of his back where he could feel the warmth of his body even through his BDUs. The display of affection was small, but the gesture felt like another milestone, dispensing with formalities in a public setting. They were moving from the sphere of just friendship to something more, boyfriend territory. Shepard just hoped he wasn't becoming a giant sap about these matters, he didn't need to hand James any more ammunition. 

"I've got that new Blasto movie we could watch unless..." He dipped in closer, a sly expression etched on his features as he nipped at Kaidan's ear. "You have something else in mind...?"

“I was just going to relax, or maybe having a bit of a work out. But nothing’s set in stone. I was hoping that maybe we could…” Kaidan shrugs, pausing as he tries to think of a word. He doesn’t want to outright say that he’d like to take a trip to Shepard’s bedroom for something more than some board games or a drink. “We could spend some more time together. If you can afford to, that is. I know you’re busy. I’ve seen the pile of work you have to do.” 

Kaidan doesn’t want to push for more than Shepard can give. He knows that the commander has a ton of work to do, and he doesn’t want to seem greedy. He’s so happy that they were able to have lunch, and able to come to conclusions about how they felt. But he’d be lying if he said he didn’t want to spend the night with him. 

Whether or not Shepard will ask for him to spend the night, Kaidan steals another kiss.

It was just easier for both parties to give up on this pretence of being unaffected by each stolen kiss. It was all biological, he knew, and could probably go to EDI or even Liara for a lengthy lecture on what chemicals were being released that made him smile like an idiot or made his chest feel like it was close to bursting. Amazing how just a few touches could unseat him, send his resolve scattering through a wind so that he was forcing himself to take in calm and steadying breaths. 

"Good. Let's go. We should go." He already had his omni-tool out, forwarding credits to the establishment that was probably more than what the bill totalled to, but he was in no mood for caring at the moment. He didn't have enough blood going to his brain to think about anything more than having his hands on Kaidan. 

He stopped as he was rising out of seat when he remembered that he hadn't actually asked Kaidan to do anything yet and plopped right down again. "If you're okay with that, I mean. Getting out of here and going some place quiet? Like... my cabin."
