Hey. Unfortunately, I don't. I haven't heard of them in months :/
@verdinium :
<b>"Miss Highwind."
He sits down heavily beside her, joining her at the campfire. Hands in shackles, and other mercaneries dragging him to her, but he treats it like a minor setback in the grand scheme of things. "You wanted to talk to me?"
Cor Leonis' eyes are even brighter than they were in the pictures she's seen, ever watchful at the side of a dead king, and here, in his dirty face in a dirty camp in the middle of nowhere, they shine like silver coins. Her men roughed him up quite a bit, a glimpse of bruises and cuts here and there, but his mien is as stoic as that of a dead man.
"Your invitation came as a bit of a surprise, gotta say."</b>
Aranea rose a brow as she took in his appearance within the firelight. She waited until the mercenaries - too low ranking to wear a face Cor might recognize - had saluted to her and left. Only then did she turn her full attention on the enemy Marshal.
“Cor the Immortal. So you’ve managed to make time for me.” Two could play this game of fake pleasantries and it was rather amusing to her. At least when it was Cor who spoke them. There was something about the Lucian in front of her. Something upfront and honest. Something she could respect. So much unlike the theatrics of a certain chancellor. “Allow me to ask, was it Biggs or Wedge who split your lip?”
She knew her men, each and every one by name. She also knew what they were capable of, and the only two she considered seasoned enough fighters to land a proper hit on Cor Leonis were her left and right hand men. “I dare say the rugged appearance kind of suits you. Makes you seem feral.”
*hugs you real tight* would you please send this to the first 10 people in your dash? Make sure someone gets a hug today and stay safe!
Oooh yes! All the hugs!

if you’re offline or away and i message you something (like a link to a meme or a picture or w/e) honestly just assume that i’m just leaving it there for when you get back and not expecting you to answer straight away. i don’t need you to respond with “hey, sorry, i wasn’t at the computer!” or anything. i was leaving u a gift for later.
This also applies if you’re online and just don’t want to or have the energy to deal with humans in the moment. Just because we have the ability to reply in real time does not mean we have the obligation.
im like a cat i drag the posts to ur doorstep and if ur not there it’s ok, the post will be on ur porch for later
I do this with my friend all the time
True. All of that. So true. It's a chat. The post probably won't self destruct. The message won't either. It's there for whenever you are ready, willing and in the mood to receive it and react to it.

Her eyes were gleaming with anger as her lance came to rest against his throat. “I am not> going to repeat it, Specs. You will do as I say or you can bid your farewells to the idea of standing by your King to the end.”
Ignis nod his head, he has a feeling that he has heard the same speel from Ardyn except this time it isn’t filled with arrogance or trying to be classy. “Yes, I think I have heard about this from the crystal, maybe even from Ardyn himself. The facts of his origin are not missing from me. I am sorry that the crystal and the Lucis family were a dick. I put on the ring for just a few moments and they wanted me to give up my eyesight than my life. Why do you have to do this to Noct? Why kill Lady Lunafreya, his majesty?” Ignis thinks how the loss of the king affected the group for a while, and while he wasn’t there, he is sure that Noct and the others struggled when Lady Lunafreya died…especially Ravus… “To prepare him to be the chosen king? if you ask me that is a load of bull, I didn’t need to die for Noctis to go into that crystal, he just needed to see me almost die.”
“That is exactly my point. As harsh as it sounds - and I am sure Ravus can tell you the same - Lady Lunafreya was slowly dying by her duty. While I am not agreeing to his ways, logically speaking Ardyn only sped things up there. And I won’t believe for one second that they need a living host for the scourge… He… His own brother tried to execute him. And it didn’t work. It just did not work to behead him. So they locked him away into complete darkness, leaving him with no one but the daemons as company and no light to keep them at bay. He tried to kill himself. Multiple times. And he couldn’t. They punished him for helping his people and dis not even grant him the mercy of death. The problem lies not with Ardyn. It lies with Somnus and Bahamut.”
Ignis nods his head. “Speeding up the process, yes it seems that Ardyn has a history of trying to expedite the process…” Ignis remembers the words Ardyn used before trying to kill him. “Lady Lunafreya still had time. At the very least she should have more time to say goodbye to Noct and Ravus. But that is another issue.” Ignis tried his best to keep his anger in check. “If what all you say is true, then why is he killing? Make daemons and make the sun go away, fine. Why is killing innocent people? there were normal citizens living in Insomnia and he helps Niflheim destroy and take over it. He wants his revenge on the king and the gods, I say let him. But he is getting so many people hurt, that I cannot sympathize with him Aranea.”
"As I said. I do not agree with him killing the Oracle." Aranea shook her head. "He is not the reason for the scourge. He can turn people into daemons, if he so wishes. But he doesn't. People and beasts becoming daemons is not something he does on purpose. He does not erase the sun either." She sighed. "The scourge was there before he was inflicted. And the sun does not go away due to him. It is part of the scourge. It emits a sort of miasma which is also released when a daemon is killed. It blocks out the sun. The less sun, the more daemons. The more daemons get killed, the quicker the progress. There is just no oracle left to clean the world from the miasma. And believe it or not there are innocents in Niflheim too. There were innocents for centuries. And this war is raging just as long. Ardyn plays with it for thirty years. He is not the reason for this war."

Her eyes were gleaming with anger as her lance came to rest against his throat. “I am not> going to repeat it, Specs. You will do as I say or you can bid your farewells to the idea of standing by your King to the end.”
He sighed and looked tired exactly for someone his age. He runs his hand across his scar and looks at Aranea. “I don’t know Aranea. I don’t know what to say. If you want the prophecy to happen then fine, it doesn’t look like I could get to Ardyn alone even if I wanted to. I don’t have the ring anymore so I wouldn’t stand a chance anyways…”
She rolled her eyes at this. “I do realize you have more than enough reasons to hate him. But did you ever consider that Ardyn might not be the core of all problems? Did it occur to you that he - too - is trapped in the role someone else pushed onto him?”
Ignis closes his eyes to think about all the terrible things that he and his friends had to go through and calms down a little. “So he has to bring the darkness then? in order to get his everlasting peace? If he wants his death than Noct can do it, he doesn’t need to put the world through this, no sun, daemons everywhere…” Ignis tries to logic this.
She sighs heavily. "It is... A tad bit more complicated than that. Two thousand years ago, the scourge was at its strongest. Raging across the lands and turning mankind and beasts into daemons. Yet, the gods chose a young sage, a healer, to aid the world and banish the darkness. A man who had the role Noctis has now. Ardyn. He was the only one who could heal the scourge. But it was not as... Romantic and easy as it is for Lady Lunafreya. The price to pay in order to heal his people was high. Ardyn had to take each and every piece of darkness into himself. And when the time came for him to step in front of the Crystal and fulfill his calling - dying a young death to do so - he was denied. They said there was too much darkness in him. Darkness that was there because he healed his people. Because he chose their wellbeing over his over and over and over again."

(♦. COMMODOREARANEAHIGHWIND):
She sighed heavily. “I don’t deny that. But… Thinking of something else is one thing. Getting too attached though is dangerous. Especially for him.” Aranea closed her eyes and shook her head. “I ain’t the youngest. I ain’t in my best years. And Ignis has lost enough already. I can’t guarantee he won’t lose me, so he shouldn’t get too attached.”
harsh it may sound but Aranea was just being realistic. She has seen too much shit, been through too much already. And every single day she is a little less believing about how she can still be alive, and Biggs and Wedge too.
Prompto smiled sadly. She was being too hard on herself right now, and on Ignis, too. If they cared for each other, if they wanted to get together, they really should do it. The blonde considered these two as great friends of his, and he wanted them to be happy more than anything else. It was difficult to deal with the darkness and the fights these days. If they found COMFORT in each other, that would be great.
“You’re too hard on both of you right now. I think it’s important to let happiness enter our lives, particularly in a world of darkness like ours. It gives us strength, powers. When I’m feeling sad, I look at my pictures, and I feel strong again, somehow.”
She sighed heavily. "Alright. I never told you this one... When I was younger than you're now, some years younger, I stumbled across Biggs and Wedge. Now, neither of them would admit it, but I'll be frank about it: They basically adopted me. Int heir weird yet caring way. We are... Close. Not like lovers - I can't even imagine them in a situation like that - but like family... I have known them for more than ten years. I know they can stand their ground. I know each of them is enough to single handedly kill some of the most ferocious daemons I've ever come across. I know if they team up they can take me down. And still, every time I head out, every time I remember that they have headed out, it... Scares me. There is always this part of me just knowing that one day I will stand at their graves."
There was a long break in her speech, a moment she took to gather her words and make sure her emotions were kept in check. "They're older than me. And whether it is from age or from combat, there was always the knowledge that I might survive them. It's... Not nice to think of. But it is a form of realism. Just like parents usually die before their children because they are an older generation. Even then it is a truth hard to face. I had time to get used to this thought as far as something is possible. But growing too attached to someone my age - younger even - just to watch them die... I... Ain't good with emotions. I doubt I'd be able to handle those."
(♣. COMMODOREARANEAHIGHWIND):
She sighs heavily. “I know. And i trust in your determination. And in your skills. And yet… I trust in my skills too, but I ain’t sure if I’ll live long enough to witness a new dawn.” It was painfully honest. Then again, when was she not? Aranea allowed the touch, even gently taking his hand afterwards to show him she was there. “I don’t intent to die. But death rarely gives a shit about people’s intentions.”
She almost forgot that she was still holding his hands as she looked up to the sky. “You know… Sometimes I get the feeling I defied death too often. Those days I can’t shake off the feeling that there will be payback time. And it will be harsh.”
Ignis chuckled softly. She was HONEST with him, and understood how she could say such things. But he couldn’t let himself die these days - Noctis would need him once he would be back. So he was fighting with everything he had and working hard to find all his skills again. And of course, he refused to let a thing happen to the dragoon, too. “Even with a new dawn, the world would be too dark without you in it.” He had been honest in return. He would miss her way more than he could admit if she wasn’t there.
“Death is unfair. No matter how many times you defeat it, I do not think it matters.” After all, Noctis would die in the end when he would come back to banish the darkness, just like Ignis had defied death by putting on the Ring of the Lucii. “I literally defied death, too.”
Aranea was almost glad he was blind. His words had a blush crawl over her face, painting her cheeks a deep shade of red. She was most definitely not used to that kind of attention and compliments. She didn't even notice her hand gently squeezing his. "I am but one woman. There is worse things that could happen to the world than me dying."
She closed her eyes as he mentioned the thing with the ring. It was something she neither understood, nor did she want to tolerate it. Alas, there was nothing she could do but silently curse the kings that had people bleed for being loyal to their line and their cause. That would rather sacrifice the world than sacrifice their pride. Oh how she hated the kings of yore for that. And the gods orchestrating this game.

Her eyes were gleaming with anger as her lance came to rest against his throat. “I am not> going to repeat it, Specs. You will do as I say or you can bid your farewells to the idea of standing by your King to the end.”
He is not sure how to answer and is silent for a few seconds as he thinks. “This world means nothing to me..do with it as you wish but I refuse to let Noct sacrifice his life to save ours… Those are the words I told Ardyn on that day. I know the kings want people to pay a price to use their precious power. I don’t believe that either side is free of guilt. Me, Noct, and everyone else are just paying the price of past mistakes…
She sighs. “And that is why I had to step up against you, Ignis. Ardyn has been bound to an existence he loathes. For millenia. Your wish to save your king takes his chance of finding piece.”
Ignis sighed, he wished he was able to actually kill Ardyn. He put everything on the line, even his very life for the ring of lucii to give him full power. But it just wasn’t enough. “What am I suppose to do then? Let Noct die?”
She sighs heavily, fixing her with a gaze far too old and tired for someone on her thirties. "What am I supposed to do? Watch Ardyn live even longer when he wanted to die so long already? Watch my liege get the fate promised to him stripped away yet another time? If it was only me bound to this I wouldn't even think about stopping you. But I can't watch him suffer even more."

He looked down. “I can’t just stand here and watch Noctis sacrifice himself. I would rather I died in his place. Do you know how much the gods are asking him to give up?”
“I am very much aware.” She said with a sigh. “They ask no more than they asked of Ardyn, once. With a small difference. This time they cannot afford to just turn their back on him. Ignis, this Prophecy does not only concern Noct. The way I am tied to it is one thing. But it is not fair for someone to endure two thousand years of ignorance, shunning and suffering, just because they tried to help others.”
Ignis looks at Aranea with sad eyes. “I am sorry to hear what Ardyn had to go through, you are right Aranea. It is unfair. However, I think he is going about this the wrong way. he is getting people needlessly killed just for this prophecy. He tried to kill me Aranea… He was going to kill me to force Noctis to fulfill his role early. I cannot forgive him for that, I barely was able to survive that encounter.” Ignis remembers back to the time he puts on the ring, he still recalls the burning embers destroying his body.
She sighed. "I do not say what he does is right. But I know him well enough to see that he only plays the part. Plays the villain they made him out to be." She rubbed her face with one hand, sighing heavily. "Did you never wonder though? If your Kings of Yore are that glorious and righteous... Why would they even call for a price as high as your eyesight just for you to have a chance to fight for your liege - their chosen? Why would they kill someone as a price for defending Insomnia, the Oracle and the Ring?"
