“Ain’t I A Women” Speech

The speech was spoken be Sojourner Truth, who was a big advocate for the women rights movement. Even tho Truth had very few speaking and reading skills, she was so influential because in this speech she uses analogies and reasoning to sway her audience. In this case, she compares the education the women get compared to the men, which is very unbalanced towards the male side.

“Declaration of Sentiments”

This was a document that was meant to seek and inspire people to fight for women’s rights and involvement in society. At the time, women had very little actions in society. They mainly were house wives and took care of the children and house. However, the women wanted a bigger role. The women movement were able to get men who thought the same, and they used the Declaration of Independence to back their argument.

The quote is, “A man often meets his destiny on the very road he takes to avoid it.”

This is a quote from the TV Series “The Flash”, and the character H.R. Wells is stating it. The context is that the Flash needs advice on if he can change the future, and Wells is giving him his insight on what he thinks. H.R. Wells is famed writer and poet that has written a couple books about Romance and time travel. This is why the Flash seeks help, and why Wells is credible.

Declaration of Independence

The Declaration of Independence was written in a time where the tensions between the British and the American Colonies had risen to the peak. Therefore, the Declaration of Independence was written. The writers used the past actions of the British to justify why they are separating.

Common Sense and Crisis

Both of these pieces of text are from Thomas Paine. The situation was when the British and Colonies were on the uprise of their conflict. Paine thought that there was no point in sticking with the British, and he used logic and reasoning to persuade his audience.

A Model of Christian Charity

This text from John Winthrop was speaking to the Puritans to spread the ideals of Christianity. In Winthrop’s opinions, the best way to spread his religion was giving the idea that Christianity is this great positive and charitable community.

In this situation, Einstein is talking about the educational system in his opinion. He uses an analogy to compare what the school system does to the students it enrolls to get his point across.
