i would absolutely LOVE to hear abouttt, for as many of ur ocs you wanna answer with, what all of their A) day off activities include (catching up on chores? doing fucking nothing but sleep or tv? are they actually responsibilityless and every day is a day off day? etc) and B) their current goals and how successful or lackthereof they are at attaining or finishing them ? do any of them have intertwining goals, and does that work out good or bad for them? etc etc
Yayyy omg fangz you. I will go in-depth with Tuesday, cuz she intertwines with the most people at the moment, and I will cover both questions ^_^ I'll send you an ask when I'm done!! :D
Sooo The City of Elsewhere is a sandbox AU, where allll of my characters live in one place, get to crossover and make friends with people from worlds they don't share, and go about more mundane lives than they do when in use. Well. That's what it's supposed to be.
Elsewhere is a deeply unstable place, settled on a fracture in space-time, which is what lets it house so many conflicting timelines at once. Because of this, sometimes things break. Tuesday becomes aware of the life she lives outside of Elsewhere, and is horrified. Originally from a horror story in which she is the first victim of Echo, a fledgling serial killer who ends up sparing her out of guilt because she tried to befriend him despite his malevolent intent, she is devastated that her life without him is just as bleak. She's without friends, she's failing college, and her family sucks in either timeline.
Seeking purpose now that she's Awake, she goes and finds Echo, but he pushes her away. Then, she tries to find his other victims in her original timeline, and finds that they pity her. Finally, she tries to find other people who are Awake.
She ends up meeting Seven, a man who is also Awake, and whose origin is a gory Vasquez-esque comic book, where he is the killer. Hoping to get closure, to succeed where she failed with Echo, she tries to befriend him too. Their relationship is Not Good. He pines for her, but won't actually show her any affection when they cross paths. He's also killing hella people, and that's stressful for Tuesday. To say the least. She eventually stops chasing him, and because he was too prideful to approach her, letting her track him down for every interaction, he resorts to stalking her from a distance.
She then meets Lionel on the bus. Most people do not like Lionel, he's a surly, quiet basement dweller and people assume he's going to be an asshole because of this. Him and Tuesday start talking about their respective reputations, and how that has been a sort of self fulfilling prophecy, and they make friends because of this. Lionel ends up being her first boyfriend, but he's got a similar inability to confront his feelings or overlook his discomfort, placing the onus on Tuesday to handle his insecurities.
Girl is stuck in afucking ouroboros, she keeps trying to get closure by making a difficult man love her For Real This Time to prove to herself she is capable of being loved. But eventually after Lionel ghosts her for two weeks to sulk, she breaks up with him.
Seven is still an Actual Fucking Menace, as he's found a way to perma-kill people when they would otherwise respawn due to their importance to The Narrative, and Tuesday feels a lot of guilt over enabling him, so she agrees to help some other Awakened people track him down, and find a way to stop him. It's complicated, because on some level she still cares about him, and as one of the few Awake people, Lionel is also there. He's trying to help, but it's clearly just an excuse to get to work with Tuesday and gain her forgiveness without actually apologizing. She has unfortunately type lol, but she's been maturing out of it as she's realized she wants to be happy more than she wants to prove to herself that she's lovable.
This is almost everyone involved in catching Seven.
EVENTUALLY. She meets Zeb. Zeb is from 2006, and has let his rejection sensitivity disorder rule most of his life, and ruin it too. But prior to meeting Tuesday he had also gone on a soul searching journey That I Will Not Be Getting Into on this post because it's already too long. Zeb is not an epic love. He's a normal, kind of fucked up guy, but he genuinely wants to be a good friend and partner to Tuesday and is willing to challenge himself and be uncomfortable to do that :)
Tuesday has since dropped out of the hunt for Seven. She has been focusing on living a normal life, fuck being useful and fuck being important to the narrative. Her and her loser boyfriend like going to the pool, attending house parties, and navigating the time fractures around Elsewhere to go to the mall and concerts they think are cool.
I guess the downside is Tuesday still has three situationship exes, two of which are homicidal maniacs, and Seven is still on the loose... but... no one's seen Seven in a few weeks now. People have stopped dying under mysterious circumstances. And uhh. Nobody really wants to do a wellness check for that guy.
(Not to be mysterious but Seven was stalking Tuesday, Echo was stalking Tuesday, they crossed paths... : | It's like when two viruses competing to destroy your computer end up eating each other. Seven is alive, but he is hog tied in Echo's basement with a railroad spike in his head.)
