Recently I was replaying fallout 4 and when I walked out of diamond city I noticed something amazing... Two deathclaws fighting I started to hang back and watch buy then they both attacked me but somehow I managed to actually win so I was wondering how would bthe companions react to seeing two deathclaws fighting each other then sole coming out on top?
(Thank you for this prompt!! I’m so sorry for the delay but I hope that this does it justice 😌)
Jules had walked a bit ahead of their companion, trailing off into the brush. She said that she had heard something, and she was more than eager to catch a glimpse of the ruckus coming from beyond the tree line.
Cait: Her arms would be folded and a cheeky grin would cross her face as Jules walked towards her, bruised and sweaty - “I’d love to mount a Deathclaw head on my wall… if I had a wall.” She chuckled playfully.
Codsworth: “Mum, must I remind you again that I am here to assist you.” He insisted, then whispered, “Not be a spectator to some freak show.”
Curie: Her hands would be placed over her mouth to hide her shock - “Madame, I am so amazed by this feat. I believe the term is ‘yahoo?’” Her hands would reach for Jules’ - “You are so brave, would you show me how to be this fearless?” Her excitement would be shown through her rosy cheeks and eager demeanor.
Danse: Clearly frustrated and slightly impressed - “You know, I’m not in this power armor just for show.” He would shake his head, smiling, to which Jules would reply in a mocking voice - “Don’t underestimate the deathclaw, I’ve seen one tear open power armor like it was a tin can.” Danse would roll his eyes, nudging his tiny companion and sternly reply “Move along, Soldier.”
Deacon: His hands would be on his hips and he’d be looking over his sunglasses - “Normally I’d insert something Shakespearean involving death and your inevitable doom here, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t impressed.” His arm would then go around Jules’ shoulders so that he could help her walk back to shelter.
Dogmeat: (He would stop walking before Jules had gone ahead.) A concerned whimper followed with barking would ensue. Jules would then rush towards the sound, leaving him behind. Once Jules made her way back through the brush successfully, he would eagerly rush at her, whining happily and giving her kisses.
Hancock: He would be trying his best not to sound panicked, because he hated when Jules would run off alone. “Sunshine?” He’d call out hesitantly as he made his way through the brush. He’d be greeted by Jules who was sitting on top of the pile of deathclaws. “I was hoping to bring them home with us, but I guess that didn’t really pan out.” She’d giggle, blushing at his cheeky grin. Shaking his head he’d reply - “That’s my girl.” He’d gesture for her to get off of the mess and scoop her up into his arms. He’d rest his forehead on her shoulder to hide his relief.
MacCready: Jules would have been silent for a while after the noises stopped. He would be crouching by the brush, using his scope to see if he could find her. Jules would startle him with her excited tone “Mac! I made you a good luck charm.” She’d hand him the bloodied deathclaw hand and he’d take it reluctantly. “You’re a piece of work.” He’d blush, proud of his companion. “But yeah… we should get the heck out of here. Now would be good.”
Nick: He would get beyond the brush just as Jules had finished up. He’d light a cigarette and say to her, half mockingly “I am become death, the destroyer of worlds.” He’d smile at her - “Kid you’re a whirlwind of trouble, but I’m glad you’re on our side.”
Piper: She’d try running after Jules to no avail, resulting in her taking out her note pad and pen. She’d shout after her “Watch your digits, Blue!”. She’d make her way through the brush to find Jules wiping her hands on her pants, and two huge deathclaws laying lifeless beside her. “Goodness, Blue, do you have a death wish? Let’s get out of here!” A fake frown would cross her face, then a smile - “Man this is going to be a story for the books.”
Preston: He wouldn’t be far behind Jules, so he’d see her in action. He’d be kneeling, ready to fire off a few shots to try and scare them off. To his surprise, Jules would come out on top - “If I didn’t know better, I’d say you had just gone feral.” He’d laugh, wiping the worried sweat from his forehead. Jules would wink at him, to which he would reply - “Every day I find a new reason to be grateful for you dropping into our lives.”
Strong: He wouldn’t have even noticed Jules had run off until he had heard the noise of her yelling followed with the cries of deathclaws. He’d walk up to her, delight crossing his face - “Tiny human fight like brothers. Make strong proud.” He would gesture to high-five her, something she had taught him.
X6-88: He would be incredibly frustrated that she had run off because she was much smaller and easily hurt than he was. He would rush at the brush, half frantic but trying to maintain his composure. To his surprise, Jules would be wiping the blood from her arms and be smiling - “X6, you worry too much.” She’d joke. He’d walk up to her, still appearing frustrated, and place his hand on her shoulder - “If I’ve learned anything since we’ve been running together, it’s this: Holy shit, was I wrong about you. You’re as tough and determined as anyone I’ve met. Maybe more.” A small smile would appear on his face, and it would be the first time he had ever trusted someone’s abilities.
