used to work a 9-5 but got sick of it and went whale hunting and then when that didn't go well she got roped into an even worse 9-5

hard to fear death when your job involves dying and getting revived again over and over constantly

takes things seriously and is 100% the type to read the terms and conditions from start to finish

give her an excuse to take a break and she's outta there

actually does enjoy fishing and the ocean in general, even if the sea she's familiar with is a cursed hellscape from which few return

can channel versions of herself from other timelines where she's probably debatably a little cooler

she's mean sometimes and can be rude and honestly her world is pretty brutal so she isn't phased much by death and violence

but honestly deep down she's just trying to do right by herself and isn't unwilling to help others, seeing herself as a force of encouragement

Callisto, in the absence of his preferred artform, has been largely whittling away the hours through cursory explorations of other pursuits. It mostly so happens that things such as painting and drawing are the most convenient to bring with him. Today, though, he is carving wood. It flakes beneath his hands with every drag of the knife, long peeling curls of wood fiber flicked away in sharp gestures. A small warm up exercise before he takes the cheap carving knife to the oversized wooden sword he was brought here with.

He notices her before she does him. That is what he suspects to be part of why she does not immediately flee. Unfortunately for her, she has something that he wants.

"I suppose I very well could in absentia of the conflict that so drove you to my doorstep..."

The small, roughly hewn wooden sculpture is held invitingly aloft to the woman. It hasn't been carefully refined yet, but the shape resembles the small sparrows that fill the park.

"But perhaps I would like to get to know those who have so acquainted themselves with my daughter. We may both find such a conversation to be enlightening. I trust you expect me to not do anything with such information were we to return as we have come." Callisto isn't entirely incapable of humor— he knows perfectly well what the result of that fight was. He doubts there would even be a body left to return to if such a thing were to happen.

"Sit with me, won't you? It is a lovely day."

𝟎𝟖 - Ishmael's brow furrowed. No hostility was obvious, but that had been the case throughout their previous engagements as well. Callisto and Albina had both been unnerving in how inhuman they carried themselves, and with how little they appeared to care about human life. Maybe it was the opposite in essence though, that their perception of "life" had become so twisted that they saw art as the ultimate form of life. But if death was life's perfect form, then she didn't seek perfection herself.

"Sorry, did you forget the part where you attacked us first?" She didn't appreciate the insinuation that they were somehow to blame for that incident. Not after the Nursefathers and their disciples had laid waste to LCB's HQ. She considered both Callisto's offer and the intentions behind it. Why did he want to talk about Albina? He must have known they were both dead.

The Sinner just sighed. "Fine. You won't be able to make art out of me here even if you did kill me. We just respawn and our bodies go poof." So theoretically, he shouldn't have had any motives for killing her. She didn't necessarily take up his offer to "sit" though, and elected to lean against a nearby pillar with her arms crossed. "Not sure what you want to hear from me about your daughter though. Not like we talked much. You trying to hook us up or something?" Ishmael tried joking to lighten her own mood a little.

𝟎𝟖 - "What was your favourite food again? ...Rösti?" Ishmael stared up at the diner's menu board high above the counter. She had something of a habit of memorizing "fun" facts about the other Sinners. Was it because she was trying to be a good coworker? In a way. She did care about their likes and dislikes, although at first she had only really learned them to try and get on their good sides.

Unlike Outis, who was probably learning them as a motivation tactic for when morale was low.

"You see it up there anywhere? Got a second favourite food if not?" The idea had been to treat Sinclair to celebrate their reunion, but the offerings were a little more limited than she had expected.

𝟎𝟖 - "Huh? My uniform? You recognize it?" There was a pretty good chance that she'd met someone else wearing the Limbus Company uniform in the city. There were a couple of Sinners other than herself around after all, and she hadn't really bothered to shop for anything else. It just felt more practical to wear what she was used to. "It's standard issue for our team... if that's what you want to call us."

Ishmael shrugged the thought off. They were definitely more of a team now than when Dante had first arrived.

"Guess I probably should pick out some new clothes, but that would cost money and would be a real pain in the ass. Then again, might be better than having random people recognize it, even if our company isn't even operational here..."

𝟎𝟖 - "Stop eyeing it, I'm not giving you any." The Sinner held a fully topped hot dog that she'd picked up at the boardwalk over to the side, as far away from New Jersey as she could possibly put it. She was familiar with this one. A noisy woman that reminded me of a mixture of Rodya and Don Quixote, and a woman that claimed to be a "ship" the last time they'd met.

"Why would a ship even need a hot dog? Can't you just sip some fuel or something?" Anything to get her away from the hot dog.

𝟎𝟖 - "Oh, you've got to be shitting me." Ishmael cursed under her breath. Hard not to notice the towering man built from prosthetics, but as it turned out it was harder for him not to notice her. It was almost uncanny seeing him in a "normal" environment, even though it was just a park. Considering the last time she'd seen him, he had been surrounded by his messed up idea of "art"... and he had impaled her a number of times...

The Sinner wasn't exactly eager for this reunion. There was no future Sinclair to save her.

"Don't suppose you're just gonna ignore me, are you? You didn't really take much of an interest in me before, so I don't see why we need to engage in frivolous chitchat." She did have one ID to use if she had to, but it would probably just be used to make her escape.

𝟎𝟖 - Ishmael's past stays in the city had been spotty when it came to who she ran into. Other Sinners were pretty rare, and every time it happened her memories of back home were different anyways. During her last stay, the last thing she remembered... was before Hong Lu's place? And now Ryoshu's "trial" had just completed.

An incident that this one hadn't come out of unscathed, even though she hadn't been around to witness it. She'd been dealing with her own problems.

"Hey, you good? Well, guess you must be if you're walking around." Gregor had not been in great shape when she'd last seen him, and she'd been hovering around his hospital bed a little when no one else would. "Good... I'm glad, really. We don't usually run into issues Dante can't just fix with turning back the clock after all..."
