Just went to a performance of Book of Mormon at Buffalo Shae Theater. Amazing show. The cheer that came from the crowd at the Epstein/Trump joke gave me hope. Fuckin hilarious.

Actually genuinenly enjoying my customer service job sometimes
Customer (calling from Ireland): “Yes hello, I would like to -”
Sheep in the background: *gentle baa*
Customer: “Uh, sorry, what I want to do is -”
Sheep: *slightly more insistent baa*
Customer: “No, not now! -cough- Excuse me. I have a reservation and -”
Sheep: *VERY LOUD ACCUSATORY BAA*
Customer: “Arnulf! Please be quiet, I am on the phone! … Sorry, I sincerely apologize on behalf of Arnulf.”
me: “I love and forgive him.”
Customer: “Don’t, he doesn’t deserve it. Anyway, I’m calling about -”
Arnulf: *small, very self-satisfied baa*

Behold my toad army.
Wage theft is the oxygen of capitalism.
Bought tickets to watch The Book of Mormon… do I like musical theater… no
But I love my husband and he has been talking about wanting to see this for literally 5 years.
He is the gayest straight man I have ever met. 🤣
Tulip has many opinions on the calf 😂
My daughter is incapable of taking a normal photo 😂
Happy Traitor Surrender Day from John Brown’s Grave.
Scored these two books at Cornerstone Books in Plattsburgh. I love that book store.
Of course the sheep I didn’t think was pregnant lambed while I was gone. The mom wasn’t feeding it, which isn’t that unusual for a first time mom. So the husband gave it to one of our neighbors to raise as a bottle lamb. Latest update from the neighbor is that he’s doing well.
Ahhhhhh
Sorry frustrated.
NY is kind of dumb. They keep flip flopping on electrification and while it pains me to agree with Hochul I kind of do. Although my issues isn’t so much about affordability, as that is an issue we could solve by more heavily regulating utility rates. My issue is reliability.
NY has one of the oldest grids in the country. Depending on where you live you, your power could go out for a couple hours or a couple days. It also gets fucking cold here.
So everyone switches to electric heat and then what?
You can run a gas furnace off one of those small generators you pick up at Home Depot, you cannot run a heat pump with one. To have reliable backup power you will need a whole home generator. Whole home generators are not cheap. Personal opinion, if you are switching to heat pumps figure in a whole home generator into your cost or maybe buy a pellet stove for backup heat.
The biggest thing I learned in my degree program, was the 3E and 3R principles. Good sustainability policy takes into account Economy, Ecology, and Equity. Good energy policy takes into account Risk, Reliability, and Resiliency.
We are so focused on meeting a goal I don’t think policy makers have taken into account Equity or Reliability. If we want everyone heating with electric, we first need to make sure everyone has reliable and equitable access to electricity.
Sheena our little Shetland/Painted Desert sheep born March 8th.
Went back to look at some of my first post. She was born March 8th of 2011…. this bitch is still alive. She will be 15 this March and is a feral ass who stomps at me if I so much as look at her. She is the only animal we still have from when we lived in Plattsburgh.
She passed away a few weeks ago just shy of 15.
RIP you miserable old sheep
Yee ha lol
Voting NO on the DHS funding bill is the bare minimum.
Backing Kristi Noem’s impeachment is the bare minimum.
Holding law-breaking ICE agents legally accountable is the bare minimum.
ICE is beyond reform. Abolish it.
Two of my cows decided having their calves in a blizzard was a grand idea. The one unfortunately had hers overnight and it was already dead when we found it. Luckily the second cow had hers during the day and I was able to scoop her up right after being born. I brought her in the camper to dry off, fed her some colostrum, and she is now in a temporary calf hutch with 2 heat lamps and a blanket to keep warm.
Hopefully this little New Year’s Eve calf makes it and can become our homestead’s milk cow in a couple years.
