Ophelia was having a good day. No, not good, great. She’d managed to save at least one animal life — a cat hit by a car, thank the lord they came to her quick enough. On top of that, her dog sitter had told her that Gus Gus was doing just fine adjusting to him new home, so much so she doubted he needed to be looked after at all.
It was for that reason that she felt no reason to ignore the smartly dressed man approaching her, a grin settling on her face as she greeted him, “Hello! Of course, do you need directions? Because I’ll tell you now, I’ve just moved here and I’ve been relying on Google maps the entire time, but I think I could help.”
“No no, nothing of the sort,” he said, his lips pulling into a charming smile. Winnie, my girl, we shall feast like royalty.. There wasn’t even a shroud of doubt in him. “I was wondering if you would like to donate in helping get clean water to Africa. Any amount will help. Even just one cent can go a long way.” He was surely going to hell.
